Don't know if this is right topic but anyway, I have just found out after a fainting episode that I am 4 months pregnant. I took the 'holiday' pill back in november as me and my fiance were going abroad. We had a few reckless moments whilst there, as u do on all inclusive, and what do u know, my periods have been infrequent since. I did take a pregnancy test when we got back and it was negative and since I'd had a lil bleeding every month (light for me but I put it down to the holiday pill) I pressumed were A-OKAY, anyway. The last week when I've been in the bath I had what I remember as something kicking me in my belly. (We have one dd already) but since I'm NOT pregnant, I thought maybe its from working out etc... Then I went and fainted at work and rushed to hospital, blood tests taken and what not and they inform me I'm 4 months pregnant!!!!

I'm overjoyed in many ways, I mean to be pregnant and so far gone without any symptoms is wonderful but just a lil shell shocked and a bit disturbed because I've been drinking (social smoking) and body building for 4 months unaware! I havent been on mumsnet for about 5 years lol, but I'm back now to report my findings lol and i guess to catch up on anything pregnancy related....

Sorry, that's not helpful is it?

I clicked on this link because, I have also just found out I was four months pregnant (no symptoms). Bizarro huh?

And no need to stop all social activities, just the boozing and smoking bits!

ahhhhhpushit · 04/02/2012 21:42

WOw congrats! That mustve been a shock!

What do you mean by "holiday pill" btw??? So how many weeks are you, 17/18ish?

Wow congratulations! This is a good antenatal thread if you like them or search the topic for a different one. There is also the pregnancy topic to keep you going. My Dd was conceived in a similar manner except I realised early on, as I was either pregnant or DYING! :o

sausagerolemodel · 04/02/2012 22:21

heh. congratulations! You got all that crappy first trimester out of the way without even knowing. Good luck with the rest :-)

daniwalkes · 05/02/2012 07:54

Wow this is amazing. At what point did you test? Iv been hearing there is a link between ladies who bleed and negative testing!! You must be so excited / shocked!
Oh also congrats to hambleshandbag... How did you find out / not know for do long?

Deafworm · 05/02/2012 08:02

I found out I was having dd1 at 25 weeks, it was a shock as I'm sure you will know and it made the pregnancy feel very short and quite hectic but we had to move house due to the pregnancy so we had more to achieve than an average pregnancy but she's about to turn 7 now and wonderful, enjoy your surprise!

KittyBump · 05/02/2012 08:20

Congratulations, what a surprise! Now, this has worried me slightly as I had what felt like a baby kicking the other night. It just made me think that obviously it wasn't a baby moving and it must have been something else going on inside and I just put in down to being pg last time I felt it iyswim! I would be very surprised if I was though as I have a coil and a very sporadic sex life :)
So, do you look pregnant at all? I think people show quicker the second time round don't they? What happens with your scans, will you get a dating scan ASAP?

mum2JRC · 05/02/2012 08:20

My sister in law found out she was pregnant at 19 weeks ( also her 2nd child). A big shock. She was drinking in the week and weekends too for all that time. She was just getting her head round everything when she went into early labour at 33 weeks due to an infection. The baby was fine after a very short SCUBU stay and is now an active toddler.

daniwalkes · 05/02/2012 08:30

Kittybump i have threesome same bit i think important doing crazy. Past few months iv had very irregular af. Most recently i was 17days late and when i came on it was light and very creamy with no clots (so sort tmi) but been like this for a few months now. Negative tests bit iv been sick / nauseous for weeks. So tired that im sleeping during day! Also i swear o can feel movement... Not a kick but something! Iv got two ds (3 & 1) important so confused and just assumed im going nuts!!! Maybe not!

JaneMare · 05/02/2012 08:31

i have an 'AI' baby too and late confirmation of PG Grin

malibu and lemonade by the pint and Old Enough To Know Better Blush

once you get over the initial shock, it's fabulous to have missed all the early PG sickness, and congratulations!

daniwalkes · 05/02/2012 08:31

Sorry for spelling mistakes... Writing on my phone... Important is meant to say im!!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 05/02/2012 08:34

At least you found out before your baby was actually born... My nan just gave birth one day she was about to go to work went to the loo knew something was wrong got on the bed and out popped a baby yes literally baby was born in minutes Must have been funny trying to explain to the ambulance man why she hadnt even got a nappy to put on her baby Grin

BroomForMyChin · 05/02/2012 08:37

I also found out I was pregnant at 19 weeks. I had loads of symptoms though I just thought I was dying Hmm. I did 4 pregnancy tests and they were all negative, I think must have taken them before I was actually pregnant as I'd been missing periods for a while. So glad I found this thread. Thought I was the only one!

Littlepurpleprincess · 05/02/2012 09:14

I know a lady who got rushed to hospital with expected apendisitis (however you spell it) only to find out she was actually in labour. She had no idea she was pregnant.

congratulations. I am only 5 weeks gone and very jealous of your 4 months. Envy

Do you have a bump?

daniwalkes · 05/02/2012 09:27

My sister didst find out until she was 17weeks and i was 10weeks ahead of her... Was very jealous that she skipped the whole first trimester out! Pretty much as soon as she found out there was a bump... I think you hold yourself differently when you know!!!x

littlemissnormal · 05/02/2012 09:33

To my amazement I found out 2 weeks ago that I was 24 weeks pregnant...went to the doctor thinking it was a hernia, he told me to lose a bit of my post-Xmas weight to sort it out but do a test to be on the safe side!

You'd think as it's my 3rd I'd of had some idea as was sick, tired etc with both previous DCs but have been completely oblivious!

Worried to death about the fact that I'd eaten loads of brie, drunk wine, given blood, been on power plater but both midfwife and doc have said don't worry and baby looks fine!

Big congrats, and like others have said at least you've got the crappy bit out of the way and there's less time to wait until the baby comes!

HamblesHandbag · 05/02/2012 10:06

litlemissnormal, CONGRATULATIONS!

WOW, 24 weeks! Smile I was amazed I got to 17 weeks oblivious, but then I've felt first movements this week too (now 18 weeks). Thought is was just getting fat and was hammering the weightwatchers Hmm

I was also worried about everything I've consumed over the past few months, but the consultant was quite dismissive about it all (in a nice way). And as someone said to me on another thread, what's done is done.

ShowOfHands · 05/02/2012 10:14

She'll be along in a minute...

Congratulations to you all! My friend found out she was pregnant at 23 weeks last year. She had nary a symptom and no weight gain. She'd only done the test as they insisted upon it before she had a coil fitted.

daniwalkes · 05/02/2012 10:27

Can i ask though did you all miss your periods or did you have enough of a bleed yo make you not consider pregnancy??

JaneMare · 05/02/2012 11:26

i had monthly 'bleeds' but as i was taking the mini pill these were light anyway.

i'm still able to fit into the clothes i wore up to 8mths too - i put the excess weight (only about a stone anyhow) down to having given up smoking the year before
