She has had a stressful pregnancy. She has had bleeding problems from the start but every scan has showed that baby & placenta is ok. She is now just 24 weeks and has been losing fluid since 1pm today. She says she can still feel it moving around.

I am out of my mind with worry. The baby will be too little to stand a good chance of survival.Sad

Has she gone back to the hospital pink? X

backwardpossom · 18/02/2012 10:45

I would think so pink. If it's any consolation, 2 maternity pads isn't a huge amount in relation to how much is in there, although I can understand why she must be terrified. I hope she has seen someone? x

Pinkchampagne · 18/02/2012 12:35

She has not phoned hospital as they said that so long as it wasn't smelly then not to worry. They apparently would rather she was leaking fluid than not for some reason. Think she is worried because it was more than usual, but then she has been drinking lots recently. Baby is still wriggling & she is not in any pain.

I told her to phone her midwife for reassurance if she is worried. Think she is planning on a restful day today

It's good that she's not in pain and baby still moving x and guess it shows baby is still producing fluid which is good x

Newtothisstuff · 18/02/2012 13:47

I've been following... Your poor sister must be beside herself.. Send our thoughts Smile

Pinkchampagne · 19/02/2012 11:53

Thank you, I will let her know she has lots of people thinking of her.Smile

She is still leaking fluid today. She thinks it may seem more as baby has moved from head down position to transverse so no longer blocking fluid in with it's head.
She has listened to heartbeat on her monitor this morning.

I'm glad she's doing okay and baby is hanging on. Yes, she has lots of people thinking of her - probably more even than you know about. I haven't posted before, but I've been following the thread and crossing my fingers for no-news-as-good-news, and am always pleased to see another day pass with bubba still hanging on in there. :)

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 19/02/2012 12:02

Sure I speak for everyone when I say we hope not to hear anything now for at least another ten weeks!!!! But it's great news baby still staying put where he/ she belongs and his/ chances get better and better every day and your sister has done great x who knows maybe pure collective will is playing a part too. X u all sound such a supportive family and he's one lucky well loved baby x

himynameisfred · 19/02/2012 13:25

Pinkchampagne, it's good to hear she's still hanging on.

I was angered at the hospitals reaction when it first happened, I feel they should have scanned immediately to check how much fluid was left.

Anyhow, it seems to be going better now?

Hope she's able to bed as much bedrest as possible, and she sounds lucky to have such a caring siter x

She went for bloods again today & they have gone up from 3 last week to 13 today, so she has to have them done again tomorrow & if they haven't gone down she will have to go back to hospital. She is worried sick.Sad

That's good news pink. Been checking the thread for news of your sister and baby. Glad that she is still holding on. xxx

Pinkchampagne · 23/02/2012 19:10

She has to go back on Sunday for another check, but for now she is so relieved. She was convinced she would have to go into hospital & had her bag packed ready. I am hoping to go & visit her again on Saturday, all being well.

Pinkchampagne · 27/02/2012 14:10

I looked after my nephew for my sister yesterday while she had her bloods done. They were gone a while as they had real trouble getting any blood from her, as she has had so much blood taken recently.

She has just messaged me the results & they are down to 4, which is an excellent result!Grin She has to have them done again on Wed, along with another scan. Wed will be the 28 week mark!
