She has had a stressful pregnancy. She has had bleeding problems from the start but every scan has showed that baby & placenta is ok. She is now just 24 weeks and has been losing fluid since 1pm today. She says she can still feel it moving around.

I am out of my mind with worry. The baby will be too little to stand a good chance of survival.Sad

She has her blood results now & they have gone down from 14 last week to 11 this week, so that is good!

Boggler · 10/02/2012 18:42

Any news on your sister? I hope everything's ok x

Pinkchampagne · 11/02/2012 11:54

She lost quite a bit of fluid again last night but has been told that it is to be expected & they see it as a good thing. She still hates it when it happens though. Other than that she seems to be doing ok. She has about 2 days worth of antibiotics before they run out. She is 25 weeks 3 days today

I'm afraid she may feel that a day of rest feels like a week, she may need some dvd boxettes, magazines etc. Leaking feels very disconcerting but I read somewhere that happens as baby is getting bigger therefore weeing more but could be swollowing it which is good. There are some happy stories of women at exactly the same stage as your sister with same problem on PROM facebook page. Third trimester soon every week, every day is to celebrate, with baby moving.

Pinkchampagne · 11/02/2012 13:13

Absolutely, mrsallcock! I am messaging her several times a day to check she is ok. She said her midwife phoned her yesterday to see how she was doing & to let her know she was thinking of her. My sister said it was the first time she actually felt cared about by any of the medical lot.

Bless her x it's awful that she doesn't feel ( and rightly so from what u have said) cared for at such a traumatic time x but she's done great to make it over a whole week and fingers toes and everything else crossed that the baby stays put x thinking of u all x

Pinkchampagne · 11/02/2012 14:28

Thank you. I have everything tightly crossed that baby stays put for as long as possible.

Pinkchampagne · 13/02/2012 12:16

That's good to hear, FC.Smile

Sorry, didn't update yesterday as had children with norovirus!Confused

My sister is still hanging on in there, thankfully. She claims to still be leaking water every day but said baby had hic cups for the first time this morning, which we are hoping is a positive sign. She is due for a scan on Wednesday, which will be on the day she reaches 26 weeks

My youngest has been really poorly with it. We had to take him to hospital yesterday as he was starting to get dehydrated.Sad

Anyway, week 26 for my sister today & also the day she has her bloods checked & her scan done. She is getting nervous about the scan, as it has been over 2 weeks since the last one.

Good news that your sister has made it to 26 weeks (well done her!) I had PROM at 24 weeks, two does of steroids, plenty of rest and my DS born at 29 1 weeks - he's currently running riot in the house a very boisterous clever and sporty boy aged 10 years. Tell her to hang on in there, Thinking of you all.

Tattymum · 15/02/2012 15:00

*doses!

Pinkchampagne · 15/02/2012 19:35

That's good to hear, Tattymum.Smile

My sister has had her scan (although the useless hospital didn't have her booked in for a scan when she got thereHmm) and her fluid levels were double what they were 2 weeks back. The baby is an average size for it's gestation, the placenta was fine & her blood results were good, so that's all reassuring.
She knows she is not out of the woods & things can change from one day to the next, but for today the news is good. Smile

She is now worried sick because she lost quite a bit of water again last night, as in soaked two maternity pads. She is scared all her water has now gone again. Guess this is to be expected though is it?
