She has had a stressful pregnancy. She has had bleeding problems from the start but every scan has showed that baby & placenta is ok. She is now just 24 weeks and has been losing fluid since 1pm today. She says she can still feel it moving around.

I am out of my mind with worry. The baby will be too little to stand a good chance of survival.Sad

Yes, 32 weeks is the cut off. Right now they want to leave baby inside, despite the bleeding, because baby's heart beat & growth are fine

She has come home now. She was going to stay in but they then moved to mothers with newborns into her ward & she found it really upsetting. She also said that the toilet looked like someone had slashed their wrists in it. I hope she is going to be ok.

I am starting to really dislike the hospital your sister is with pink :(

30 weeks is a fabulous achievement and it sounds as if 32 weeks is a real possibility now.. what a way to come from 23 weeks!

Pinkchampagne · 14/03/2012 18:54

My sister had to have an emergency c section today due to cord prolapse. She actually noticed the cord had started to slip out so quickly got on all fours and called an ambulance. She was then rushed to hospital & had an emergency section. They apparently didn't expect baby to survive but my nephew came out screaming and kicking, weighing 2lb 15oz.
My sister is in quite a bit of pain so has been given morphine. She has been through such an ordeal, bless her.Sad I hope my new nephew is going to be ok.

Kayzr · 14/03/2012 18:58

Your poor sister. Good thing she had noticed the cord.

I will keep everything crossed that she has a speedy recovery and that your nephew keeps being the fighter that he has been over the past few weeks.

Methe · 14/03/2012 19:04

Congratulations pinks sister and a HUGE well done for doing exactly the right thing and saving your sons life, you clever thing Grin I hope your son goes from strength to strength in Nicu. There will inevitably be some ups and downs and it is a long slog but SO worth it. The Bliss messsageboard is down at the moment but when it comes back it's great.
