HELP 5weeks 6days had scan baby heartbeat seen but no yolk sac

Hi basically sorry if tmi I had little bleeds when I wipe so doctors sent me for scan. Scan showed I'm 5weeks 6days we saw baby heartbeat but they couldn't see a till sac. I was wandering has anyone else experienced this and gone onto have a healthy pregnancy? they have rebooked me in for another scan and told me not 2 worry but can't help.

weeks 6 days is still very early so could be why they could see no sac. Hopfully someone more helpfull will be along soon but i would try not to worry, chances are you will see the sac when you have the next scan.

The lady ay epau did say they normal see the yolk sac 1st well fingers crossed someone comes along that has been in same situation. Thanks will try not 2 worry

I'm hoping so as the lady did say a fetus could not survive without the yolk sac as its there until plecenta forms. I just wanted to hear other people story as I have heard u can m/c if no yolk sac :(. And with the bleeding I justly got a bit worried now I can't wait for xmas to b over with

Not that long, just concentrate on taking things easy. I had bleeding from 6-10 weeks, had 3 scans, not sure if they saw a yolk sac or not. And only this morning I find out I'm having a boy and is 21 weeks now. So the worst possible scenarios can become the best. Just take things easy and don't give up just yet. Try your best not to worry, I know its very hard. But keep thinking positive

I was scanned at 5+6 days with my first child

was told was ectopic and needed a D&C

I refused and discharged myself - was dragged back to hospital 5 days later and there was my daughter, in the right place, heat beat etc :)

Try not to worry, you can't do any thing different, and good luck

Make sure you come back and let us know that all is well :)

(PS, we are probable due about the same time, 12th August?)

They have gave estimated date of the 9th august but they said it may change when I go for next scan. What a experience that was for you glad it went onto be a healthy pregnancy :).

That just shows doesn't it namechangerbat anything is possible if there's still a chance. U we're very lucky to of discharged yourself. Congratulations to everyone! :D

Hi just to add i have 3 children and have never seen a yolk sac! There has never been any present at any of my pg scans, i had to google it to see what they where talking about!lol it may be the fetus is obstructing the view. I know everyone is different so keep positive thoughts X

Thanks pinkbump its just they said to me that's 1st they look for if can't see a baby. Well will deff keep my thoughts positive I was thinking earlier maybe my bladder wasn't full as struggling with morning sickness so maybe that's why. I will deff try and go 2 my next scan with a full bladder that I will be running out of room dying for toilet Xmas Grin

Did they not do an internal scan, I've had an early scan this week for bleeding and was told that until 7 weeks it's hard to see everything because it's so small, I thought I was 7 weeks so they tried on top bit she said it wasn't clear and vaginal scans much clearer cause they get right in the correct place?

Good luck a hb has got to be good, fingers crossed for you:)

Hi goingmadtrying no they didn't do an internal scan which I have had done in previous pregnancies. If I'm honest the bloke scanning me seemed in a rush as it was very busy. I'm now looking at it that I saw heartbeat and with this horrible morning sickness it has to be a good sign :) how did your scan go hope it went well

If they didnt do an internal scan I'm surprised they could see anything. I had a TA at 6+5 and thought that was very early. Tbh if I were you I'd get a private one next week sometime because I'm sure with a proper look they'll say all's fine.

I thought about private scan but this time of year is a struggle. I will wait and see what they say on the 29th. Well I thought they may of done internal but as they saw the hb they prob thought there was no need 4 intrtnal. Will post back as soon as I know what is going on

Yes went well thank you I found I'm expecting twins!!!! I'm currently 6+5 weeks and got a clear pic of the yolks and both hb!! :). Fingers crossed for 29th dec for you :)

Are you sure they got a heartbeat at 5 weeks, 6 days? And with an external scan? It does sound a bit strange to me. Do you know what rate the heart was beating at? Sure it was not your heartbeat?

Larrygrylls I thought it may of been to early but there was deffinatly gest sac and what looked like fetus with the heartbeat flickering they gave me 5wks6days as a estimate but could change by the 12wk scan.. so hence reason I'm confused as to no yolk sac as from what I have read the yolk sac turns into the gut then the plecenta forms and takes over to give baby the right nutritents (sorry for all spelling mistakes Xmas Blush. I remember going with my dd2 and they said I was about 5.5wks but that changed by about a week when my 12wk scan came

In the early scans they are inaccurate and they can't date you until 12 weeks you may very well be further on than that . I had early scans with all of mine (this is my 3rd)
On my first they couldn't see anything and had a re- scan the could see the heart beat.with my 2nd we saw the heartbeat at 5 weeks.
i am going to be 11 weeks tomorrow I still dont have a proper due date I have my 12week scan on the 29th. I wouldn't worry you have seen you babies heartbeat anxious that is really positive.

I'm opposite too you i'm 5w 6d with a sac and a foetus and blood round my womb and they can't see a heartbeat!

I've been told to expect the worst. This will be my 2nd M/C in 5 months.

Had a bit of blood loss no pain.

Feel so depressed and scared. DD (4) is so excited for xmas so having to paint a fake smile on for her Xmas Sad .

Aww sorry to hear that foxyladee but like people have told me they could possibly have dates mixed up as its to early to date you so early. Are you having another scan?. Fingers crossed its a sticky baby and they have dates wrong
