I'm around 6-7 weeks pregnant and found out early last week, I was having bad period pains for most of last week and the odd bit of pink cm, pains have subsided apart from a couple of sharp pains, yesterday spotting everytime I went to the loo, so called gp and he referred me for an early scan, just waiting to hear when, anyhow went loo this morning and more of a bleed when wiping. I just have a horrible feeling it's going to go wrong, I've told a few of my close friends and our immediate family so thinking I'm going to have to tell all those people, it's our third dc so really thought it would be ok:(

when I went to gp he mentioned that when I had my smear last month the nurse has noted my cervix was swollen and had a bit of bleeding when she did it so he thinks my cervix may just need to settle down.

Feeling really nervous and sad :(

No advice goingmad but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you, hopefully everything will be fine for you. I had the same sorts of pains around 7 weeks, ds is currently sat on the floor playing with his toys! So it doesn't always mean things are going wrong. Just wait for the scan, and if anything bad has happened don't worry about having to tell people, you can alway just tell 1 person and ask them to let the others know so you don't have to. Sending big hugs your way xx

mzundastood · 09/12/2011 08:16

Hey Goingmad,

Hope you are ok sending you hugs let us know how you get on. As Rockchick said I am sure you will be ok, I know easy for me to say. Do not worry about telling other people! Just try to stay calm I know how hard that is, I hope it is all ok xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi going ,i really really hope everything is ok,i have everything crossed for you xxx

Impatientwino · 09/12/2011 18:00

Hi I am 6+5 and had terrible cramps and a big bleed yesterday, went to hospital and they scanned me and my baby was fine, really strong heartbeat and all as it should be. They said that bleeds are really common and often are from your cervix as it is so full of blood.
I have had a small amount of blood overnight and today but have been in bed all day resting.

All I'm saying is don't give up hope, I did yesterday and the scan proved different. If you can't wait until Wednesday then go to hospital and ask to be scanned

goingmadtrying · 09/12/2011 18:12

Thanks belle and my beautifully blooming virtual friend mrss :)

impatient thank you so much I have called them today and explained that bleeding is more and they will call me if they get any cancellations before wenesday, am hoping it is my cervix, as I said the gp said it was swollen and had some bleeding with smear before pg so hoping it's just sensitive, lovely to hear your scan went so well :) and that you saw the hb just holding on now till wednesday Hmm

Just thought a happy ending might give you some hope, I hope your scan goes well x

kiki22 · 10/12/2011 00:47

About your bad feeling... i had a bleed at 6 weeks and had a bad feeling infact i knew that the baby was gone i just knew it but am now 33 weeks with the same pregnancy so try not to worry about having a feeling about whats going to happen it will make you feel worse. good luck x

PoppySeed34 · 10/12/2011 11:28

sending you a big hug and keeping my fingers crossed. I'm in exactly the same position, except I think I'm just about 6 weeks. Scan on same day, too. hope you get a cancellation. x x x

Marne · 10/12/2011 11:49

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I bled at 6 weeks with both my pregnancies and it was very similar to what you describe, eventually i was diagnosed with cervix erosion (sp), i went on to gave heathy babbies. Try not to worry, chances are (from what you have described) its more a problem with your cervix which will not effect the baby. Hopfully you can have a scan to see if baby is ok.

Marne · 10/12/2011 11:50

Oh, and i also had a lot of pains which turned out to be a cyst which disapeared later in the pregnancy (apparently this happens offten).

goingmadtrying · 10/12/2011 12:42

Thank you all :)

whispers no spotting today :) ssshh don't want to jinx it

nearly was sick in asda today just the sight of raw meant bleugh!!!!

It really means a lot to here all your stories :)

maybe I jut have a dodgy cervix normally bleed around 7 weeks so maybe it's just a normal thing for me, although doesn't make it any less scary!!!

poppy fingers crossed for you to we can hold hands together :)

it's really reassuring reading everyone's stories..

very glad there's no more spotting today goingmadtrying think positive thoughts :) and fingers crossed it stays that way...

and we can most definitely hold hands together.. Thanks Brew

Hopefully the next few days will go quickly and uneventfully... :) and I also hope you can rest up this weekend, and take it easy. x x

mrsshears · 10/12/2011 18:00

That's great news goingSmile

VickityBoo · 10/12/2011 18:24

Hi. Someone I know had lots of bleeding in her first few months, was checked and monitored and although I'm not sure what caused it, I know that baby arrived safely!

Good luck, I'll keep fingers crossed that it's something relatively normal.

VickityBoo · 10/12/2011 18:25

Oh Marne I had an ovarian cyst - so painful. I thought the worst one day until it subsided.

goingmadtrying · 10/12/2011 20:07

Ok ladies just been loo and quite a bit of blood after wee when wiping:( no wetness on knickers (sorry if tmi) and nothing actually in wee Hmm

would the blood only be coming when I wee if having mc?? It's like it's only when my cervix bears down on the toilet that I get anything, grrrr this is winding me up just wish I knew either way :(

I'm at work all weekend which should be taking my mind off things but I struggle to keep a secret and I'm bursting to tell my colleague who I work closely with but don't want to say anything.

Please give me some hope this is just normal!!!!

OP posts:
VickityBoo · 10/12/2011 20:12

Could you tell your colleague so you have some support?

Marne · 10/12/2011 20:15

If you are just bleeding when you we then yes its possible that its your cirvix and straining is causing the bleeding. I bled every time i went for a no 2 when pg with dd2. Is the blood more like fresh blood (from a cut) rather than period blood?

I think you should phone in sick tomorrow and put your feet up (i was told this after i had a bleed so ended up with my feet up a lot). Keeping my fingers crossed for you that its just cervix errosion. Try not to panic (i know its hard).

goingmadtrying · 10/12/2011 20:19

Can't say anything at work yet?

Thanks Marne yes has varied between bright red and then brown, nothing really like period?? Literally when a wipe nothing more and gets less the more I wipe if that makes sense, I'm the most senior manager at work and would cause some problems and questions if i rung in sick, will take it easy in morning and then stay sitting down at work, it's so frustrating :(

OP posts:
Marne · 10/12/2011 20:25

Sounds very similar to the bleeding i had, it really does sound like a cervix problem (i always bleed when i have a smear too), mine was a lot worse with my 2nd pregnany (bled on and off all the way through). Hopfully you will have your mind put at rest soon (the waiting is so hard).

goingmadtrying · 10/12/2011 21:53

It's got to be a good thing that I've got pg symptoms and my cervix has moved up right???

I hate the not knowing :(
