Someone said that there is a must have pram blanket that is £48, anyone have any idea?

I'm thinking of it as a gift for a friend.

thank you -

£48 pounds for a blanket?? WTF does it do? Sing to you? Light up?

Sheer lunacy if you ask me. I wouldn't pay that much for a full sized blanket never mind a teeny tiny one.

Natzer · 18/11/2011 16:25

I know exactly what you mean. But someone mentioned it to me and I am intrigued. I have a very good friend who likes to have everything.

I bet she has a £900 super pram to put it in too.

The power of marketing, eh?

Surely with 50 quid you could buy her something more useful though.

Flisspaps · 18/11/2011 16:31

£48 for something that's going to get sick, dribble, snot, a host of foods and probably wee or poo on it as well?

You are a very generous friend if you're thinking about buying this, but let me tell you - at that price for a blanket it is NOT a must-have item. Must-have items are nappies, babygros, vests and more nappies.

BelleRomford74 · 18/11/2011 16:39

I am a bit of a blanket freak & the one I drool over is in Mammas & Pappas for £36 so I won't feel too bad now if I get it out of any christmas money I get from family!!! lol but £48 seriously bit ott!! x

Natzer · 18/11/2011 16:39

I know I know - don't hang me.

She bought me a yummy mummy bag (£75) last year when I was pregnant and I want to return the favour.

Once her baby comes she won't be able to afford things like this believe me so I just wanted to buy something special. thats all.

Oh belle just saw your message, is your blanket the one Ive linked to? If yes its on sale grab it fast Wink

CinnamonStar · 18/11/2011 16:46

I was given this one here and would definitely recommend it for a winter baby - no need to faff around with coats or snowsuits etc. But it doesn't cost as much as yours Grin

Eglu · 18/11/2011 16:46

I know of a company that does lovely personalised lambswool or cashmere blankets. The lambswool ones would fall into that price area. Atvleast you are paying the price for something individual. Will try to link but am on phone.

I see that striped knitted M&P blanket everywhere I go.

Everywhere, I tell you.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/11/2011 17:16

Yep, reckon its the M&P one.

Natzer · 18/11/2011 19:06

Furry Fox, that is gorgeous, whether its the one that is a "must have" or not its lovely. I would buy one for myself if my dd wasn't 7 months old! Grin

HugosGoatee · 18/11/2011 19:09

Oh no is the M and P one really common? I really want it and am delighted to see it's on sale!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/11/2011 19:12

I've never seen that M&P one, but it was just the first place I thought of when I read the OP.

FurryFox · 18/11/2011 20:19

Natzer it's gorgeous isn't it, looks all warm and snuggly.

OhBuggerandArse · 18/11/2011 20:24

I'd rather have this one. & even though it's Brora, it's cheaper!

Chandeleria · 18/11/2011 20:25

I really wanted that M&P stripy blanket when I was pg, its been around ages and was in all the mother and baby type magazines. I see it around lots and always think that I still sort of wish I had bought it, it just seemed too expensive at the time but then so many people have it I don't mind.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/11/2011 20:29

Chandeleria - I know exactly which one you mean. Fortunately for bank account-- Sadly I didn't discover M&P until DS was a year old! (then I bought the best buggy ever)

Slainte · 18/11/2011 20:31

Sorry Hugos that stripey blanket is everywhere.

Chandeleria · 18/11/2011 20:33

Yeah, its this one and I'm pretty sure I lusted after it as far back as 2008, so its been around ages but seems ever popular.

BarnMummy · 18/11/2011 20:39

If you wanted something that will feel absolutely gorgeous you could try this - it's not showy, but a really lovely (and generous) present...

notso · 18/11/2011 20:46

I went for this one over the Gingerbbread one and everyone comments on how lovely it is.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 18/11/2011 20:48

Yep, that's the one :)
