Just had a big argument with DH who is stil away. Not felt baby move much today. DH is saying I shouldn't want to go into labour yet which obviously I din't but I'm terrified something's wrong.

I've been trying to relax and monitor for movement but interuptions from my mum and dd havn't helped. No kicks btw. DH thinks the count the kicks thing is just a way to spread panic hence me shouting at him over the phone. I know anxiety won't help but feel really anxious.

You don't say how far into your pregnancy you are??... As often movement slows down in last few weeks as baby has no room to kick etc.. but Count the kicks campaign is very important!! It is your body & if you are at all worried go in & be monitored. Or you will not relax this evening & thats not good for you.

P.S dh should really be more supportive!!

Crosshair · 15/11/2011 17:16

Even if you dont have kicks you should have movement. Give her a ring for some preace of mind if nothing else.

Crosshair · 15/11/2011 17:16

peace*

MyOtherNameIsBetter · 15/11/2011 17:16

Yes, of course you should call the midwife if you are terrified. Then have a lie down infront of the telly and try to relax, ignore DH - he doesn't sound very sympathetic at the mo! Can you talk to your mum and tell her your worries and that you need some peace & quiet?

How many weeks are you?

Minus273 · 15/11/2011 17:18

I'm 36+4. My mum just tutted when I mentioned it :(

Call the midwife.

Crosshair · 15/11/2011 17:20

Yep at 36+4 definitely give her a call.

ManCrushedToDeathByALift · 15/11/2011 17:21

call the midwife NOW. Ignore your family.

GobblersKnob · 15/11/2011 17:21

Have a very cold drink and something very sweet.

Lie down and wait, while waiting call the midwife.

lucidlady · 15/11/2011 17:22

Agree with cupoftea - please ring midwife or hospital asap. Try having a cold drink too, that can often make baby move. Take care and tell your mum and DH to sod off, they do NOT know what they're talking about!

Minus273 · 15/11/2011 17:26

I've just told my mum will serve DDs dinner, timer about to go then call. Better than setting fire to kitchen.

You should definitely call. There was a thread yesterday (?-maybe Sunday) in Chat about the importance of Count the Kicks (by a poster called RandomNess) and the lack of awareness and it really, really is imperative you get checked out. Tonight.

Please xx

TheRealMBJ · 15/11/2011 18:00

Call her. Now.

HerdOfTinyElephants · 15/11/2011 18:00

Call the midwife. You are worried, and it's far, far better to be safe rather than sorry.

PippiLongBottom · 15/11/2011 18:03

Don't even call the midwife, just present at your maternity hospital to get on the monitor. Hope all is ok x

Minus273 · 15/11/2011 18:12

Off to matunit.
