Just had a big argument with DH who is stil away. Not felt baby move much today. DH is saying I shouldn't want to go into labour yet which obviously I din't but I'm terrified something's wrong.

I've been trying to relax and monitor for movement but interuptions from my mum and dd havn't helped. No kicks btw. DH thinks the count the kicks thing is just a way to spread panic hence me shouting at him over the phone. I know anxiety won't help but feel really anxious.

Typing on last post awful. Blush

They were quiet so seen quickly. When they hooked me up to monitor they could hear movement I couldn't feel. About half way through it was as if she was trying to kick the monitor off :) more kicks than the past 24 hrs. Her heart rate was good too. Her head is in a good position too. MW was lovely.

Glad everything was ok.

Always better to be on the safe side - put your feet up now

Minus - it's always the way! But so so SO much better than it being the other way - and the midwives don't mind. Glad you stuck to your guns and all's well with your baby.

Minus273 · 15/11/2011 20:57

That's what the MW said. She said she'd rather spend some time to be able to tell a mum the baby is OK rather than ignore concerns and miss something. She really was lovely and cheery.

Glad you went. Glad Mumsnet is here so that all these women can tell you to ignore the tuts and go check it out.

TheRealMBJ · 15/11/2011 20:59

Smile so glad to hear that.

ManCrushedToDeathByALift · 15/11/2011 21:04

Good on you minus, glad all is well and your mind is at rest xxx

Catsycat · 15/11/2011 21:33

Hope you are OK - they would much rather see you at the maternity unit, than have you sit at home worrying.

LAbaby · 15/11/2011 21:45

Good decision. I felt like a drama queen when I went to get checked out at 39+2, but they decided to induce there and then - counting the kicks might have saved my babies life and now I have a happy four month old squealing next to me.

HerdOfTinyElephants · 15/11/2011 21:48

Phew! Absolutely the right decision -- 95 times out of 100 it will be just as you experienced, but it's worth the checks to catch the cases where there is a problem and then every minute can count. Well done for not ignoring your own concerns.

PippiLongBottom · 15/11/2011 22:01

Really glad to hear that all is well.

marthamay · 16/11/2011 15:01

phew! Glad to hear and so glad you went in.

fanjodisfuction · 16/11/2011 15:10

Im so glad you got it checked out, you should never feel like you are wasting the midwifes time thats what they are there for.

GobblersKnob · 16/11/2011 17:25

So glad everything was okay, was thinking about you earlier.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 16/11/2011 18:39

Phew, hurray for that! Was worried about you. Good luck for the birth!

Listzilla · 16/11/2011 20:08

Well done you for ignoring your mum and DH and doing the right thing : ) Your midwife sounds lovely!

BelleRomford74 · 16/11/2011 20:10

Great news x

Wolfiefan · 16/11/2011 20:13

Hope all well. I never felt mine much at the very end and worried myself sick about it countless times.xxx

Minus273 · 16/11/2011 20:14

Been moving a lot more today as if making up for scaring me yesterday. A couple more days and it won't matter too much is I go into labour, hoping to last a week until Dh finished work and travelled home though. I need him to move some furniture before I give birth Grin.
