Microgynon - How long from stopping to getting pregnant?

DP and I are hoping to TTC in about 6months to a year. DS is 16 weeks old and we would like them close together. Im on POP at the min but practically bleeding all the time.

I was on Microgynon previously and that had no real side effects for me.

So basically how long from coming off Microgynon to getting pregnant? Also any one had any problems on it?

The first time (after I'd been on it for several years): about 5 months.

Second time, I'd only been on it for a year: 1 month.

I came off it 6 mo before ttc, I had to because of migraines. We used condoms in the meantime but my cycles returned to normal straight away, I know because I was temping in preparation for ttc. When we did start trying, I got pg on the first cycle.

I have been taking Microgynon for 8 years, never missed a pill and have never been on antibiotics. I came off it for my 7 day break and when no period showed went to the Docs who said I was pregnant. From reading the above it doesn't seem to be the most reliable pill lol. Good luck xx

Never had any problem with Microgynon. Took it for 4 years and in fact loved being on it as it resolved a lot of ongoing problems for me.

Was pregnant within 2 weeks of coming off it and baby is due in 2 days!!! Good Luck x

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I was on microgynon for 8 years. I took a year for my periods to return to normal, and I'm not even going to tell you how long it took to get pg.
No contraceptive is ever 100% effective - other than not having sex!!

I was on Microgynon for 6 years, never had any problems on it. My husband and i wanted to try for a baby so i came off it expecting it would take up to a year to get pregnant, but got pregnant after 1 cycle! Very pleased it happend so quickly, and im now 21 weeks pregnant :)

I was on it when i got pregnant aswell!

18.5 weeks now ;-) very happy surprise!

I do have gallstones though and was puking up quite a lot at the time, i took my pill religiously though in the morning and chucked up sometimes at night so i thought it would be well digested by then lol

I was on it for 12 years, came off it and used condoms for 2 months before TTC. Once we started trying it took us 6 months to get pregnant.

I came off it again 3 months ago and we started TTC baby number 2 straight away. Nothing yet...

Seriously though, it could take one try, or it could take longer. Apparently when you come off the combined pill, your usual fertility should return immediately (although your cycle might take a while to settle into a regular pattern) so your chances are the same as someone who has not just come off the pill.

If you do not have any fertility problems and are not over 35 then you probably have a 20% chance each month, so you may well get lucky or you may be waiting 6-12 months. Think of it like rolling a dice!

I took it for about 9 years, stopped 3m before ttc, and concieved 2m into trying Grin
Didnt use any contraception between DS and DC2, concieved when he was 9m old. Really hated having proper periods in that time!!
Looking forward to going back on it after DC2 is born!

I was on microgygon for 7 years and got pregnant within 6 weeks after stopping.

About 2 days, theoretically.

That's why you can pregnant from 1-2 missed pills.

Was on it for years, then went onto injection. From injection, to implant, and then back onto microgynon. When I stopped taking it, we had one month of using condoms, then I got pregnant about six weeks later.

I have been on microgynon for 4yrs.
Istopped 3weeks ago and started taking folic acid hoping.Had sex on my ovulation day on 28th November hoping to get pregnant but i didn't only to see menstruation.
Could something be wrong with me?
This is my first menstruation i have since i went of the pill
Can i get pregnant if i try again?

Was on it for 7 years. Took me 12 months.
I have a cycle double the length of a normal one so ovulate half as much as anyone else.

13 months for me. 8 months before my periods went back to normal, then another 5 before I conceived.
I didn’t go back on the pill afterwards and my subsequent 2 pregnancies happened the first month of trying.
