Stretch & Sweep

I am booked in for a stretch and sweep in about 2 and a half weeks, and quite frankly, i'm terrified!

I'm hoping that i will go into labour naturally before then but if not, does it hurt as much as people say??

And if you have previously had one, how long did it take for you to go into labour?

Ooh, it is exciting on this thread now. Can't wait to meet the babies in the next few days or weeks ! Grin

localcrackpot · 12/11/2011 22:18

pilots because of your post I am about to follow your example and get bouncing. Think baby crackpot may have decided to wait until she falls out! Confused
Grin

localcrackpot · 12/11/2011 22:19

Good luck to you too btw! Grin

SpicyMeatball · 12/11/2011 22:52

I'm also planning on stealing back the space hopper i give to my little sister a few years ago (if she doesn't mind!), hopefully it'll do the same job Grin

Some fairly serious pain this morning! Hoping it continues and ramps up into the real thing :) I'm meant to be going round the corner to sing Happy Birthday to my grandma at 1pm (her birthday's tomorrow) so will be interesting to see if we make it! I'm sure she'd prefer to see three of us tomorrow Grin

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 13/11/2011 13:10

Ahhh - Could be a birthday baby crackpot !

pilotsprincess · 13/11/2011 14:39

local im excited for you! good luck, hope your baby is with you very soon!
I ended up in the bath at 4 am with agonising back pain, took 2 paracetamol and sat in a warm bath and it eased off, woke up achey this morning so going for a walk now :)
Hoping its not long for all of us ladies!!

Pastabee · 13/11/2011 15:22

I do hope so pillot. I had hoped baby pilot would have arrived in the night.... I'll keep everything crossed for you and local.

Going to try and walk baby pasta out now but really doesn't feel like it knows it's due this week!

How is baby spicy today?

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 13/11/2011 15:46

If you're keeping everything crossed Pasta then you've got to expect s/he might be a bit late ! Wink

Pastabee · 13/11/2011 16:01

Lol juggling. I hadn't thought of that. You are quite correct!

localcrackpot · 13/11/2011 16:25

Hello - no sign of little crackpot yet. Still having some fairly intense period-type pain fairly constantly (and TMI: the world's longest bloody show- I think a percentage of the bump must be mucus) but no proper contractions. Have tried bouncing but to no avail. Feel a bit far gone to suggest DTD to DH - if I was 3cm dilated yesterday I've no idea where I must be up to now...

Thinking of you all, hope those of you ready to pop are happily further along than me!

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 13/11/2011 16:57

Ooh crackpot - sounds like all systems go to me - good luck Smile

localcrackpot · 13/11/2011 17:44

Thanks. Hurts like fuck but only occasionally need it to be regular then will feel vindicated! :)

SpicyMeatball · 13/11/2011 17:53

I'm getting so excited for all these babies Grin

I've actually been in quite a bit of pain today, i'm starting to think i wont make my stretch and sweep appointment!
Hope it's not too early if anything happens soon though.

Anyone else feeling fat and fed up?? Huff..

I've had 3. A bit uncomfortable I suppose but nothing much. I am going for one on Wed with DC4 so with you in spirit! But having had 3 before am not in the least worried about it at all - because it really isn't bad. And for info I went into labour 24 hours afterwards with DC1, 12 hours afterwards with DC2 and 2 hours afterward with DC3. So maybe should stay in the hospital this Wed?!

issynoko · 13/11/2011 18:03

Good luck by the way. IT's all worth it - honest!

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 13/11/2011 18:04

"Hurts like fuck but only occasionally" Now, does that sound like something I remember ?! ... Hope it settles into something useful crackpot Smile

JugglingWithGoldandMyrhh · 13/11/2011 18:12

And come on baby spice !

pilotsprincess · 13/11/2011 18:30

come on babies!! ooh looking forward to some birth announcements on this thread soon, including my own..please come on out little miss. maybe begging and crying will help?!

good luck on weds issynoko - maybe 1 hr for u this time?!

oh this thread is cheering me up, dont feel so alone with my elephant ankles, heartburn and the rest of it that comes with the end of pregnancy!
The end is in sight for us..now x factor results and some fruit pastilles for me tonight!

SpicyMeatball · 13/11/2011 18:33

Thanks issynoko :) sounds like you might not have time to leave this time around! Grin good luck for wednesday!

Do you think it hurts less if you have already lost your mucus plug?

OP posts:
SpicyMeatball · 13/11/2011 18:35

Oh i forgot it was sunday! Might have to order a pizza to cheer myself up Grin

OP posts:
pilotsprincess · 13/11/2011 18:45

spicy - order 2, u never know it could be 'the last supper'!!

SpicyMeatball · 13/11/2011 18:49

Haha! That sounds like a plan. Eat both my pizzas while bouncing on the ball! Multi tasking Wink!

OP posts:
issynoko · 13/11/2011 18:50

Thanks all! Spicy - not sure about the mucus plug - have never noticed one so that bit has always remained a bit of a mystery for me. I just know I find hefting myself over in bed is more of a pain than the sweep was. So hope I'm not eating my words on Wed! Good luck to all and enjoy your pizza!

SpicyMeatball · 13/11/2011 19:25

Thanks issynoko :) i have midwife on friday so i'll have to write down a list of questions.
