Ah yes sarge, some of the things they should teach u in sex ed at school!!
I remember waddling about after barely being able to seperate my legs. Also had big trouble trying to hold wind in :-o
reflexology 2moro, just wish it was in the morning
haha to send a pic of ur show out to ur friend! Something i would not b brave enough to do!
Tmi alert..... Have had the odd day with a few trips to the loo, others feeling constipated (like today), but y am i analyzing every little thing now? With dd i didnt take lots of trips to loo (actually thought i needed a pooh, not push!), whereas with ds my system got emptied towards the beginning. So either way it doesnt actually show a sign of going into labour- 4 me anyway.
I must stop analyzing!!!!

Am loving this thread! I'm 41+2 - only a few more days until I am induced which I really dont want... so am praying I get some of these signs soon and get my home birth!

Well aware I'm probably about to be laughed off Mumsnet and that this probably sounds ridiculous - but did anyone get hip pain before going into labour...a kind of really quick stabbing pain every so often?! Its different to the aching I get when I'm uncomfortable in bed, and has only started over the past few days! Am desperate for this baby to come out by itself so am probably thinking far too much about every little twinge!!

Also, does everyone have a show? Not had one yet :-(

jimmijam · 03/09/2011 19:52

Ah bless ua, u r not gettin laughed at 4 that? I have no idea about the hip pain im afraid. Not everyone does notice a show, and some ppl dont get 1 til theyre in labour- with our 2nd i didnt get 1 til the morning i went into labour x

This is a really interesting thread.
Im 36 weeks. Ive been experencing period style pain today (on and off) but not having any shows, other than a lot of clear discharge that ive had all the way through.

with DS was just use classic period pain, mild contraction's for about 2 days she one almighty one, loud pop and waters went. told to have a potter by midwife and think about making my way in, went straight to hospital, glad i did as contraction's immediately went from every 7 to every 2 minutes. currently 37 week, had on and off contraction's for most of last 2 days. every 10 minute last night so finished hospital bag and bingo all stopped! uncomfortable night followed by explosion on Loo this morning. strong BH this morning. have a party to take DS too today, consultant Monday and DS starts pre-school Monday so can't have it yet! think because last one too so long to crank up a gear I'm more laid back, joked with a friend i would be one of those you read about who has baby on the Loo!

dribbleface · 10/09/2011 07:57

Excuse typo's on phone with Ds bouncing on bed next to me!

jimmijam · 10/09/2011 10:30

Well, I havn't posted on here for a while, because I had to stay in hospital for over a week!!

Think I mentioned on an earlier post that baby was transverse lie, since about 36 weeks.

Well they admitted me, and were gonna give me a c section ( which I got told everyday hat would happen, for the week I was in)

Had to have baby turned ( ECV) three times during the week, but he went straight back to transverse lie.

So.... last wednesday, they turned baby, kept his head down, broke my waters, and stuck me on a drip to induce me. 4 hours later he was born.
Aaron Joseph - 9lb. ( at 40 +3)

So, first sign of going into labour this time, was a doctors hand inside my closed cervix. followed by a long knitting needle attempting to break my waters ( doc said toughest she'd ever tried to break).
Then a drip attatched to my wrist. Followed by sheer panic, of what to expect!!!

Anyone else popped since I've been on my little hospital holiday?

jimmijam · 12/09/2011 22:52

Congrats del! Well my little manwas born a few hoours after my last post- 10th weighing 8lb 11oz @ 8.12pm. 3days late by original date, 7days late by scan dates.
Thouhht my cs scar was splitting so went 2 hospital. Turns out i was 4cm,.they broke my waters i went straight 2 6cm. Perhaps the
1st signs may have been a big shoe followed by st strong bh or irregular contractions 4 a coiple of days

Congratulations del1 and jimmijam!!

Have been lurking on this thread, am 38 +2 and hoping she comes soon so really enjoying reading everyone's experiences :)
Have had loads of irregular tightenings when whole bump goes really hard for past few days, midwife said it could be early labour but haven't really had anything else so probably just BH.
Am also on 'preeclampsia watch' so may end up being induced - even more reason why I want her to come soon!!

jimmijam · 13/09/2011 12:57

Haha just read my post bk, oh dear 2 the typos!! I meant show not shoe!
He was only 3/5 engaged wen i went into labour too
yummy..ooh last wait is so hard, looking out 4 every possible sign, would imagine even more so 4 u with ur preeclampsia and looming induction :-( hopefuly u wont need induction, but the main thing is that ur both healthy x

I woke up at 2.00am feeling strange. Went to lie on the sofa and waters broke (or so i thought) Went back in bedroom, told DP who said get back into bed. So I did, then 5 mins later my waters REALLY broke. Contractions came on extremely strong very quickly. By time we got to hospital a couple of hours later I was 8cm......thinking about it I was having twinges for a couple of days previously. But with your first you just don't really know.

PeachyWhoCannotType · 29/09/2011 22:00

DS1- induced
DS2- contractions that stopped and started for a few days, got so bored at one point that Dh adn I dischargd me from hospital adnw ent to the garden centre LOL
ds3- cotractions late evening getting steadier and faster

With none of the above did my waters go before full dilation and I never have had a show

DS4- contractions after having a smallw ater leak a few days previously but I do eman very small, waters drained slowly and whole thing lasted 35 mins start to finish

PeachyWhoCannotType · 29/09/2011 22:01

Congrats jimmijam
