Heeeere am I floating in a tin can....

Yes, I have sat and sobbed to Space Oddity.
Poor Major Tom!

I also cried while feeding the cat because he "looked hungry".

What are your shameful sob stories?

I cried yesterday when my DH was going out for a couple of hours, gave me a kiss and I just burst into tears, no real reason why. DH looked at me, and asked 'if he had done something wrong?' which made it even worse and made me cry more. Funnily enough within a minute of him leaving I was fine, couldn't see what all the fuss was about.

i cried at the x factor last night but i do that every yr Blush i cried at myself because i couldnt get my arm in my sleeve yeterday Blush just something that is normally so easy and the damn thing kept waggling about instead of letting my arm in i got so frustrated!

My most shaming one was at a fruit smoothie stall. The woman asked me if I wanted double fruit for an extra 50p and I couldn't work it out. I felt bad for spending money unnecessarily (just for context - we can stretch to a fruit smoothie without undue worry) but the possibility of not having the extra berries made me feel deprived and unloved, so I burst into tears Blush

Quite reasonably, the poor woman could not work out what had just happened, but fortunately DH recognised it for what it was, asked her to repeat the question and said yes to the expense of extra berries, thus resolving the issue.

I also (more worryingly and embarrassingly) get a bit upset by my line manager. He's very tall and he speaks very firmly, and if he says something I don't like I really struggle not to cry. Think I've only cried in front of him two or three times while preggers....

I cried buckets because I was briefly reminded by something totally unrelated of Mr Spock dying in Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan. Never mind that I wasn't watching it at the time or that the movie was about 30 years old Hmm

When I was heavily pregnant I couldn't watch 'You've Been Framed' as I was reduced to helpless sobbing by all the people falling over! Never, ever watched the news either for obvious reasons! Being a soon-to-be-mother makes you the mother of the world...or something.

I've got misty eyed at reading some of these entries!!

One time that really sticks out for me is while driving in the car with the husband I saw a girl walking a puppy German Shepard. Two seconds later I was sobbing my eyes out because it reminded me of my childhood dog who had to be put down because he was poorly.

When pregnant with DD1 I cried at the M and S food ads such a waste of foo-ooo-oood

And when DH once handed me the remote upside down so I had to 6turn it round before I could use it^

DD2, I cried when my car got stolen. Hysterics in teh street with DD1 ina carrier on my back. A little old lady came hobbling out of her house witha tissue and some water.
Then I remembered I had parked my car the next street over.

Because DH came home with the wrong brand of tinned peas for my craving. Also the pizza restaurant had no anchovies for my anchovy and pineapple pizza!

There is something about the elderly that just makes me well up all the time..

Not even sure if I was pregnancy actually but was in front of a little old man buying about 5 things in a supermarket queue and just as we were walking away, he dropped a jar of sauce trying to put it in his bag and it smashed everywhere... I got so worried and sad that I waited to make sure the supermarket would replace it without charging him as he looked so helpless... they did which was great, otherwise I was quite prepared to pay for the broken one so he could afford to buy a new one (nothing about him looked like he had no cash by the way, just the look on his face...) Oh, it's making me tear up a bit now and at least can blame pregnancy now!

I cried for an hour when a famous horse died racing (5 yrs ago, can't even remember it's name now!). I continued to cry on and off about it for several days afterwards, it was like when you lose a pet Blush

CheerfulYank · 21/08/2011 22:47

Aww, skillbo ! I could burst into tears about that right now!
