Heeeere am I floating in a tin can....

Yes, I have sat and sobbed to Space Oddity.
Poor Major Tom!

I also cried while feeding the cat because he "looked hungry".

What are your shameful sob stories?

Do you know Harvey the dog from the tv ad? He advertises himself as a perfect dog to be adopted.... so once I started watching Midsummer Murders, with the anticipation that Harvey would appear in one of the breaks (the ad was always there, love the dog, cannot help it). To my sheer disappointment he was not there! ( cried a river...)

I cried a couple of times when I saw people cycling... my beloved bike is in storage as I cannot cycle now...

I cried when my husband cooked me a lovely supper and i couldn't eat it, as it tasted vile...

Oh my god, I cry (or at least tear up) at most of these things whether pregnant or not!

BakingBunty · 18/08/2011 19:33

I sobbed whilst watching the Les Miserables montage during the Royal Variety Performance. Those poor French people! Those lovely voices! And this from someone who hates musicals...

This thread has made me cry, but with laughter. I'm a very grumpy 39+5, so thank you all!

My OH cooked tea and gave me the end of the pack of garden peas which I didn't like and he had the new pack which were petit pois. Sounds odd, but I like mine cooked in a pan for a few mins, he pours boiling water over his peas and declares them cooked for him.

The cot not arriving and the company didn't inform us that it was out of stock and wouldn't be coming at all.

Last night I cried because OH mentioned the amount of loo roll we had used!

I could go on and on and on!

38weeks and so I have possibly a few more weeks of joyous outbursts :)

I cried at the Dulux ad - with the dog running - because it reminded me of The Littlest Hobo. And I don't even like dogs.

Anything on the news

I'm so relieved to read this thread. My OH is convinced I'm bonkers!

Rush hour in London - 2 people being rude to each other as they elbowed their way onto a bus. I cried because I didn't know "why people just can't be nicer to each other in this world..."

Pregnancy is such a departure from my usual hard-arsed cynical self.

I cried at my friend's DD's sports day whilst telling the story of a boy with leukemia at my school when I was 5 who won the only race he ran and died shortly afterwards (I remember so vividly seeing him come in first and he had no hair because it'd all fallen out). That was the first time I really sobbed in this pregnancy (have done so practically every day since, it's a standing joke at work now - she's off again!) and someone I used to work with came up to congratulate me and ask how I was feeling to be greeted by me smiling at being so happy to be pregnant whilst hyperventilating with big fat tears rolling down my cheeks - utterly bonkers.
Last crying was actually yesterday when my boss's 6yr old niece found out I was pregnant and that I was due on 21st December. She said "that'll be the best christmas present ever". And I agreed, bursting into tears - she was hurried out of the room at that point. Good job else I might have drowned her :)

Er, explain the windfarm, Foots? :o

PoppysMom · 19/08/2011 04:55

Yesterday my bus took me past part of the F1 track in Singapore.
They were building the grandstand, had the cordon rail things that stop spectators walking on the track set up, as well as the huge lights (nightrace)
I couldn't stop crying at the thought of the atmosphere that will be when the race is on.

I don't even like F1 and will only go, as it is my DH's 40th birthday present Hmm

I cried when the men arrived to fit my new carpets because I decided I didn't like them Blush
The poor fitter was standing outside in the pouring rain trying to persuade me to let him take them in so i could look at them on the floor.
Once they were down I loved them.

OrangeGloss · 19/08/2011 06:35

I cried uncontrollably watching Dumbo when he and his mother are separated, and only really stopped at the end when they were reunited

I also cried buckets when we'd packed the car up to drive back from our holiday, which I've never done before

CheerfulYank · 19/08/2011 06:40

My friends and I were going to get together and watch a video we made of all of us acting like loons in our first year of college. I cried because I didn't want to see myself being so stupid.

Once I cried because DH farted in our bedroom and it smelled sooooooo terrible!

And I howled over that James Herriot story with the neglected golden retriever. They're going to put him down, and then an old lady volunteers to take him and nurses him back to help. And every time she sees the vet she says "Mr Herriot, haven't I made a difference to this dog!"

CheerfulYank · 19/08/2011 06:42

Back to health , FFS.

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 19/08/2011 06:50

A dead fly on the floor that the cat was playing with. A fly. I hate flies, but this just seemed too cruel.

On the other side of the coin, in my first trimester mardiness, DH told me not to put a particular plate in a particular place in the dishwasher. I threw said plate at his head, plus 6 more, and 3 cups and a bowl. Not my finest hour... Didn't make it better that I missed him with every single crockery missile and he was pissing his pants laughing at me... :)

Changing2011 · 19/08/2011 07:03

"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always
As long as Im living
My baby you'll be"

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Also cried at a Willow Tree figure named Joyful child - we bought it for my MIL as it looks like DD. Although DD does have a face. But I still cried. She IS a joyful child. Blush

BigusBumus · 19/08/2011 07:09

I cried at The Ugly Duckling song where it goes:
Who me? A swan?
You're a very fine swan indeeeeeeeeeed!

And Rolf Harris, 2 little boys.

In fact I still cry at that. Blush

roisinanna · 19/08/2011 07:29

Everything..

washngo · 19/08/2011 07:39

When my dh bought strawberry instead of raspberry trifles.

washngo · 19/08/2011 07:41

Ooh and I watched mamma mia and sobbed at the bit where meryl Streep sings the song about "school bag in hand she leaves home in the early morning". I cried uncontrollably.

Ilovekittyelise · 19/08/2011 08:54

this is SOOOOO shameful. a few weeks ago i switched the TV on and kyle was on. i thought 'why not', as you do every so often (well, i do, please tell me im not alone in this terrible habit). there was a paternity test (obviously, that being the entire basis of the show) and the underage oik in question was so earnest and quite sweet and wanted to be the dad. and amazingly, the mum wanted him to be the dad. i think even kyle wanted him to be the dad. he wasnt and i howled.....

disclaimer: i'm not a regular watcher and have tried to avoid it since!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 19/08/2011 09:01

:o

I took dd to see the Night Garden Live a couple of weeks back and wore sunglasses even though it was dark, and went through elaborate yawning and stretching pretence to disguise the fact that I was sobbing. Pretending to be tired enabled me to wipe my eyes lots. It was at 1 in the afternoon... Hmm

But then I did the same last year and I wasn't pg.

Flowerydems · 19/08/2011 09:33

The cadbury's advert with the clothes dancing of their own accord.

I got it into my head that it was pygmy people in normal sized clothes dancing and DP pointed out that it was probably more likely to be normal sized people in giant clothes mainly with pygmy people being so hard to come by.
I cried for about an hour at this being pointed out to me.

That's just one of the many sadly.

xx

roundtable · 19/08/2011 09:51

Last week I cried because my shoe rack fell down and because my DH bought me a packet of malteasers and I'd really wanted some but forgot to ask him!

There has been many, many more crying episodes, my DH finds it quite shocking as I'm usually not a crier at all!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 19/08/2011 11:12

I cried the other day because my friend can play the guitar and I can't. The worst part is, I'm not even pregnant, just pre-menstrual Blush.
