Heeeere am I floating in a tin can....

Yes, I have sat and sobbed to Space Oddity.
Poor Major Tom!

I also cried while feeding the cat because he "looked hungry".

What are your shameful sob stories?

I had a mad craving for mashed potato so went into the supermarket to buy some bits before promptly bursting into tears at the checkout because the weird assortment of things in my basket just screamed "crazy pregnant lady"

gorionine · 19/08/2011 11:18

Watching the episode of the Simpsons where Mr burns (not sure the name anymore but Homer's boss) steals Lisa's teddy bear. Oh I cried and DH laughed and laughed! (in a nice kind manner Grin)

loverocky · 19/08/2011 12:08

i cried just over talking about my mw in previous pregnancy and my husband was reminding me what she looked like because i forgot haha silly little me XD finding things really emotional in this second pregnancy and worried about alot of things beause of having previous c section, so many things going through my head right now, i guess that would make me more emotional? x

Daisybell1 · 19/08/2011 12:14

I cried at the One man and his dog christmas special when I was about 3 dpo, and way before my BFP. It was the juniors section with all the kids saying how much they loved their dogs.

bagpipes on westminister bridge whilst on the way to an antenatal appointment at St Thomas's - so melancholy

Extreme Home Makeover. Made me cry throughout my first pregnancy and am doing so every morning now too (25 weeks at the moment). DS (the first pregnancy who is now 5) thinks I'm odd and keeps checking me for tears but is now put out that his bedroom doesn't have a life size model dinosaur head in it!

monkeychambers · 19/08/2011 14:57

The window sales man this morning - told me he and his wife had been married since they were 21 after meeting at 15 years old - and had been married for 53 years - and he then said 'she is still the most amazing woman to me' - I just burst into tears in the hall !

He also said it was putting his two sons through law schools which meant he was still working in his mid 70's - sob sob sob.

BlueKangaroo22 · 19/08/2011 15:39

I made myself a bowl of angel delight but had to do it in a little bowl, i couldnt stir it properly, it splashed all over the side, i got annoyed but perservered..sat down had a mouthful and it was all lumpy :(
I sobbed for half an hour and dp couldn't do anything to help...it was my last sachet of angel delight...and last of anything remotely chocolatey in the house... :(!

BlueKangaroo22 · 19/08/2011 15:40

Oh and I drove DP mad by developing an uncanny ability to cry with no real cause...only that I said I will cry- and I always did!!!

LimburgseVlaai · 19/08/2011 15:57

I never had morning sickness, in fact I'm very rarely sick at all.

But one evening, very pregnant with DD1, I cleaned my teeth a bit too vigorously and I was sick in the basin. DH came upstairs to find me sobbing over the basin trying to get rid of the sick by poking it through the little holes with the handle of my toothbrush (what was I thinking!).

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, oh please I'm so sorry [etc etc] was all I could say, until he took the toothbrush from me and patted me on the back - "There there now, I'll sort it out" - and I fell fast asleep on the bed.

wearenotinkansas · 19/08/2011 18:50

Kung Fu Panda 2 Blush - the bit where mum panda is trying to save baby panda from the wolves. Had to suppress it so DP didn't relentlessly take the piss.

And "Anchored down in Anchorage" by Michelle Shocked. This was the point when I realised I have to go back to work after baby is born.

wearenotinkansas · 19/08/2011 18:51

ps. In case you were wondering, DP and I had taken DD to see Kung Fu Panda 2. Wasn't just the two of us Smile

allibaba · 19/08/2011 19:02

The day the BBC lost the exclusive rights to Formula One. I was so incensed by SKY and the injustice of it all. That is a little weird isn't it? Grin

aniseed · 19/08/2011 19:12

When this old lady won The Weakest Link. She was so happy. I also couldn't watch Deal or no Deal for the whole 9 months.

madmomma · 19/08/2011 19:25

I now cry at most of the bits of Family Guy that have Stewie in them. Also at shitty posts on mumsnet Blush

Oeisha · 19/08/2011 19:28

allibaba Crying at the Beeb loosing F1 rights was just sensible. Bloody travisty....I know many not pregnant men (?! and some pregnant ones...duuuurrr) that have cried at that.
My most embarrasing cry so far:
Burping up the taste of the Pregnacare fish oils suppliment....

FirstTimeMummyToBe · 19/08/2011 19:49

I cried because i was walking home from the bus stop after work and it was raining and my feet got wet Blush

munkiii · 19/08/2011 19:54

Not being able to find anywhere that served chocolate milkshakes.

My poor Mother met me one day in town and I was in floods of tears, she thought there was something seriously wrong.

Well there was...... to me!

The lame chocolate milk drink thing I had in John Lewis with her was NOT what I wanted.

Oooh I feel better for sharing that!

SummerRain · 19/08/2011 20:02

I'm generally pretty weepy anyway so you can imagine how hormones affect me

I didn't even know I was pregnant when a manager at work shouted at me one day, I held it together until a lovely elderly couple came up to me and demanded to speak to her manager about her behaviour as it was simply appalling that she would speak to me like that in front of customers. I sobbed for 2 hours Blush

I also had complete hysterics when pregnant with dd and completely losing the plot nesting. I was trying to scrub mildew in the bedroom of our rotten damp flat and broke down in hysterics because if the health nurse saw the dirt she'd take my baby away Hmm

There are many many others.... dp learned after the first pregnancy to avoid making eye contact or speak too much as anything and everything would either make me mad or cause me to break down in tears... or both Blush

memphis83 · 19/08/2011 20:08

I watched Nanny Mcfee 2 when 7 months pregnant, I cried at the end, not when their dad returned but when I realised the old crazy lady was baby Aggy from the first one, I went with my mum and refused to leave until I stopped, the teenagers cleaning popcorn from the floors thought I was mad.

I cried at the Coronation Street Advert when Becky said Ladybird ladybird fly away home your house is on fire and your children have gone, I wasnt pg but I was emotional as ds was turning one and I was upset my baby was growing up Blush

Fo0ffyShmoofer · 19/08/2011 20:11

When I was about 6 or 7 months on DS my mum turned the tv over suddenly and I looked around to see that rock group Slipknot in full gimp gear. It freaked me out so much I cried my bloody eyes out.

happywheezer · 19/08/2011 20:15

I had to queue for a belt in River Island and I knew that my mum and husband were waiting for me, but it was reduced.
