Heeeere am I floating in a tin can....

Yes, I have sat and sobbed to Space Oddity.
Poor Major Tom!

I also cried while feeding the cat because he "looked hungry".

What are your shameful sob stories?

Tesco furniture polish- it had a picture of an old man on the side lovingly polishing something. Unfortunately I loathed the smell of the polish and couldn't use it. I felt so sorry for the man because I didn't like his polish and thought his feelings would be hurt. I cried and cried Blush.

Oh Schrodinger it wasn't the "Jurassic Bark" episode, with Seymour the dog?
That makes me cry every time.
Or the one where Leela meets her parents the "Baby Love Child" sequence...that's a tough one too...

I spent most of the last two days crying in anticipation of the A level results of the girls in my youth group. Then crying when they got into their universities they wanted to go to. DH was lovely, telling DD how cute her mummy was for caring so much about them. Cried when chatting with one of their mums this morning.

Funny, i've been worrried that I'm not pg anymore (this awful bit between 12 and 20 week scan, no symptoms, no bump, no movement), but perhaps the sobbing should help me realise it's still there!!

CheerfulYank · 20/08/2011 06:26

DON'T TALK ABOUT JURASSIC BARK Oeisha !

Oeisha · 20/08/2011 11:53

Oh no! What have I done!

SummerLeaps · 20/08/2011 12:06

Oh, in The Times ages ago there was a bloody smug article by a bloody smug journalist praising older mums (I am one myself, so that was not the issue) and justifying himself by saying that in his wife's baby group there was a 'younger' mum who had (shock horror) bought winnie the pooh themed stuff for her baby and taking the piss out of that. i cried and cried and cried, because i thought of that poor girl, so excited and happy about her baby and so excitedly preparing for her baby and having the piss taken out of her in a national newspaper and being judged by the other mums in her group.

It still makes me cry a bit really. It was just so mean spirited.

I used to rarely cry over stuff, but in pg and post pg i cry over everything. The Cancer research ad and the old man makes me cry too.

jaggythistle · 20/08/2011 13:23

I only got a BFP on Thursday, but this morning I cried while listening to someone doing a bungee jump on the radio. She did sound all emotional and nervous, but not sure why I started greeting!

I don't think I can use pg as an excuse though. The first time I DS watched Baby Jake on CBeebies, I cried at the end bit when he is cuddled in with his big brother.

CheerfulYank · 20/08/2011 16:38

Oh I remember that Summer ! And didn't she also -shock, horror!- give the kid chocolate at one point?!

I was incredibly angry over that article too. I wanted to find that journo and slap him.

cleanteeth · 20/08/2011 17:18

anything and everything!
I do remember bawling my eyes out watching everyone finish the london marathon on telly though. they all looked so happy and glad to be finished i just couldnt help myself!
of course ben and jerrys cookie dough ice cream always helped heal the pain Wink

SummerLeaps · 20/08/2011 17:22

Yes Cheerful! She gave the baby either chocolate buttons or chocolate sprinkles off her coffee or something. I really hated that article, It physically hurt my stomach. :(

steben · 20/08/2011 17:25

A dead squirrel on the road - was near my due date and driving along and broke down over it....

lolajane2009 · 20/08/2011 21:38

no mayo on my hamburger in 1st trimester

lollystix · 20/08/2011 22:20

I've never really been the same since ds1. I cry at everything now. It's really quite pathetic. I've read two different articles today and been in floods- it would never have happened before. Brother tells me SIL (also pregs) was in floods the other week cos there were no tomatoes in the fridge.

CheerfulYank · 20/08/2011 23:13

I remember everyone being upset about that article on here, Summer! So that made me feel better.

EsmeWeatherwax · 20/08/2011 23:35

The song Caravans by Barbara Dixon when I was pg with dd1, tis all about freedom and suchlike, and I could see mine disappearing down the tubes.

And my dad. I parked a millimeter over his parking space when dropping dd2 off last week, and he gave me a "look." I sat in the car and sobbed for ten minutes.

bibbitybobbityhat · 20/08/2011 23:40

I cried at a steel band playing Christmas carols in Sloane Square on a very cold and dark evening about a month before dd was born.

HillyMcGrew · 21/08/2011 07:09

The Family supplement in Saturday Guardian. Every time.

Also, at 16wk checkup, MW played me the baby's heartbeat. Little did she know I hadn't heard it before. On my back on the bed in the exam room I broke down whilst I listened to it, so she popped the box of tissues she was going to have to use to clean the goop off my tummy on my chest and we shared them.

MrsRV · 21/08/2011 07:14

Oh dear... I'm lying in bed crying whilst reading this thread. WEIRDO. Also cried in restaurant when best friend told me she's going on holiday around the time the baby is due...:-(

lollystix · 21/08/2011 07:56

It's the Family supplement in the Guardian that gets me too. Was in floods yesterday about that boy saying by to his gran

I'm overseas & footage of the riots on the news made me cry, not from the rioters being total scum & it being shit, but from it making me so homesick Confused
