What the Heck is going on??????

Stared bleeding Sat night very light pink which stopped almost straight away, no pain. i was 10+3 went to a&e who did hcg tests were normal and felt tummy and said they were 100% sure bleeding caused by placenta attaching itself and baby and me will be fine also got a bad UTI.

Sunday morning tiny bit of brown blood.

Sunday afternoon bleeding redish not that heavy really no pain 2 tiny tiny clots it's been on and off till now no more clots just light and no pain.

Went to gp this am whilst waiting i went for a wee when i got in the room she asked for a sample 5 minuets after i'd just been so i did another wee she then did a pg test which was negative?!? Dr said i've MC been a state all day non stop tears.

When i got home 4 hrs after my last wee i just had to do another test and got a positive result!!!

I've got an app. at EPAU tomorrow but WTF has anyone else ever had this? Am i still pg? No-one has scanned me or done baby heartbeat?

I'm going crazy one minute i was dealing with the fact my baby has died and the nxt might not of????!!!

I've no experience of this at all, I'm afraid....but after reading I just wanted to say I'm so sorry you've had such an emotional day, and really hope you get good news tomorrow.

Positive tests can still be possible after miscarriage so can't be relied on.

Epu will prob give you a scan to check if heartbeat present. This will be the biggest indication as if your dates are right it should be present.

What a stressful time you've had, fingers crossed for tomorrow, do you have someone going with you to the hospital?

Yes thankyou DH will be coming. Just done another positive test. Trying to come to terms with miscarriage but can't help thinking just what if the dr was wrong. Just want to know.

The epu should never have told you 100% the baby is fine. They simply cannot tell you that without doing a scan.

I'm sorry but my first miscarriage was exactly as you describe. They should have arranged a scan for you.

Did they do 2 sets of hcg blood tests? The results are useless if there are not done a few days apart to see how they are rising.

I really hope things work out for you.

I know i wish she'd of just been honest. No just 1 set of tests had no scan, internals or heartbeat checked!

Mumatron it was the gp would said this not epu. They would have done scan and bloods .

Yes was a Dr at a&e that told me that. They said all maternity service were shut and nothing can be done till Mon.

I bled at 7w and 8w and 12w in this pregnancy. No pain, just red blood (enough to wear a pad) and lasting a few days. Big bleed at 12w but stopped immediately. Never went to EPU as reckoned they couldnt do anything anyway.

Turned out at 20w I had low placenta and 32w it was placenta praevia and DS3 arrived 2 months early and is a 6w old sleeping on my sofa :)

Aw captainbarnacle thankyou and i'm so glad you DS is ok. I really hop i can share a similar story. I had placenta praevia with DD1 at 15 weeks similar bleeding we were in Spain at the time who were fantastic and scanned me straight away and told me the problem. Thankgoodness it moved back by 20 weeks. My GP said there's no way it can happen twice though and especially this early on.

Sorry my mistake, but really no hcp should have told you 100%. It's simply not possible to tell you that.

Fwiw, loads of women have episodes of bleeding in pg and everything works out. I really do hope that is the case for you.

What time are you going for a scan?

It's so bloody hard when they only do early scans Mon-Fri (and before lunch here too, nothing in an afternoon). And really they're the only way of assessing what's actually happening. HCG can give you a picture of what's happening if they do 2 readings a couple of days apart but at 10 weeks, there's no way they can hear a heartbeat or palpate anything that would tell them anything specific.

Well just got home internal scan confirmed baby but no heartbeat. Baby died about 3-4 weeks ago Sad. They have said because its 8mm long they need to re-scan in 7 days just to check as sometimes they can be wrong but she is 100% sure there won't be a heartbeat.

I then have 3 options if baby hasn't come out naturally by then, have tablets to force MC, or wait another 3 weeks to see if anything happens, or a D&C! She told me to consider my options but i really can't think of anything but it's so bloody unfair!!!

Anyone got any advice?

Have been lurking for your news. Am very sorry to hear of this :(

FWIW, I have had two mcs. One natural and one mmc where I had the ERPC/D&C procedure.

Only you can decide what you want to do.

Many find they'd rather it be over and done with and so opt for the ERPC and tbh I preferred it that way. 3 weeks is a long time to wait imo.

Do what is best for you, and take your time to heal xx

Thankyou and sorry to hear about your losses. I think atm i'm thinking D&C what i'm reading about managed MC sounds awful, painful and like you say i just want it over now. We have a 3 yr old DD so how do i explain Mummy being in pain etc this weeks been weird enough for her. x

I'm so terribly sorry. You don't have to decide anything instantly. Give yourself a couple of days and permission to feel anything you need to.

I think most people- as you're already finding- have a gut reaction to what they want to do. Some want to wait and let it happen naturally, some want to go to sleep, have it dealt with and wake up with it over and done with. No way is right or wrong, only right for you. When you're ready please talk on here and ask any questions you need to. Practical, emotional etc. Sadly, too many of us have been there.

It's a shocking, heartbreaking time. Don't be surprised by the force of it hitting you some days. You're grieving not for a 8mm baby of 10 weeks gestation but for a whole life and that's something that takes time and gentle handling.

In terms of your 3yo, tell her in simple terms that you've got a poorly tummy, the doctors are looking after you and you might have to go back to the hospital for them to make you well again. Reassure her that you're okay and just a bit sore. She's old enough to know that something's not right. Cuddle her lots and lots. Good for both of you.
