Labour must be close because not only am I absolutely starving, exhausted but unable to sleep let alone well!
But I swear if DP's elbow touches my arm one more time I will throttle him!
I cannot stand anyone near me and nearly everything is driving me mad with misery.
I am also highly emotional.

Come moan with me, please bring warm donuts Grin

yep im not a fan of induction great believer that they will come when they are ready. Induction can lead to greater intervention as babies sometimes just aren't ready. Tho expect many will disagree, and i'll be desperate myself in a couple of weeks to get this one out.

aStarInStrangeways · 04/07/2011 20:11

Yes, I'm not keen on the idea of being induced before my body is ready. Went a week over with DS, which was frustrating, but I was clearly ready to give birth when he did finally arrive. The GD thing makes it so hard to decide though, as I'm trying (from a layperson's POV) to weigh up the actual risks to me and her vs the potential hideousness of early induction.

I am really hoping she just decides to pop out, nice and ready, at 38 weeks Grin

camerafairy · 04/07/2011 20:14

so the whole pineapple/sex/curry/leaf tea... doesn't really work then i guess!

buttonmoon78 · 04/07/2011 20:33

I have been induced at 38wks before and am being induced at 38wks this time (next Friday - yay!). However, I would wholeheartedly agree that it can lead to a longer and more intervention fraught labour. And I agree with Nicola that sometimes babies just aren't ready and of course it's far better to leave them until they are.

However, I was very lucky last time (and hope I will be this time). I was dilated enough for the MW to break my waters and I hope the same will happen this time. I did have to have a drip but it was to stabilise the contractions before making them stronger and it was done very gently and slowly.

In fact, although ds was back to back and had his hand up alongside his face I didn't have an epidural even though I was begging for one and will be having one this time! and there was no intervention at all.

I do realise though that I was very lucky and ds being my 3rd it was more likely to be swifter and easier to get things moving.

mumblebum · 05/07/2011 06:23

I'm now more pregnant than I have ever been before. Perhaps it's time to invest in a pineapple! It's dd's birthday today though so perhaps it's best I don't go into labour today.

I hope everyone is coping with the heat ok. I've had the fan on all night here.

Lolly1985 · 05/07/2011 09:29

How is everyone feeling today?

Trinaluce · 05/07/2011 09:44

Think bump's dropped, I feel like the baby's trying to tunnel to Australia. 37+2 with DC2. Am starting to eat pineapple like it's going out of fashion (just cos it's what I fancy, not too fussed about going over). Mostly however, just feeling tired and cranky and fed up of waking up to have to heave turn myself over with the aid of the bedstead. And the enormous crack that my hips emit when I do so...

MummyTigger · 05/07/2011 09:51

Lolly1985 - feeling horrendous! Don't ask me what the heck happened last night. Went to bed nice and early, fell asleep to the soothing sounds of my DP watching Family Guy... woke up this morning feeling like I've been on an all-night bender! Sick to my stomach, thumping bloody headache. My eyes feel too big for their sockets, it's horrible.

13 days until EDD. 25 until I have to be induced.

LONGEST. 13. DAYS. EVER.

Bloody child. I'm sure he's in there with a shovel and a helmet with one of those lights on the top.

mumblebum · 05/07/2011 10:37

Oh that sounds horrible MummyTigger do you think you could be dehydrated? Hope you feel better soon.

I just feel like crying today. No particular reason, just fed up I suppose. I think this one is in for the duration. There's nothing to indicate imminent birth at all. I wish I'd paid more attention when the consultant was talking about induction rather than assuming I wouldn't get that far! Got a MW appointment tomorrow so I guess I'll ask her about getting booked in for induction. I'm beginning to wonder if I was supposed to make the appointment myself after I last saw the consultant. Oops.

Darlingdamsel · 05/07/2011 10:47

MrsVidic · 05/07/2011 12:29

Well I too feel like shit- throwing up and the runs too since yesterday with a bit of pain under the bump- constant bh's and I'm seeing the mw today as I generally feel like I'm dying! I am just wishing on a star that the baby could be early as I cant face another 4 weeks of this crap

sydneysuze · 05/07/2011 12:36

More CAKE anyone?

MiniSyd II arrived at 7am on Fri 1st July, 8lb and yelling his head off after 12 hours back-to-back stop/start labour (ouch). I had a sweep on Thurs afternoon and it all started kicking off properly a few hours after that - go the sweeps ladies!

He's lovely though so I've even forgiven him the stitches.

Hope you'll all pop soon - any news PWB you're quiet again?

Darlingdamsel · 05/07/2011 12:45

Oh Sydney that is excellent news! Congrats!

buttonmoon78 · 05/07/2011 12:46

Woohoo! I was just thinking I could do with some cake Grin

Terribletriplets · 05/07/2011 12:48

CONGRATULATIONS TO SYDNEY!!!

(In France they reckon that pregnancy is 42 weeks; not sure why the French and the BMA don't agree on this, or even agree on an average of 41 weeks).

nicolamumof3 · 05/07/2011 13:17

wohooo too from over here on my sofa! Congrats Sydney lovely news enjoy that gorgeous newborn x

MummyTigger · 05/07/2011 13:32

Woop, congratulations Sydney!! :D

And thanks MumbleBum - feeling a lot better than this morning. Had another nap and am now drinking some raspberry leaf iced tea :) Seriously, am I the only one in the world who likes the taste?! Everyone else is looking at me like I'm mental!

mumblebum · 05/07/2011 13:42

Ohh congrats Sydneysuze well done. Shall partake of cake later, it is DD's birthday after all!

Glad you're feeling better MummyTigger.

SpannerPants · 05/07/2011 14:01

Congratulations Sydneysuze!

You're not the only one MummyTigger - I'm quite partial to some raspberry leaf tea as well :)

Lolly1985 · 05/07/2011 15:07

Congrats Sydneysuze!!!
Sorry every1 is feeling a bit rubbish 2day. Having the runs and sickness is so horrible, is it a virus or pregnancy related? I seem 2 have the runs pretty much every day these days :(!

I had the tiniest amount of bleeding earlier, baby is moving so rang maternity unit and they said not 2 worry, may b nothing or they may be seeing me soon! I have 2 call back if I get more!

aStarInStrangeways · 05/07/2011 16:08

Congratulations sydneysuze, a lovely new 8lber to sniff :) And hooray that you're not pregnant anymore! Grin

Sorry to hear everyone has been feeling shite. mumblebum I was in floods of tears this morning, feeling like it was all too much. Fortunately DH has realised that I need a break and is going to take a day off soon to take DS out so I can rest.

Antenatal appointment surprisingly positive, which has made me feel a lot better. I'm still finding driving really stressful though - the vulnerability of late pregnancy seems to have made me hyper-wigged about spatial awareness, i.e. I feel that I have none Blush Hate driving at the moment, but too tired to walk...sigh.

Darlingdamsel · 05/07/2011 16:20

Can I just say women with buggies who plow over heavily pregnant women are horrible creatures. I mean they HAVE to know what it is like to waddle down the street and then they cruise by barely giving you any room/make you stop or blatently make YOU get out of their way ...

Worse still, one rammed me in the post office with her buggy while she was talking on the phone with a friend and almost took me down.

I will be kind to fellow mothers .... not some egoistic.

Sorry, all I did was go to the post and Robert D and feel totally beaten up now. Sigh ...

(Mellow dramtic? Me? Smile ...)

tadd · 05/07/2011 16:36

2nd Day over my due date now and had a sweep on Monday which doesn't appear to have worked!
My mum has come up from Wiltshire, a little embarrassing to be told by your Midwife to go home and have sex with DP in the presence of you mother!!Blush!!!
Getting so mega impatient now! Angry I'm totally fed up with being pregnant and being told like i look like I'm about to pop!! Been eating far too many Biscuits and just want a very large glass of fizzy Wine!!
Enough already, lets get this show on the road!!!!
