Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

MakesCakesWhenStressed - expecting #1 EDD 10 Jan 2012

Liska - so sorry to hear about your sad news. My thoughts to you and your DP. xxx

Cakes hope you are feeling better. Are other people actually vomiting, or just nauseous?

Littlepic I am now 14 weeks and I bled every day, sometimes quite heavily, between about 6 and 12 weeks. It was horrible but in my case it turned out to be a small rupture on the uterus which healed itself. This is really common, apparently, and it is one of the main reasons people bleed but don't miscarry. Good luck.

Liska I am so sorry for your lost, and sending you wishes that time will heal.

Littlepic · 13/06/2011 19:21

Hi Stephfa,
It's always nice to hear positive stories. Bleeding has stopped again today so I'm feeling more positive. Very impatient about my 12 week scan on Friday.

Cakes I hope you are feeling better today :)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 17/06/2011 17:01

Thanks for the good wishes - vomiting seemed to be a one-off, but still getting nausea (mostly in evenings) and dizziness (whenever the hell it feels like it) - am desperately looking forward to second trimester!

Dh has been away for the last week and I miss him horribly - the down side of being sickeningly in love evn after 7 years, huh? Think I'm going to tie his wrist to mine for the next 7 months - I don't want him going anywhere :-)

How are you all? Enjoying this luvverly rain?

Hi all,

Had my 12 week scan today and all is well :) It turns out I'm 13 weeks and not 12. EDD is 23rd December, poor baby!!! It's a very active baby wriggling around all over.

I hope you are feeling better soon Cakes. I was sick for only the third time this morning. Strange!!

xxx

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 20/06/2011 10:27

Well commiserations for the baby on possibly being a Christmas birthday, but nice for you to know you're a week further on than you thought. I'm longing to be 12 weeks - am terribly paranoid that something will go wrong...

Still feeling dizzy, but nausea is mostly in the evenings now, so hopefully I can start getting a bit more work done soon (fingers crossed, because finances are getting very bad here now).

Anyone else got a scan soon? Mine's next Wednesday lunchtime I think... Jeez - can't believe it's so soon! It felt like ages away when I booked it. Am pretty excited :-)

OP posts:
Stephfa · 20/06/2011 17:44

Congratulations Littlepic so glad things are OK. Maybe your baby could have an actual birthday and "official birthday", like the Queen, if s/he is close to Christmas :)

Cakes, do you still want to meet on Saturday? Looks like it's probably just us for this one.

ghosteditor · 20/06/2011 20:24

Hi ladies! I'm back from my holiday after a blissful week in the sun, in which I've hardly felt sick at all. Am now suffering a bad bout of feeling sick and dizzy but I think it's because of travelling, a late flight, and getting eating wrong today. DH is back (after 6 weeks!) and has just fed me a lovely meal which is making me feel much better.

Scan date is 5 July, can't wait! And we've just found out that some very close friends are expecting dc2 one day (!) after my EDD. We haven't told them yet though Wink

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 21/06/2011 08:56

Hi Stepha - probably not going to be able to do anything on Saturday as I'm still struggling to go out and about on my own and feel safe - hopefully the week after though?

Nice to see you back Ghost, and glad you enjoyed your holiday.

My tummy is starting to look and feel different now - not quite a bump, but my clothes are definitely tighter! Luckily most of my summer gear was too big for me anyway because I lost weight over the winter, but if my bust gets much bigger I'm going to be forced to buy some new stuff! :-)

OP posts:
Stephfa · 21/06/2011 19:34

Yes Cakes, lets arrange something when you are feeling better.

Re bumps, I am at in-between stage. Partner and I can tell that I am pregnant, but in baggy clothes can still hide it. Got university reunion in 2 weeks, cocktail dresses dress code, should I show off bump or be modest? Are others showing yet? Re maternity clothes, I think JoJo Maman Bebe catalogue is good value, especially for bras, and Mothercare better than I expected.

Littlepic · 21/06/2011 19:44

Hi Stephfa,

I'm like you. I feel fatter and but not really showing a bump yet. It's my husbands 30th birthday on Saturday and we're having a big party. Planning to wear a dress that makes me look as pregnant as possible as we plan to announce to everyone that we are expecting!! Can't wait to have a proper bump :)

peabodybean · 21/06/2011 22:11

Although not due in 2012, I am due in 3 weeks and I live in Oxfordshire, so hello

ghosteditor · 22/06/2011 09:34

I'm a bit of a fatty fat fatty at the moment! I've just spent a week in a bikini and I look most barrel shaped in a couple of the photos. I've put in quite a lot of weight so far but I think it's because I've been very nauseated but not actually being sick - eating helps, so, well, I've been doing a lot of it!

[waves at peabody]. Three weeks? Gosh, that's exciting! What are your birth plans?

ghosteditor · 22/06/2011 09:35

If I may be so rude as to ask, I mean Blush

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 22/06/2011 13:31

I wish my belly looked like a bump, but atm it's more like who ate all the pies - probably because, like you Ghost, I've been eating to keep the nausea at bay but not upchucking.

I say go loud and proud in the cocktail dress, btw - make it look as much like a bump as possible, otherwise you'll just feel self conscious and fat, well, I would, so that's my advice!

Hello to you, Peabody - you're very welcome here, but there is a 2011 thread too if you want to talk to others from Oxon who are expecting this year!

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 23/06/2011 09:30

cakes it sounds like you have been much worse than me though - the nausea has been strong but at least it has gone away for me when I'm running around or doing something exciting that takes my mind off it. Yours sounds like evil-nausea. Not sure if this will make you feel better but I'm starting to feel much less sickly these days, at 10+

Scan in ten days hurrah!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/06/2011 15:52

11 weeks today - the days are getting better, evenings still rough :-)

Just touching base to say hello

OP posts:
PenguinArmy · 23/06/2011 18:39

hello cakes and everyone else

11 weeks is standard porkage looking stage, sexy stuff

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/06/2011 09:25

Hi Penguin and everyone - seem to be experiencing a crazy burst of energy today, so am using it to make muffins, change and wash bed linen and catch up on some ironing - oh the glamour. Still, nice to be doing something useful for once! Now if only I could get myself to write some more of my book... hrrmm. Never too late to procrastinate. I;d better get back to that ironing ;-)

Hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunniness - apparently we're in for a glorious weekend. Wonder if I can persuade DH to take me to Witfest on Sunday....?

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 24/06/2011 09:30

It does look lovely out there. I'm trying to find someone who can go out for a cycle with me this weekend, as DH now has to go back to somewhere hot and dusty for another two weeks. Five days in the same country in eight weeks = hard times. Sad

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 24/06/2011 16:11

Bummer - that really sucks ghost :-( Will you get lots of time with him when he gets back?

Did your MW tell you cycling was OK? Mine warned me against a bunch of stuff and cycling was one of them - I think it was to do with the risk if one were to fall off, but as I wasn't planning on doing any cycling anyway I didn't pay much attention! Hope you find someone to go with you :-)

I'm unexpectedly getting two days with my DH this weekend and am really looking forward to it, even if the reason is because he's feeling a bit under the weather. Has anyone else found themselves getting more than usually clingy these days?

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 24/06/2011 20:36

Hey cakes! We should get a bit if time when he gets home, but tbh he's been working so hard at his secondary duties lately that he's very tired and stressed while back at home. He's just very dedicated, unlike some of the people he works with. But he's booked loads of leave for Jan-March which is the most important thing really Grin

I do a lot of sport and spoke with the midwife about it all. There's a lot of scaremongering around pregnancy, and no one wants to be responsible for saying anything (exercise, food, drink etc) is ok. There is a risk of falling in cycling and in my other sports too. But I'm used to it and know how to fall! Realistically you could fall out of the bath or off the kerb so I'm not too worried. I've never fallen off my road bike before, even when my tyre blew, so I'm happy to continue. But I guess we each have to make the call individually.

Watching the tennis with DH atm and wishing I was playing instead of watching ( not at Wimbledon obvs!)

What are you ladies up to?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 25/06/2011 09:14

Well hubby is currently whistling and frying himself breakfast with the extractor fan on as I stare at the Tv and go faintly green! Think we have a heady day of board games and reading lined up, but that's a rare treat for us and, with the weather this bad, hopefully our furry boys will deign to spend the day with us too :-)

Sad and middle aged at 28, pathetic, isn't it? :-D

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 26/06/2011 16:27

I've had a lovely weekend too - just pootling around at home getting things done. I haven't spent much time at home in ages so there were all sorta of things to sort out. Thankfully, washing the patio doors is quite pleasant in the lively sunshine! Grin

Everything is so much easier when the sun is shining... Bliss...
