Expecting in Oxford 2012 (inc. late 2011 too)

Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Hi ladies, sorry, should have updated you on cakes - she has a labour thread on the childbirth forum!

Her waters broke at 5am on Tuesday but she wasn't having significant contractions. Sadly she didn't get into established labour within 24 hours so her lovely MW led birth couldn't happen.

She went to the JR yesterday morning and has had some lovely MWs and good care. They broke the rest of her waters but labour still didn't progress, so she had to be induced, but she had to wait ages for the induction. Last I heard, she had been induced by 7pm yesterday and was having good strong contractions. No further news but keeping fx for her!!!

A quick update on cakes - still no baby yet . She's labouring still and has an epidural now - poor girl has been at it for ages and ages.

Ooh just realised tomorrow is Friday 13th ... Get a wriggle on cakes 12 of the 1st 12 is a good birthday : )

Hey Lucy! I think Fri 13th is a pretty fun date as well . But for cakes's sake I hope the little one arrives today! Plus it's her due date (and mine!) today...

Well, I had 20 hours of v mild contractions the other day, and by the end they were down to gaps of about 5 mins, but they stopped after a nap and haven't got any closer than 15 mins since then! I'm feeling a lot more pressure now so I'm hoping that means the baby's head is properly engaged - I have a MW appt tomorrow so should find out, my first since Christmas eve!

I'm I'm good health and pretty relaxed though so I can't complain .

Very exciting for both of you, hope babycakes puts in an appearance soon!

Baby Leo born today by c section after longest labour in history of universe. Basically as fast from my birth preferences as it could be, but I have my beautiful boy so I can find a way to get over the rest of it.

Cakes congratulations to you and DH! as you say the important thing is Leo is here now, I bet he's gorgeous. Lovely name :)

Just had a look at your labour thread, it sounds like you've had a really traumatic time. Make sure your DH/Mum really pushes for a single room for you, I know someone whose Mum made a great arguement for her moving from the ward and so she was in a side room from day 2 onwards. Definitely sounds like you deserve it. I remember the first night being really scary too but the midwives will come and help you.

Hi ladies, still no news from me I'm afraid, looks like this baby is very comfortable in situ! I've been having regular BHs and the baby's head is fully engaged - I'm 40+3 now - but so far it hasn't led anywhere...

How's everyone else doing?

All going well here thanks ghost - up feeding at all hours = v tired but otherwise good. J went back to work thur so was a bit of a shock coping with S and F on my own but first two days went ok so just have to crack on now!

Not sure if you've all seen but moobee had her little girl at the JR yesterday after a long induction process - everything seems to be ok though, just hope she's managed to catch up on some sleep! Congratulations moobee

Btw, Lisa came back to yoga tonight with her beautiful DD to give us her wonderful home water birth story - sounds like a perfect textbook birth, am super envious already! That was my last class as there's no session next week and after that baby will have to make an appearance!

Any body fancy meeting up tomorrow? Short notice I know but maybe a midday coffee in summertown or something?
