Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

MakesCakesWhenStressed - expecting #1 EDD 10 Jan 2012

Hey ladies, HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!

Just had the best visit to the Spires - I'll be so so excited if I can give birth there Xmas Grin. The MW was wonderful!!!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 25/12/2011 07:37

hey ghost - if you pop before I do, can I come visit? I'd love you to come visit if I win the race... :)

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 25/12/2011 07:39

PS - Happy Christmas one and all. Am almost certain there'll be no Xmas day baby here as no signs so far and it would have to be one speedy first labour for me to deliver before boxing day, so I can relax a bit now! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day with your families and have enough room (what with the baby and all) to enjoy the festive goodies, even if that doesn't include a glass of vino!

Happy christmas ladies!!!

Cakes, you can visit any time Grin

Rollersara · 26/12/2011 08:03

Happy Christmas! Glad you like the Spires, I've been to the Silver Star unit a few times and it made me feel much better just to know what it's like!

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 29/12/2011 09:10

Hey ladies, how are you all doing? Lucy, any news yet Wink?

Lucycarr · 29/12/2011 09:25

Hi all sorry for the silence - been busy! Baby Scarlet Imogen Barratt Carr was born Christmas day at 6.28pm birth not really what I planned as labour was slow due to babe being in wrong position however gas and air rocks and we finally god the job done : )

Happy New Year ladies! For those of us still to pop, 2012 is our time!!

chocolatesparkle · 01/01/2012 17:40

Congratulations! Can't wait to meet Scarlet at one of our meet-ups. Good luch to everyone else, it's going to be an exciting year! xx

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 01/01/2012 17:56

Hey Chocolate! Did you have a good Xmas and New year? How did your 20 week scan go? How long till Mat leave? :)

PenguinArmy · 01/01/2012 18:44

Many Congratulations Lucy

chocolatesparkle · 02/01/2012 16:36

Really good thanks cakes. Chris was so excited, pointing everything out. The poor sonographer had us in for about 45 mins!
We're going to be having a little girl which is great because Chris' sister has two girls and lots of clothes, so that should help. Hoping to stay at work until 37 weeks...may be optomistic, but worth a try. I'm going to ask not to do my nights at 35 weeks!
Can't believe that you are all due so soon, really look forward to meeting all the little babies and hearing your stories. We should to get some summer mums-to-be on our thread too, I will try to spread the word. xx

ghosteditor · 02/01/2012 16:46

Congratulations sparkle, that's so lovely! It would be great to have some more MNers on the list!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 16:47

Aww, so nice to know what you're having - have you got a name shortlist now?

I am so sick of being pregnant - 35 weeks was a definite cut off point! Bring on labour...

Lucycarr · 03/01/2012 09:47

Congratulations sparkle how exciting for you.

PurplePanda · 03/01/2012 11:33

Congratulations Lucy!! :o I love the name Scarlet and would love to meet her at some point.

Congratulations to Sparkle too, lovely for you to know your having a little girl. I would definitely avoid the set of nights at 35 weeks though.....

I had my 36 week appointment at the Spires and have to agree with Ghost that the midwive was great, and the unit seemed very calm and peaceful even though there were two women in labour! I hope I can give birth there. First day of my mat leave today and I feel like I should be doing some nesting, but haven't even managed to get dressed yet - I blame the weather...

Good luck to everyone due soon - I wonder who will be next??

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/01/2012 12:55

I think ghost and I are having a race, but noone's fired the starter pistol yet...

OP posts:
PurplePanda · 03/01/2012 13:28

Ooh exciting! Good luck to both of you

ghosteditor · 03/01/2012 17:15

Panda the Spires is so lovely, isn't it? I do really want the pool though...

Cakes - it's sort of a slow mo race, we're both twitching on the starting line and ready for the off, but trying to avoid a false start Grin. Though I did just find out that my NCT friend who delivered at 33 weeks thought she was having regular BHs with mild period pain, and was so unconcerned that they made her wait hours before going in to the JR then didn't see her for 50 mins - she delivered an hour later! Her little boy is home now and doing really well though Smile. But so funny that I've had similar symptoms (though not as regular as 3 mins apart) and it has been nothing remarkable!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/01/2012 17:35

Do we have a prize for the winner, or is the prize getting to cuddle your baby and not be pregnant any more? :D

ghosteditor · 03/01/2012 18:03

I think the cessation of late pregnancy is reward enough... Plus the reduction of puffiness and weight I hope!

I swore I wouldn't turn into one of those women who complains about being pregnant, but here I am, whining away Wink
