Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

MakesCakesWhenStressed - expecting #1 EDD 10 Jan 2012

were you in stripes this week ghost? forgot my carnation!

ghosteditor · 01/11/2011 14:40

aye! Was going to stop around to say hello but I developed quite a headache over the course of the class and more or less just dashed home. How did you find it this week? Pigeon is my favourite pose; could have stayed there all night, bliss!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 01/11/2011 15:09

am all jealous of your yoga but probably not a good idea now with the PGP and the dizziness!

Congratulations sparkle - would love to meet up with you sometime since you're based over my way, but might be tricky now I'm not driving - oh well! See you all the day after tomorrow!

Ok, so:

Expecting in Oxford 2012 (and late 2011 too!) Summertown Meet up:

Date: 3 Nov 2011
Venue: M&S Cafe, Summertown
Time: 6.30pm onwards
Dress code: clothes suitable for the consumption of cake...

See you there ladies!!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 02/11/2011 14:48

hee hee - loving the dresscode there! Luckily most things 'maternity' have good stretch in them! :-)

Um - Sparkle did you say you were coming? Are you driving? Would you be able to give me a lift back, if so? (I know that's a horrible cheek, but if you don't ask, people don't know you neeed it and I have a back up plan if you can't help, so don't feel obliged)

Moobee · 02/11/2011 23:36

Hello, I'm hoping to make it. Is M&S definitely open in the evenings? Do you think we should swap numbers in case of any problems? Having kitchen traumas so builder is coming round at 4.30 - 5.30 ish so I may be late.

ghosteditor · 03/11/2011 09:17

Hey ladies - M&S opening hours are here just so you can double check I'm not having a baby brain moment! And I was in there the other night and it definitely looked open, though there wasn't anyone in it!

I just called the store and spoke to someone and they confirmed that cafe opening hours are the same as the store except on Sundays, so I think we're good to go.

Moobee I'll PM you with my mobile number in case of issues and likewise anyone else who'd like a contact number - just let me know.

chocolatesparkle · 03/11/2011 15:43

Hi Cakes, yes of course i can give you a lift home, sorry I didn't offer before.

See you all in M&S later, I should be there at 6.30.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/11/2011 15:50

Aww, thanks Sparkle, but atm DH is insisting on taking his laptop and lurking so he can whisk me home if I get tired. After my bad night last night he's a bit worried I think :-) I'll see if I can persuade him to bog offf and leave me to your tender mercies, but thank you for the offer either way! :)

Am getting very excited about seeing you all now. Right, back to bed for more nap time, even if I can't actually get to sleep!

WARNING! The postcode on the M&S website is incorrect - it should end in a 'Y', not a 'G' according to the fount of all wisdom my DH

So nice to see you all again/meet you tonight. Sorry about the sudden exit, but (pain me as it does to admit it) DH was right and I was wrong - I'm obviously not safe out on my own atm. Oh well.

Looking forward to the next meet up

Hi girls, lovely to meet you all, looking forward to the next one! :)

ghosteditor · 04/11/2011 11:30

Hey ladies, was fab to see you all last night! Sorry about the M&S cafe fail; we'll have to think harder next time about the venue!

Lucycarr · 05/11/2011 22:39

So nice to have met you all glad you were ok cakes, looking forward to the next one!
Lucy

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 07/11/2011 21:06

Thanks Lucy - had a rough day Friday, but have come up with some coping strategies (including napping on my front draped over a beanbag - arse in the air!) so managing to get through the day a bit better now :)

How many people are free to do a Wallingford meet up next week? Any day better than any other?

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 08/11/2011 09:54

Eek just taken a look at my calendar for next week and it's not pretty! I can do, er, Thursday evening or Friday day/evening. If other days are better for people then do go ahead and arrange something without me and I'll make it to the next one.

Having a bit of a shitty day here already - people keep trying to get me to fix their technical woes, but there's only so many times I can say 'I don't know anything about this' or 'you need to be able to fix this for yourself as I won't be here for A YEAR'. Sometimes I suspect my colleagues are practicing a 'look ignorant and you won't be asked to do anything' policy. Fucks me right off. Angry

'Scuse me Wink

chocolatesparkle · 08/11/2011 11:16

I can't do any day next week, but could do any evening the week after. If other people are free next week then go ahead and I'll come to the next one.

Was lovely to meet people and last week and put a few faces to the names!

I love that image of you sleeping over a beanbag cakes!

Lucycarr · 08/11/2011 12:51

Oops just realised next week is out for me too can do the week after tho?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 08/11/2011 16:41

Let's say Thursday the week after then?! What's that, the 24th ish?

And ghost let me know if you want to hang out on a Friday any time :)

And yes Sparkle - it's a really special look! lol

OP posts:
chocolatesparkle · 09/11/2011 11:25

Yes, Thursday the 24th, I'll be there.

Where are we meeting, the Old Post Office?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/11/2011 11:55

Sounds like a plan - it's pretty central, so easy to find :)

OK - next meet up is Wallingford Old Post Office, Thurs 24th Nov, from 6.30pm again?

There's free parking in Goldsmith's car park which is just behind the OPO, will try and do a google maps link...

Map showing parking and OPO in Wallingford

Hope that works! :)

Rollersara · 09/11/2011 20:29

Oo, I think I can make that too!

PenguinArmy · 13/11/2011 14:32

I've already had DS (mid oct) but could I pop along as well?

Went along to the 2011 group when I arrived but it seems to have petered out now

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 13/11/2011 17:30

Course you can come along! You can be the Oracle! Are you local to Wallingford?

OP posts:
PenguinArmy · 13/11/2011 18:00

erm missed that part, assumed it was in summertown again Grin But looking at the map it's still only 20mins away and that's how long it could take me to get to summertown.

but we're new to the area and still don't have any friends yet, plus being in the evening DH can have the uncoffee shop friendly toddler
