Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

Hi just wanted to say thanks for the yoga recommendations I went to my first class tonight in Woodstock (incase you were there ghost I was the wobbly one with no co- ordination) I really enjoyed it and will definitely go again : )

ghosteditor · 17/10/2011 23:24

Oh how funny I wondered just before I went in if you'd be there! Aren't we all wobbly in pre-natal yoga? Grin

I was there too. Lots of new faces tonight (only four from earlier classes) so not sure which one was you but welcome to the class anyway! I think Nicole said we'd do names next week...

Rollersara · 18/10/2011 07:19

We had new people too last night, I wondered if there was anyone from here!

Yes to meeting up, are we still aiming for Summertown on a weekend TBC in November? If so can offer lifts from ThornHill if that helps?!

ghosteditor · 18/10/2011 13:36

Still keen for a meet up but it looks like I may never have a free weekend again! All sorts of crazy between now and January.

I am actually free on Oct 30th if that works for anyone, but it will be the first weekend DH is home so I may not be able to stay out long. Would a morning meet up work this time? I'm also free on Nov 6th but not the following two weekends, then I should be free on Nov 27th. Saturdays aren't good for me I'm afraid but if that's better for everyone else then let me know and I'll try to make sure I'm available.

I will be starting to work 4 day weeks in Nov if all goes to plan (currently there's a major spanner in the works re maternity cover but I can't go in to it - suffice it to say that all will be ok in the end but I'm pretty stressed about it right now) so I will also be able to make the odd weekday meet up sometimes.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 18/10/2011 16:24

Oct 30 may be OK for me - I know DH's niece's christening is that weekend and they're usually Sundays aren;t they? Let me find out and I'll get back to you, but a lift from Thornhill would be appreciated if we go for it.

How long till you're on Mat leave ghost - we don't have to stick with weekends forever! :)

I'd love to meet up, I am having a halloween party on the 30th for 6 3 year olds at 2pm so morning would be good as i will need time to adjust my nose and dust off the broom [hwink]

I currently only work Tuesdays and Wednesdays but start mat leave in November (whoop whoop) so a midweeker would be nice.

Anyone fancy a meet up at Blenhiem sometime?

ghosteditor · 19/10/2011 09:27

Blenheim would be awesome but I probably don't get a vote since I live a few hundred yards away Grin

Well, I'm supposed to start working 4 day weeks in Nov but due to minor maternity cover crisis that may not happen. Then it's supposed to be 3 day weeks for first two weeks of Dec before starting mat leave on Dec 16th. Who knows if we'll have maternity cover in place by then....

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 19/10/2011 11:00

I'd like to go to Blenheim but depends how the PGP treatment goes as driving is pretty painful atm :(

It'd be nice to have a Wallingford one at some point - nice place to visit as it is, and only 5 mins driving for me.

Oh - and I can't do the 30th because of the christening, so count me out for that date.

Hello again, poor you Cakes not much fun : (
I'm happy to come to Wallingford I can't do the first weekend in Nov but am pretty much free all others. was the other date the 26th?

Moobee · 20/10/2011 04:37

Hello! Just a quick note to say a meet up would be great. I'm not sure what dates i can make though - we're currently ripping the house to bits and putting it back together - have realised how little time there is to do stuff now! also all my friends and family live far away and want to see us before the baby arrives so weekends are looking busy (stressfully so).

Wallingford is lovely - particularly the place makescakes recommended. I went there for dinner the other night as we currently have no kitchen. On that topic, I would love a cup of tea but the kettle is in a completely inaccessible room. :(

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 20/10/2011 08:29

Come and have tea with me! :)

PurplePanda · 20/10/2011 19:38

Hi Ladies, I'd like to come to a meet up, happy to do Summertown, Wallingford or Blenheim (need to renew my annual blenheim pass though!). I'm free on the 30th Oct and some Nov weekend days.

Moobee - you've described exactly how I'm feeling! We're decorating the hall/landing/stairs, need to finish the nursery, visiting family/friends plus ante-natal classes and usual Christmas stuff - I've still got three months until little one's due so there is loads of time, I just don't seem to have the energy anymore. I've got the day off tomorrow though so going to make the most of it and relax plus tidy up the house.

Re:yoga - I'm on the waiting list for the classes at Old Marston, Kay said there should be a space by the end of November so will hopefully be starting then!

Cakes - really hope the PGP treatment helps, it must be so frustrating for you.

Moobee · 21/10/2011 13:55

Thanks cakes that's very sweet of you! :) unfortunately I'm working all the time at the minute. :( maternity leave starts in 6 weeks and there's a lot to do in the meantime. I'm really looking forward to having some spare time once I start my leave. How come everything gets so busy at once?

Oh yes, some other news - I just got a letter confirmig that I've got my job! I had to interview for it three weeks ago. This means I've been promoted. :) It'll be pretty much the same job but with a bigger salary. brine by me!

purplepanda I wish I'd taken some time off to tidy. I think we'll be spending a lot of the weekend trying t make our environment more manageable! Still, at least come Christmas our houses will look great!

Moobee · 21/10/2011 14:06

Brine? I mean fine of course...

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 21/10/2011 16:33

hi Panda - when are you due?

I think my brain died today.

Just a thought but if weekends aren't working for all and week days are difficult for some ..... how about an evening?
[hsmile]

ghosteditor · 23/10/2011 11:14

An evening could work I guess! Am baffled by dates now... Any suggestions? Maybe we should fix both an Oxford date and a Wallingford date?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 13:26

evenings would suit me best because then I can make my personal chauffeur DH give me a lift!

I'm free all evenings except the week of the 7th Nov when I have work stuff to deal with.

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 23/10/2011 13:37

Mondays and Tuesdays are out for me I'm afraid, due to classes...

Lucycarr · 23/10/2011 19:39

Wed, thur or fri good for me I'm happy to pick others up if lifts are needed. The wine cafe in summertown would be a nice evening venue? Any other ideas? Don't know Wallingford at all - that makes it sound like I know Oxford.... I don't but dh works in summertown!
L

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 23/10/2011 20:19

Wallingford has a few nice places, but the Old Post Office is very central and easy to find as well as having excellent food if anyone is peckish. Never been in the evening, but I'm sure it would be nice, plus there's free parking in the Goldsmith's Lane carpark round the back. Am happy to come to Summertown and Dh said he'd drive me, but I'd need a postcode :) On the plus side I wouldn;t have to worry about parking if I'm getting dropped off!

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 24/10/2011 16:57

The wine cafe might be the best venue in Summertown of an evening - unless we go out for dinner but it might be a bit £££ and I have an expensive month already! Parking on side streets is fine in Summertown after 6pm usually. SIL has now moved into an apartment in Summertown so I am all sorted for visitor parking there, yey!

Is fab to see more people on the list - could we have a stats round up so that I am a bit less confused? Am all baby-brained at the moment...

According to this website the M&S cafe is open until 8pm Mon-Wed and 9pm Thurs-Fri - could be an option too?

An evening meet up is a great idea, my main criteria for a venue would be somewhere not too busy so we can sit down!! Wed or Thurs are good days for me (can't make Wed 9th or 23rd Nov though - but if these are better for everyone I could always come to the next meet up instead).

Moobee - congrats on the promotion!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 25/10/2011 08:04

I can't do 9th Nov either, so no worries, we have Wed 2nd Nov, Thur 3rd, then we're really into the week after the 9th, aren't we? 16th and 17th.

I'd be happy to meet up in Summertown on 2nd or 3rd, then Wallingford on 16th or 17th if there are enough people to make that work? M&S cafe sounds good to me, as there might be cake... that would make Thurs the best choice, wouldn't it? We got rather chatty last time!

As for Wallingford there's a few places as well as the Old Post Office - I can investigate evening happenings on Thursday when my mum takes me into town (bless her, she's driving all the way up from Surrey just to take me out and about due to this stupid no-driving dizziness.) But there is plenty of free parking after hours, so no problems there.
