Hi... so just been confirmed I'm due 10th (ish) of January and would love to get chatting to some others in the same area who are also expecting... As I said In the title that includes those of you due late 2011, as well - it's a very inclusive thread - as long as you'd be able to make some meet ups in Oxfordshire and you're going through some stage of reproduction then you'd be welcome :-)

I know there's at least one more of you out there (ghost - you there?)

Stats time:

MakesCakesWhenStressed - expecting #1 EDD 10 Jan 2012

Hi ladies, I am new to the area and due with our second child on Christmas eve! I would love to meet other mums/ mums to be locally.
I see lots of you are due v early 2012 so not too dissimilar to me just better timing!
: )

Moobee · 07/10/2011 22:00

Welcome Lucy! I'm due Jan 8th so not that different. We're thinking about having a meet up soon, possibly in Summertown - the more the merrier!

(iPhone just tried to change merrier to nerdier - probably apt for an Internet meet up! Grin)

chocolatesparkle · 08/10/2011 09:36

Hello (again), I joined this thread when it first started, but sadly miscarried last pregnancy at 7 weeks so had to jump off again. Anyway the good news is, I'm pregnant again and went for an early scan yesterday that showed an 8+6 baby with a heart beat, yay! So have fingers massively crossed but thought I would rear my head again on here. I've been watching the tread since I left anyway so really look forward to meeting you all at some point in the future. Pleased to see that there are a couple of you from the may board on here too.

ghosteditor · 08/10/2011 10:40

Welcome Lucy and welcome back sparkle (great news and hope you're doing ok)! Great to see the list fill out a bit!

Am currently in the queue for the Witney NCT sale - crazy busy! It's a good job I have a sizeable bump warming me up as it's pretty cold today. Wonder when I'll make it inside...

PurplePanda · 08/10/2011 12:05

Hi everyone, I'm 25 weeks pregnant and expecting our first baby in January -19th is my due date. Very excited, found out at the 20 week scan that he's a little boy!

Really glad I've found this thread as quite a few of you seem to be due around the same time. I've been starting to think about nurseries (it seems ridiculous but I've heard waiting lists can be up to a year, so I guess he needs to be on a list before he's born) - just wondering if anyone had started looking into this yet? I live in Headington.

ghosteditor · 08/10/2011 13:00

Panda, welcome to the list! I'm due on Jan 12th so you're in good company. Haven't yet looked at nurseries though!

ghosteditor · 08/10/2011 13:02

So wonderful to have a few more people on the list Grin

Rollersara · 09/10/2011 19:17

Hello all newcomers! I have actually had my baby on the nursery list at work as there is ~ 15 month wait! No idea what I'll do if I don't get her in so starting to consider alterntives and she's not even due till Feb!

How was Witney NCT ghost?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/10/2011 20:46

I know - so pleased to see new faces and really really happy to see you back Sparkle - are you still moving up here? When's your due date ?

We moved a couple of months ago (new home, new baby!). Living just south of Wallingford. Due on the 12th of May. I've already had my booking visit with one of the midwives at the Maternity Centre in Wallingford, she was lovely. Are you going to have your baby at the midwife led centre cakes, or go to JR?

chocolatesparkle · 10/10/2011 09:51

Sorry posted before i had added my last bit!... I'm so excited to be back on this board. Told my parents that I was pregnant yesterday and they were thrilled. Just really hope this one sticks.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 10/10/2011 11:26

I am having my baby at the MW led unit, God willing :) I love the MWs there and the GPs in Wallingford have been fab too. Please PM me if you want to meet up sometime and don;t forget to join the Wallingford local group to find out everything that's happening in the area - there' s a couple of good baby and bump groups for free which is really nice for making new friends.

May is a lovely time to have a baby, I do so hope this works out for you :)

Rollersara it was pretty good, if a bit cut throat! Had to help SIL with new flat paperwork in the morning so struggled to park when I got there, but the queue moved pretty fast. Picked up a couple of dresses for me and more importantly a few blankets (one obviously brand new and hand knitted!) and clothes for ppm. It was manic though!

Lucycarr · 10/10/2011 20:21

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies, I was wondering if any one knows of a pregnancy yoga class in or around Oxford ( we live near kidlington ) I'm keen to give it a try!

Rollersara · 11/10/2011 07:25

Hello Lucycarr! I've been going to yoga in Marston with Kay Millar, she is very good. link

PurplePanda · 11/10/2011 18:35

Ooh, I'd be interested in starting yoga - work has been a bit stressful and I've started feeling achy - I think an evening of relaxation could be in order! Can beginners come too Rollersara?

Rollersara · 11/10/2011 19:28

Kay likes you to book 4 weeks at a stretch (heh!), but all levels are welcome. I've done yoga for a while but I'm still rubbish, I do enjoy it though!

ghosteditor · 11/10/2011 20:21

hey ladies, just a flying visit, but can highly recommend Nicole who runs a prenatal yoga class in Woodstock, which I'm attending at the moment. It's 30 mins or so of discusion (about aspects of birth, labour, delivery, pregnancy etc) and then about 1.5 hours of yoga, which is very gentle. i've done yoga for a long time but we have total beginners in the class too. It's called buddhabellies and I highly recommend it - it's expensive though!

I also know that a former instructor of mine sometimes runs antenatal yoga in Kidlington - her name is Tanya and I think her company is White Star or something similar - she's thoroughly lovely and I used to love her (ordinary) yoga class at my gym.

In case you couldn't guess, I'm also a big fan of yoga, especially in pregnancy Grin

schets · 12/10/2011 14:45

Hi All,

Would like to join your thread if its not too late?! Im 19wks and due in March, I live on the oxford bucks border out near bicester...:-)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 12/10/2011 15:52

Course it's not too late! Congrats and welcome :-)

I'd love to do yoga, but am having some really bad pain in my groin which hurts when I get dressed, walk and drive. Ouchie. Am going to talk to MW at my appt on Monday - don't know if it's just a ligament thing or what, but it's getting worse.

Oh well - got some exciting work stuff happening atm - will tell you more when I don;t have to do dinner!

OP posts:
Lucycarr · 12/10/2011 19:57

Thanks all have sent Kay an email but might get in touch with Nicole too as Woodstock is a bit nearer.
Sorry To hear about you groin pain cakes not fun: (

PurplePanda · 13/10/2011 20:42

Like the pun rollersara!! Old Marston is very near me so am going to look into the yoga there. Cakes - Hope the MW can help with the groin pain.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 14/10/2011 10:26

PGP Hope I get a physio referral.

I have a new client - she makes sheepskin accessories including baby things (buggy liners, bootees, mittens and hats) which are totally adorable. I'm really excited about promoting her as I really believe in her products - good thing since she's now my only client since my main ones are strapped for cash and have asked me to stop working for them for the time being Oh well. At least I can focus on the new client, whom I love.

ghosteditor · 16/10/2011 14:02

Sorry to hear about the PGP cakes, has it eased off any this week? You'll have to let us know about the baby stuff you're promoting, some snuggly warm fabric for the pram is going to be essential in Jan!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 17/10/2011 08:27

Still pretty sore unfortunately - had to sleep in a bump band last night which was... interesting. Helped the pain, not so good for the heartburn!

Some of the baby stuff is here, but will have to get my client to do a proper section for it on her website! I can testify as to how cosy and cute the bootees are - I saw them in person on Friday and had to be forcibly restrained from grabbing a handful and stuffing them in my handbag ;) My mum was impressed too - she said she didn't think much of baby's chances of pulling them off!

Despite the doom and gloom of PGP and money stuff I'm still pretty cheerful. I seem to have gone all zen recently, which is really nice after the hysterical drama of recent weeks!

Hope you're all well - shall we set a date for our next meet up?
