Anyone due in July?

Hi all,

Not seen a July thread on here so I?m hoping I?m not alone. 27+3 today and so far I have bought everything I could think of! I have a scan later on this afternoon. I?m hoping all will still be ok.
I?m looking forward to giving up work for mat leave shortly. Work is really annoying the hell out of me. My male bosses are so not bothered with giving me any special treatment whatsoever so I?m still carrying a laptop bag everyday in and out of work weighing 3st And I won?t mention that I have to carry this up 25 stairs into the building everyday? Grr

Anyone else fed up and wishing bubba?s due date was here already?

Hi ladies,

can I join ? Feeling that I'm inbetween the big July and Aug threads as I'm due on the 24th July - seems like there's a few of us around the middle/end ?

Glad it's not just me on the sweeties- am totally a savoury person and not even a big fan of chocolate but it's all about sugar at the moment...mmm to the meringues/fruit/cream combo prolific....

It's my first and I feel a bit blissfully ignorant about what's to come .... and feeling your pain ladies re summer clothes which I totally didn't expect living in Scotland in April Grin - managed to get 2 pairs of next maternity linen 3/4 trousers on ebay last week for a great price so that's helping here..

prolificwillybreeder · 22/04/2011 06:46

Hi run congratulations! Being blissfully ignorant is the best way IMO! I think I have either a tummy upset/something's up, so will have to delay the meringue and cream :(
I've got some maternity summer stuff but i really need some everyday sun dresses really. Something I can just chuck on I think.
I'm awake blooming early today annoyingly!
Ah well.
Have a good day all :)

sparklytoes · 22/04/2011 13:10

Hope you feel better soon prolific, you got me thinking about the meringues though, esp with raspberries - YUM!
I was having a grumpy day at work on wed and one of my colleagues appeared on THursday with a load of cake to cheer me up - hmm , I think I have been going on about cake too mcuh!
Hope the sun is shining for you all ladies! A bit cloudy here but we are off for an overnight trip to the borders so hopefully it will be better there.
x

ShazGJ · 22/04/2011 15:18

Been baby shopping Grin. Got some bargains, electric tomme tippee steriliser half price in mothercare and Boots have a 3 for 2 baby event on so got first thing for my hospital bag maternity pads! Also got some closer to nature bottles and a bottle warmer. I am planning to breast feed but none of my family have ever been successful at it so being realistic. If I can do it then I can express and use the bottles.

prolificwillybreeder · 22/04/2011 17:13

Shaz- we have used those bottles and steriliser and they are really good IMO.
I've had ice-cream and pringles today so probably shouldn't have pavlova too! :(
Had a lovely time shopping got a maxi dress in my normal size for £7 in Primark- what a bargain! It looks rather pricey IMO.
Also sandals for £2.50 for my fat feet Grin

Now just need to go somewhere nice to wear them!

Hope you've all had a good day

ShazGJ · 24/04/2011 17:00

OMG just spike to the MIL and she's already talking about Christenings! We thought it would come up quite quickly as she has been bugging DHs cousin about it since she had her daughter 3 years ago. The thing is she isn't particularly religious just goes to church at Christmas. Me and DH are not church goers. Anyone know if it makes any difference to what your child can and can't do if they're not christened?

HighFibreDiet · 24/04/2011 17:21

Oh Shaz I really feel for you with your MIL re. christening. It was the one sticking point with dp's mum, otherwise she was absolutely fine about me getting pg and us not even being married etc. etc. The problem is that she was quite religious (Catholic) so as far as she was concerned, if we didn't have ds1 christened and he died, he would go to hell. Which is pretty awful if you believe it, except neither of us do. She even wanted us to just go to the nearest church and stand up and say the words even if we didn't believe them, but I wasn't prepared to do that.

In terms of what they can and can't do of course it makes no difference at all, it's just to do with whether you're prepared to offend her by letting your beliefs take precedence over hers.

I'm due in July too, by the way, but usually on the July antenatal thread. Just up late today (in Australia) and can't stay off mumsnet even though I really should be getting more sleep. Also a spd sufferer although trying to keep it in check with physio exercises and minimal walking.

ShazGJ · 24/04/2011 17:32

Thanks HighFibre - It's reassuring that it makes no difference either way. Was expecting the pressure after the birth just not this soon lol. My sympathies as a fellow SPD sufferer, I over did it yesterday got my nesting instinct and had urge to deep clean the bathroom and took dogs for a walk so trying to relax a bit more today lol.

HighFibreDiet · 26/04/2011 14:07

oh have just thought of one situation in which it might make a difference - years down the line though - getting into schools! If you wanted your child to go to a church school it would help if they had been christened, although it also makes a huge difference if you are prepared to go to church regularly yourself as well. I know so many people who are not really churchgoers but who have done it regularly enough to get their kids into the local church school Hmm. Again, it wasn't something dp and I were prepared to do and having endured Catholic school up to age 11 he didn't want his kids to go to one anyway.

yes it's easy to overdo things with the spd isn't it? Had a lovely massage today though which makes a difference :)

ninipops · 26/04/2011 14:37

Hi all, I am just scraping in here - DS is due on the 31st of July. His big sister was induced two weeks early so I have no idea if I am an early or late type for actually giving birth. Sympathy to all SPD sufferers here - I am right with you although have just purchased a new bed having discovered that the one we have is too hard and am just drooling in anticipation of it arriving. Spent about 20 min lying on it in the shop yesterday and had to be dragged off it so someone else could try it!

RunDMC - this weather is great isn't it although like everyone am struggling with the clothes aspect of it. DD was a winter baby so all my maternity clothes are wintery. I don't have easy access to a Primark and have no intention of spending a fortune on dress for a few months - so far surviving on t-shirts and leggings.

Nice to meet you all ladies and hope all continues to go well.

prolificwillybreeder · 26/04/2011 20:01

Hi ladies, how are we all?
Had a good Easter? I'm very happy I have a 3 Easter eggs to munch on :)

It's so easy to overdo it with SPD I waddled far too far yesterday and I'm paying for it today :( I just feel so frustrated! I also am crap at asking for help so probably do more than I should anyway. Much to my physio's dismay!

Anyone doing anything for the Royal Wedding? We aren't but I expect a trip to my folks is in order with some fizz. Why not eh?
My heartburn is bad today.
How is everyone else holding up?

RunDMC · 26/04/2011 21:17

good thanks here prolific.. was my DH's 40th last week so have maxed out on easter eggs, birthday cake and all sorts of badness. Haven't been putting much weight on although in the last 2 weeks have piled on a total of 5 lbs...am telling myself it's the baby getting bigger !

Sorry to hear about the SPD problems - I'm crossing my fingers I don't get it as I already have dodgy hips - one is bionic (i.e. a replacement joint) and the other has a very shallow hip socket...they are holding out so far though so fingers crossed.

Going round to my mum's to watch the big event then in the afternoon off to the Baby Show which is on in Glasgow so will be looking for some bargains as I made the mistake this week of adding up how much everything is going to cost Shock

hilltop666 · 26/04/2011 21:29

Hi all, haven't been on thi thread n a while hope u all had a nice Easter, I had a v lazy one with plenty of chocolate eaten I figure ifI can't do it now when can I, and I still have a lindt gold bunny waiting on me!! yum!

Just back from a 4 mile walk - feel great but am on a double dose of iron tablets so they're giving me a dicky tummy and I can feel it starting to kick in now.

Anyone else having a nitemare with Iron tablets??

laurieleigh · 26/04/2011 21:36

Babyshow is good if just to get an idea. Best friend is 8 weeks ahead of me so we went ages back with them in feb. We didn't really have much of a clue then! I think you can find some good bargains but do your homework - figure out what exactly it is you want (or need!) and go armed with Internet prices.

witches · 26/04/2011 22:17

Hi Everyone another end of July / August here! and Run im also in central scotland and had to dash out and buy some clothes for the lovely weather ( good excuse too) I am piling on the weight and just love the comments one day gosh ur big and the next your very petite! feel like a whale tho!

RunDMC · 26/04/2011 22:23

thanks laurieleigh for the tips.. yes have been researching prices etc this week so hopefully will be able to do some bargaining...

hi witches I've had those comments too - along with the predictions...oh definitely a girl etc... Is this your first ? Am keeping my fingers crossed that the labour ward moves from Stirling to the new hospital before my EDD !

RunDMC · 26/04/2011 22:26

meant to say witches I think we 'met' on the Scottish thread a couple of weeks ago - aren't we due around the same time ? I'm 27+3 at the moment..

HighFibreDiet · 27/04/2011 12:43

hello again everyone. Even in my 4th pregnancy it still amazes me how people feel free to comment on size - and usually with very little basis for saying how huge or petite you are.

hilltop I remember changing my antenatal supplement before, specifically to avoid the added iron because it gave me constipation. This time round my iron levels looked fine but the mw still said to be careful that I was taking in enough so I am trying to eat loads of greens and drink nettle tea (yum)! Presumably you've been shown to have low Hb so that's why you're on the supplements though?

FestivalLou · 27/04/2011 14:16

Hi, New here!

i'm due on July 4th - expecting a boy and its my first ;)

ShazGJ · 27/04/2011 16:49

I really enjoyed my easter egg but then got really bad indigestion Sad, ended up with ms for 2nd time this trimester and stomach ache all bank holiday Monday. By the time I felt better it was time to go back to work Angry.

Anyone else in 3rd trimester who has had the return of unwanted 1st trimester symtoms?

ParisPreMom · 27/04/2011 19:21

Hi everyone,
I'm in my 30th week and am starting to dread bed time, as it's getting harder and harder to find a comfortable sleeping position...waking up around 4 as well to go pee. I've ordered a long body pillow but hasn't arrived yet. When I'm on my sides, I feel so much pressure on the side of my gut, like baby's full weight has slide across. Anyone else have that?

laurieleigh · 27/04/2011 19:50

hi paris - yep 4am wee then baby wakes up and decides it's party time so that's it for trying to get back to sleep! :(
other than that not too much trouble sleeping, side sleeping is uncomfortable, but on my back's still ok at the moment. did buy a body pillow a while back but haven't really needed it yet.

ShazGJ · 27/04/2011 19:58

I also find it more comfortable to sleep on my back. Pre pregnancy I used to sleep on my side in the foetal position but can't do that now cuz of my bump so can't get comfy on my side. Also waking up about 5:30 for a wee then can't get back to sleep.

hilltop666 · 28/04/2011 20:49

shaz I wake up every morn to pee at 5:30 on the dot - its crazy!!

I'm 31wks tomor ladies- can't believe im gonna be counting down the weeks in single numbers now- woohoo bring on the LO!! Grin

prolificwillybreeder · 30/04/2011 22:26

Hi all :)
I too am enjoying easter eggs!
Hilltop- whoah single figure countdown! Single figure weeks make it seem very real, very quickly IMO. I remember with DS i got to 39 weeks, seeing tv adverts thinking I would of had a baby by the time that show was on!
Shaz- I am having real trouble sleeping :( mainly sleep on the back or left.
Paris- I can relate completely, I just want to sleep and not feel so blooming uncomfy. My SPD is making it even worse :( hows the pillow? I want one of those! But with DP and on occasion DS in the bed, I'm not sure there is room! :(
Shaz-Have also got the 1st trimester symptoms back- peeing all the time, boobs hurt, feel sick.

Did some ligament damage and ended up in day assessment. All ok, just need be careful I guess. This little man is head down though. Hope he stays that way.

Hope everyone is ok sorry have to quickly post and run my phone only let's me half the blooming messages!
