Oh god, don't say that!! I felt awful until about week 19...and now we're TTC number two....oh dear. Boak.

lolajane2009 · 14/04/2011 21:01

i would go to the doctor if it is that severe.

HumphreyCobbler · 14/04/2011 21:02

you do forget

I remembered as soon as I got a positive test for DD

and was poisonous to DH when he went to bed with a stomach bug whilst I was in the full throws of MS. How very dare he?

Asinine · 14/04/2011 21:02

No, I remember it clearly. Driving to work in a traffic jam, suddenly vomited and accelerated into car in front. Driver gets out to shout at me. When he sees the mess all over the dash, he just said " OMG are you ok? ". I said i'm fine, just pg..."

And vomiting into a bowl in my drawer between patients, and spraying air freshened to hide the smell....

And vomiting on the ward at the sight of a gangrenous foot...

Brahbrah · 14/04/2011 21:02

Yep. When it all started again with my second pregnancy I swore I was never going to do it again, and I've remembered that bit at least.

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 14/04/2011 21:02

with all my pgs ive had sickness to some degree, but i must have blocked it out.

You're 5wks pregnant? Your thread dropped off my I'm On list obviously. How are you? I'm grinning just a wee bit here.

What I found weird about it was that you'd feel utterly fine sometimes and within seconds you'd be retching. I found that my gag reflex was so sensitive that if I stretched my chin up and thereby stretched my throat, I threw up.

And no food being appealing was miserable. Oh and the smell. Everything smells bad in early pregnancy. The fridge and dh in particular.

BikeRunSki · 14/04/2011 21:04

No. I didn't forget. Nor did DH, but we still did it again.
Got HG again.
Been in hospital again.
On lots of tablets again.
Have been asleep and vomitting pretty much constantly for 6 weeks, but beginning to feel a bit better now.
And this time I have a 2 year old to look after too!

DH has been a superstar and has never once said "Told you so".

There will be no more DC for us.

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 14/04/2011 21:06

when i was pg with ds, vomitting into the bin and cuitting my finger (was chopping lemons) when the chef walked past with steaks inspired me to take a test. and my 4th pg i threw up in the highstreet outside greggs! seeing doc tomorrow to book next weeks scan, but im supposed to be baking with my niece and nephew.

lissielou the queasy feeling was bad enough, hope your bean is a very sticky one

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 14/04/2011 21:09

showy, yep Grin i think i half knew but was confirmed by nurse.

ShowOfHands · 14/04/2011 21:10

Fabulous news.

I vomited in a bin outside our local bakery. Was okay one minute, retching over a bin the next. I did hear a woman mutter 'drunk' as she walked past. It was 11am.

Boosaphena · 14/04/2011 21:14

I'm in the same class as bike
I've never forgot, but been hopeful! Now 14 weeks have HG been in hospital lost over a stone and am now plotting, I mean planning, dh's vasectomy!
I also have a 3yr old and 1yr old at home with me.

It will get better and it will be worth it ( and yes I am rocking as I repeat that to myself!)

CPtart · 14/04/2011 21:14

Never, never, never will I forget that horrendous feeling. On and on, day and night, week after week.......like being slowly poisoned!

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 14/04/2011 21:23

thank you showy. i think, because weve been ttc for so long, ive been focussing on the positives to keep going, but have forgotten that feeling of never wanting to eat again

Hi Boosephena I have given DH the choice re: vasectomy -
He can go and see our friend who is a vet
I can do it with a couple of bricks
He can go to see our GP and arrange to see a surgeon

BikeRunSki · 14/04/2011 21:28

But Boo you are also mental because you're doing this for the 3rd time!

ConnorTraceptive · 14/04/2011 21:34

oh it's hideous isn't? Even four years on there are certain things that trigger that feeling of nausea. I still can't watch sheen or Thomas the tank engine as it was on constantly to keep ds1 amused whilst I was so ill with ds2.

I also remember wanting to kill the next person who suggested eating a ginger biscuit before I got out of bed in the morning!

Boosaphena · 14/04/2011 21:46

Hee hee I know bike but like I said, I was hopeful... 3rd time lucky and all that. I was chatting with my doc and made a joke about taking 2 bricks to dh, and she said 'oh no' (at which point I thought oops-prob not a funny to make to the doc) 'oh no, 1 brick will do it-I'll make sure of it!!!!' tee hee you gotta love a doc with a sense of humour!

TobyLerone · 15/04/2011 11:13

I puked in front of some nun outside a Catholic school while on my way to the bus stop to go to work. They walked me back home and insisted I phone in sick.

Reckon they thought I was some kind of wino.

LadyOfTheManor · 15/04/2011 11:21

I am so horrifically bluergh. Felt fine up until Tuesday. 7 + something and feeling shite. Have an appointment to see GP this afternoon and acupuncturist tomorrow morning, if I live that long.

Not BEING sick but horrific nausea. With ds I was in hospital, so I ought to be thankful it isn't as bad this time around. How do women cope with morning sickness and toddlers?

chocolatecoveredlissielou · 15/04/2011 11:27

glad its not just me. dh got in from work last night and I was tucked up in bed with a bin next to me. couldnt even go to sleep because I felt so sick!

I'm finding pear drops little saviours. Only problem is if I don't have one in my mouth I feel sick and they're beginning to get sickly. Have abandoned my son at my mother's and then he is off to nursery for half day. I shall threatenbeg my doc for some drugs.
