Hi
Worried sick re scan. 1st time pregnant only felt nauseous, severe tiredness and did have sore boobs but all worn off- now 11+4. no sign of swelling/bloating/bump. Basically back to normal now.
Is this normal? I'm terrified it's mmc.
Anyone had same thing and there was actually a baby at scan?

Sorry about posting this on few threads but can't get it out of my head:(

Xxxx

it takes about a second and a half to see something of baby crazy
bob on my profile, and there's a 12 week scan picture in my photos. The sonographer got that with the first landing on my tummy of the probe thingy (I don't know what these things are called!). They know where to look!
Remember:
sonographers are weird people. S/he will not be excited like you are. Don't let that take anything away from the experience.
Also - take some change with you in case you have to pay for pictures (some NHS trusts make you pay, some don't).
Only 2 days now! x

CrazyAlien06 · 15/03/2011 13:06

Thanks guys for your scan info. This time in two days I'll be at home waiting for DH to get back from work so we can head to hospital! X

I had all the symptoms from week 6 and suddenly got to week 11 and felt a million times better, sickness stopped, sore boobs eased off. I was convinced there was something wrong, especially because as I have had a mmc before.

However, I went for my 12 wk scan this morning and everything was fine!

I guess its best not to worry but I know that's easier said than done.

Good luck, I am sure it will be ok.

JumpingForJuly · 15/03/2011 14:51

When I was about 11 weeks I had the "not pregnant feeling" too, I think by 11 weeks I'd got used to feeling tired and nauseous so I almost didnt feel it anymore, if that makes sense.

But everything was fine and I'm now 24 weeks with a little girl so it is a really common feeling and just think in 2 days you will have seen your lovely baby for the first time Grin

CrazyAlien06 · 15/03/2011 17:18

angelsw12 glad to hear that your scan went well :D

JumpingForJuly wow thats scary when you put it like that lol . I can't wait to see my baby and just hope with all my heart that all is well and there is a baby growing in there :D

I wouldn't worry about not feeling pregnant yet. I'm 22+2 and actually said to my DP yesterday "I haven't had my period in ages" to which he replied "yep, probably not had one for about 5 & half months, maybe you're pregnant Wink"

davidtennantsmistress · 16/03/2011 07:56

I had it as well, about 11 weeks, panic'ed did DP's head in i'm sure, then about 3 days later ALL symptoms came back with a vengeance. it seems normal tbh I read something about the placenta takes over from your hormones about 11 weeks - not sure if it's right or not thou.

hubbahubster · 16/03/2011 14:02

Me too! I totally understand how you feel ? I had a MMC in June, detected at around 11 weeks, so when my (very few ? just sore boobs) symptoms this time went at 11wks, I was a bawling wreck.

Had my 20wk scan last week and found out we're having a perfectly healthy baby boy. Still don't feel pregnant either!

Please don't be too stressed ? tomorrow will come and go in a flash. Have some hugs to keep you going ((()))

CrazyAlien06 · 16/03/2011 16:57

Thank you hubba :D I'm worried sick as this time tomorrow I'll know if everything is ok and it's terrifying!
Its about an hour to hospital and it should be fun trying not to pee myself as been told to drink two drinks before the scan.

I will update this thread as soon as I have the news be it good or bad! Joys of technology :D

Valiant1 · 16/03/2011 18:14

Oh no i am sure you will do fine hun. a friend of mine who is a teacher decided to do a cake decorating lesson with her class when she had her obs with the head went badly wrong! the icing was too watery and the kids were in a mess... so as long as you do not using icing you will be fine xxxxx what ttime your scan? have a relaxing bath tonight and non alcholic drink and you will be fine xx

CrazyAlien06 · 16/03/2011 21:35

Well my head has practically written my lesson for me and some of it's not what I would do so going to leave it out which will no doubt leave head moaning at me but I don't care lol. Have taken myself off to bed to read my book and try to take my mind off tomorrow!
Scan appointment is for 2:30 just hoping we make it as takes us hour to get there. I shall post on here as soon as I can after with good or bad news :/
If it's bad DH and I are going out drinking and if it's good we are going out and celebrating with me not drinking lol.
I'm just scared nothing will be there and the anticipation and stress that I know I'll be feeling when waiting to go in will be so uncomfortable I will know doubt pee DH off!
I'm trying to reassure myself that mmc are not really that common but I know people that have had them and that's what scares me :-(
I hope that for once something goes right for me as I spend all my life looking after other people and making sure they are ok.
Sorry for rant:(!
Xx

Crazy, I promise you that is EXACTLY how I felt - after syaing I never wanted any children, I suddenly became petrified - in the way you describe now!

look forward to your update tomorrow - good luck, keep calm - as calm as you can anyway x

CrazyAlien06 · 17/03/2011 07:03

Thank u for tour kind words mazybrown
I didn't sleep hardly at all last night :( shattered and got that stupid observation in a while! If they moan about any aspect of it im going to say my mind was more concerned about the hospital appointment I had in the afternoon !( they don't know yet)
My life has always revolved around school and pleasing everyone! Hopefully from this afternoon my priorities change to looking after someone I've created with my DH :D x

davidtennantsmistress · 17/03/2011 08:15

maxybrown · 17/03/2011 09:06

Guess you will be in schol now anyway. Keep calm keep calm! Smile

Valiant1 · 17/03/2011 09:19

sending positive e-vibes hun xxxxxx for this morning and this afternoon xxxxx

hubbahubster · 17/03/2011 09:29

Good luck today CrazyAlien, check in when you can and let us know how you're doing. Try to remember that you stressing will make absolutely no difference to the outcome of the scan ? you're just upsetting yourself so try and chill (I know it's easier said than done, but give it a go!)

CrazyAlien06 · 17/03/2011 10:52

Thanks guys! Few mins until my horrid observation then scan time! Will update asap xx

MandaHugNKiss · 17/03/2011 12:04

Been lurking on the thread, so just wanted to say wishing you lots of good luck for the scan!

CrazyAlien06 · 17/03/2011 12:44

Thanks again peeps! Treating myself to huge mc donalds for surviving my observation haha. Am soooooo terrified! The only people that know scan is today is DH , our dog lol and you guys!:D
Not looking forward to drinking loads an hour before and having to survive journey to hospital! Plus hospitals make my feel sick and have bad memories for me and DH x DH absolutely hates them as last time we were in one was to basically say goodbye to his Dad :( my DH was only 24 when that happened :( x

OP posts:
hubbahubster · 17/03/2011 12:55

My sonographer actually said drinking too much beforehand makes it hard to see baby! I guess different hospitals have different policies though.

Water will go into your system very quickly ? take a bottle with you and drink it there rather than bursting in the car for an hour! You'll have to wait when you get there anyway?
