Hi all,

Thought I would post this in pregnancy rather than conception. I just wanted to know how long it took you to conceive...?

Was it quick or a long difficult journey?

Just a bit curious as I am onto cycle 17 of TTC - had all tests done and they have come back clear/normal and still no sign of a pregnancy. Not too worried, but there are so many statistics as to how long it takes... just wondering how long it took some of the mumsnetters....

Thanks for reading!

DS - one month

DD - 2 years (not including 6 months off in the middle for a course of prostap injections to combat endometriosis)

IslaValargeone · 03/03/2011 14:47

I'm another quick conceiver, had unprotected sex twice and got pregant both times, once with twins Shock I wish you loads of luck xxxxx

ilovedjasondonovan · 03/03/2011 14:49

2 years - ended in mmc. All tests said we were normal.
2 months - DD1
1 month DD2.

Guess the mmc cleared things out and got things going.

currently pg with number 1.

I had decided months before that i WAS going to get pg in December 2010.

came off the pill in augast and had been taking folic acid and followed by conception vitamins, and OH had zinc& conception vits as well.

I had been charting for months and using OPKs for months to get used to my cycle, and when December came i used a CBFM as well (although dont think i needed it as i already what it told me)

I used every old wives tale and every hint i could find...

Was very lucky and got pg straight away at first try.

DC1 due in september

ilovedjasondonovan · 03/03/2011 14:52

Oh and I was 28 when we startedf TTC#1

Dontbugmemalone · 03/03/2011 14:54

10 days, DS was a complete surprise :)

Dontbugmemalone · 03/03/2011 14:55

oops forgot to write good luck and don't worry about it too much.

skorpion · 03/03/2011 14:57

Another quick one to concieve here.

DD came off pill Dec 2009, pg March 2010.

This one, 11 weeks gone, can't tell, because my period hadn't come back with bf DD.

All the best of luck!

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 03/03/2011 14:57

First month of trying both times.

skorpion · 03/03/2011 14:58

Sorry, that should be Dec 2008, March 2009. Pregnancy brain already??? Blush

thingumybob · 03/03/2011 15:02

DC1 took 14 months, DC2 took 2.5 yrs, DC3 took 3.5 yrs currently pg. I was 27, 31 and 35. I have PCOS but didn't get as far as being treated, each time losing weight was enough in time.

Good luck.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/03/2011 15:04

First month both times, once aged 30 and then again aged 33.

DD1 - Came off pill in April. Pregnant in November at 37.
DD2 - Coil removed in March, waited 1 month then conceived the first month of trying at 42 - much to my and DH's shock!

girlfromdownsouth · 03/03/2011 15:16

Pg1 - 8 months - ended in m/c at 12 wks (age 31)
DD - 4th month after m/c (age 31)
DS - 4th month when DD was 10 months, but 2nd month after stopped b/f DD (age 32)
DC3 - 6 months of ttc (age 39)

I know it can be disheartening LankyLegs but all you can do is keep going. Good Luck.

BarbieLovesKen · 03/03/2011 15:29

DD - a suprise - we were using condoms and I was on the pill.
2nd pregnancy (a miscarraige) - 1 cycle.
DS - 1 cycle.
Current pregnancy - 1 cycle - we are scarily fertile and very lucky but will really have to look into contraception as we're fairly sure this one is our last, should dh have a "bad" thought I dont want to wind up pregnant again.

Friend was trying for 18 months and was beginning to worry - now 6.5 months pregnant with her first Smile

BarbieLovesKen · 03/03/2011 15:34

surprise sorry, didnt add ages - with dd I was 19 (gave birth at 20), ds was 23 (gave birth at 24) and this one I am currently 25 (conceived at 24) and (hopefully) will give birth at 25.

The very, very best of luck

As soon as DH looked at me each of the three times, age 21, 24 and now 31. I know I'm incredibly lucky, and good luck to you, I hope that this happens for you very soon. x

JBrd · 03/03/2011 17:29

8 months after coming off the pill. But DH works away from home a lot, so I'm fairly sure we missed quite a few opportunities...

Good luck!

kirrinIsland · 03/03/2011 17:41

MC1 - 2 months (32)
DD - 3 months (33)
Good luck Smile

Hulababy · 03/03/2011 17:51

15m, early mc, then another 15m of TTc - with DD1

Been TTC for 6 years, albeit no specific planning or timing for last few years, for DC2 to no avail. Had a couple of minor ops, hrt treatment and Clomid but nothing has worked. Apparently we have no physical issues, just secondary inertility with no known cause.

Marabou · 03/03/2011 18:23

First time lucky Smile..

Best of luck to you!

phooey · 03/03/2011 18:31

Ooh this is an exciting thread!

I'm ttc my first, and currently on my first ever 2ww. Hope I'm as lucky as lots of you were!

I thought 6 months was average? That's what me and DH are prepared for anyway - any earlier and we'll still have debt, any later and we'll have savings Grin

CrazyHorse · 03/03/2011 18:35

DC1, unexpected.

DC2 first month of trying.

DC3, missed one pill, and got pregnant.

Yes, I do realise how lucky I am.
