Pregnancy Cravings

I am pregnant with number 3 and had a massive craving for eggy bread this morning. I have not had eggy bread for years, but after 3 slices I now feel as though everything is right with the world and the craving has passed. Phew!

Never had this with DD1 and DD2, although a bag of Haribo could be destroyed in an afternoon when I was pregnant with them.....

Wondered what other mums to be were craving?

I've just had a sugar ring doughnut, been craving one for weeks but only just found one (well actually 3 they were on special) that actually fulfilled the strict criteria of the type of doughnut I was craving!

I am now thinking about how nice your eggy bread sounds Grin

QueenOfTheMadhouse · 03/03/2011 13:50

Carrot batons and full sugar fizzy drinks...

A bag of Haribo sounds good Grin

Just to be different, it is my DH who has the cravings! Seriously...he would kill for tomatoes a few weeks ago, a few months ago it was fish every night for weeks on end, the latest thing is beetroot...for every meal and in between as well if he could!
Me? Just chocolate!

MillieMoo81 · 03/03/2011 15:27

After going off sweet things completely during my first and part of second trimester, my sweet tooth has returned with a vengeance Sad...

Apart from that I have to have lentils at least once a week! And pasta...

RugbyWidow7 · 03/03/2011 17:23

uugh, starting to regret reading this thread, as I'm trying v hard not to hit the kitchen! Sweets, sweets and more sweets. Currently trying to replace haribo with dried fruit. Carbs are a new thing too. This avo, ham & sausages. My backside is expanding at a rapid pace!

jasmine51 · 03/03/2011 18:25

StainlessSteelCat · 03/03/2011 18:30

Toast and marmite. Followed by more toast and marmite :) During my first pregnancy there were a couple of months when if I didn't eat a grapefruit every day there would be trouble. I still fondly remember those days when I had healthy cravings, will be replaced by cake cravings soon enough.

MrsBakerNeeld · 03/03/2011 19:08

Meat, meat and more meat. I can't get enough of it! Especially KFC at the moment, trying to take it easy on that though.

apple99 · 03/03/2011 19:10

Jacket potatoes, tomatoes, pasta and fruit juice (not all together).

danio7 · 03/03/2011 20:49

apple99 jacket potatoes!!!!! I cant get enought, 6 a day atleast with nothing but butter and vinegar- DH swears i'm going to give birth to one! :)

gothmom · 03/03/2011 21:20

I made the mistake of buying a "what not to eat when you are pregnant" book early on, read it and became seriously miserable about food. Just went off eating at some points and had to be quite strict with myself about not missing meals for the baby's sake. Now I am suffering from the galloping cakey pangs much to DH's delight. Thank goodness for ASDAs muffins!
Post birth I will be looking forward to a rare steak, some stilton, and a large G&T. Smile

boredbuthappy · 03/03/2011 21:21
