Just thought I'd say hi and admit that I've come over from the other side (Netmums).

I found netmums when I was pregnant with my son (now 2) and stupidly thought that one parenting website was much the same as the other and stuck with it.

It seems I was wrong. At last a forum where I don't have to spend my time being incensed by small minded opinions... Nauseated by faux camaraderie... Confused by entire messages written in text speak... Concerned for the future literacy of our country...

Faith is restored. Now I'm pregnant again I shall come here for advice. Thanks mumsnet mums!

We do make our own tickers for those who are new and missing the action.

.. 21 minutes since I last dunked a custard cream in my gin ..

Wasn't that pretty?

Welcome Smile

welcome Smile

moogdroog · 01/03/2011 16:57

I do feel much more at home now with a couple of tickers going... if only they were animated for the full migraine inducing effect...

Thanks for the welcomes!

restingkitty · 01/03/2011 18:00

just looked at netmums out of curiosity... I see one of the hot topics of the day is "do pickled onions count as one of your 5 a day?"

can't see any tickers though hun

twirlymum · 01/03/2011 18:31

I count a chocolate orange as one of my five a day.

Welcome Grin

Prinpo · 01/03/2011 19:06

Ah, that's what tickers are Smile.

Would I be horribly overstepping the mark to point out that I've had two miscarriages, but no angels in heaven?

Welcome, moogdroog. Brew

d0gFace · 01/03/2011 20:13

welcome :)

InmaculadaConcepcion · 01/03/2011 20:19

Hiya!

I remember when I got pg, I was actually vaguely looking for Mumsnet, without knowing much about it at the time.

I stumbled on Netmums but after reading a couple of the threads I felt so nauseated with all the huns, {{{hugs}}}, bubs, sticky baby-dust and the rest I beat a hasty retreat.

It took until my seventh month of pg to venture into the ante-natal offerings online and boy, was I relieved to find MN.

Lovely to have you here, hun Wink

sh77 · 01/03/2011 22:50

Welcome! If you think netmums is nauseating, babyandbump is even worse.

NHAN · 01/03/2011 23:01

Hello :) me too!
Stuck with netmums for ages and do still go on pregnancy thread but got sick to death of the judgements and stupidness.
Haven't got to grips with this site yet but no complaints so far.

Perpetuallypregnant · 02/03/2011 00:51

Hi and welcome to the fucking dark side :)

Swearing is compulsory and Huns are blacklisted :)

I felt I had come home when I found mn

JetSetWilly · 02/03/2011 00:55

What about bounty? Where do they stand in the huns hierarchy?

JetSetWilly · 02/03/2011 00:56

Oh and welcome moogdroog

buttonmoon78 · 02/03/2011 06:19

Inbetweener are you a defect or a defecter? Either way is good for me! I think most of us on here would be counted as Netmums defects... Wink

coraltoes · 02/03/2011 08:26

I thought the title said defecated! Shock

MandaHugNKiss · 02/03/2011 08:41

coraltoes would that be so unusual? Pregnancy constipation means a good poo is often cause for a thread of celebration... Grin

I think you'll find plenty of judgeypants here too but they will a) be self-aware that they are indeed being judgey (or may actually ask 'AIBU?') and b) will at least have well thought out, literate reasoning to back up said judgeypants (generally).

It's a beautiful thing.

(there are also when occasion calls. Also a beautful thing. We're not totally cold hearted... we realise a manly punch on the shoulder doesn't always quite cut it)

Welcome to the coven

JiltedJohnsJulie · 02/03/2011 08:44

Grin at coraltoes. No, that's obviously just you.
