Hi! I thought I'd better start a new thread now because it might get busy tomorrow morning and I don't want to lose you all Grin

I didn't know about the limit. I'm still completely humbled that I've had so many well-wishers Smile, so I feel a little self conscious. Although I think we've all been led down this path by the baby somewhat!

Am completely knackered tonight so will say goodnight and will endeavour to keep you posted on happenings tomorrow.

Thanks once again for keeping me company xxx

allyfe! Go back to bed!

cluelessnchaos · 12/02/2011 05:51

Southsea a wonderful midwife once told me that the first 5cm are so much harder than the last 5cm. Can't wait, it really has been an epic journey.

goingroundthebend4 · 12/02/2011 05:52

southsea if csection is needed so be it I had my dd by csection as she was early and could not tolerate the contractions and like yours she had no fluid around her either

and for me it was any way to be able to see my baby and to hold her ,She was very small and i admit was shocked ( well baby before i had was 10.3) .Think baby born size .Just go with it and do not feel upset if you need a section i was up and moving 12 hrs after and home in 3days .

We did spend some time in special care but she was fine and brought her home after 3 weeks shes now nearly 8 and a rea; tomboy

girlsyearapart · 12/02/2011 06:30

Allyfe I was going to post that you'd made a Big Mistake but you noticed anyway Wink

Well done so far southsea if you need a c section then so be it , it's not as if you have copped out of hospital time now is it ..?

barmbrack · 12/02/2011 06:40

Morning southsea

geordieminx · 12/02/2011 07:01

Having an e/cs was the best thingvabout my labour, not half as bad as I thought. Intact, I had ds at 1pm on the Friday, and felt so well I was in starbucks by Sunday afternoon.

God luck, you will be fine, and I'm sure by this. Time tomorrow you will have your baby, and the past 6 weeks will be a distant memory.

Wormshuffler · 12/02/2011 07:32

Hi Southsea you are doing brilliantly! I ended up with CS for both of mine after I got fully dilated (28 hours dd 12 hours DS) and they didnt come through the cervix.
if you do have a CS its not the end of the world....... but do take it really easy after, use the bed lift and keep on ringing that bell to get pebble passed to you and put back, in order for a speedier recovery.
xxxxxx

faverolles · 12/02/2011 07:33

I'm MNing first thing in the morning to see how you're getting on!

Just to add like geordie that a cs isn't as bad as everyone thinks.

Keep going! Will
Keep checking for updates. :)

systemsaddict · 12/02/2011 07:37

Good luck Southsea. Brings back memories of my first labour, the epidural was definitely the best bit!!

suwoo · 12/02/2011 07:38

I've been lurking but want to wish you good luck. C Sections are fine, look after yourself. Won't be long now x

kampakat · 12/02/2011 07:46

Hey southsea, sorry to hear you've been having a hard time while we've all been snoozing...
Today WILL be the day you meet Pebble Smile
Right - off to work now, hopefully there will lots of congratulations messages when I return!
Kkxx

pastababe · 12/02/2011 07:53

I had similiar experience with my first - induced and no gain, just pain - then epidural which baby did not like so ended in an emergency section which, looking back, was the right thing to do and an end to all the waiting and obviously, most importantly, baby was kept safe and perfect. Don't worry about it Southsea - the doctors have managed well up to now and will continue to do so. Thinking of you - actually first thing I did this morning!

jenga079 · 12/02/2011 07:56

You're doing brilliantly. We're all rooting for you.

Xxxx

galwaygal · 12/02/2011 08:05

Southsea - it has been a long night for you, I hope that you are getting some rest with the epidural and that rhw contrations slow enough so that pebble starts to less distressed, sorry that your feel scared, it is completely natural to feel that way at this stage, it is a big thing going through labour for the first time in your life.

You are doing really well, as the doctors told you premmie inductions can take a long time. Just keep telling yourself are doing really really well, and you can be proud of yourself.

Well done on getting so far, I really hope that you are getting some well earned rest with the epidural, and hope that if it becomes an Emergancy CS that you are reassured by other mums comments here, but I also still hope that you get your wish to avoid a CS!.

Flisspaps · 12/02/2011 08:09

Southsea, by dinnertime today Pebble will be here either way : ) Well done you! By the time you read this,(hopefully) you and Mr Southsearocks have had those precious snuggles with Pebblea.

queenofboak · 12/02/2011 08:10

Sorry you're having a rough time Southsea glad you have had magic epidural Smile

I ended up having an emergency c-sec, it's not so bad. Promise. Plus your fanjo stays nice and tight Grin

Sending good vibes

BoobyMcLeaky · 12/02/2011 08:23

Sorry things aren't going as you hoped SouthSea. I completely understand you being scared. I had DD by emcs and was frightened out of my mind before they eventually took me down and gave me the general (they couldn't site a spinal). Thery're not as scarey as they sound and I think my recovery from that was easier than some people who've had vaginal deliveries.

Good luck (again) xx

tadjennyp · 12/02/2011 08:26

Hope you are recovering nicely and pebble is doing really well!

Teaandcakeplease · 12/02/2011 08:27

Just checking in. Wish I could give you a squeeze lovely.

AtYourCervix · 12/02/2011 08:49

Don't be scared and sad Southsea. Look at what you have achieved over the last few months.

You have grown a whole new person from virtually nothing.

You've kept that person safe through the most difficult few weeks.

you are so close to meeting him/her and being his/her mum.

That's bloody amazing. How Pebble arrives doesn't matter as long as you are both safe and well and happy.

mrsws · 12/02/2011 08:54

Hi Southsea

Yet another long time lurker popping out to say good luck. Im currently in the lakes witing for my sister to give birth to a little boy.

They started her induction on Thursday morning and still no baby here either. She is diabetic so she too is being closly monitored, which she said although obv necessary, is a PITA as she just gets into a comfy/bearable position and they want her on her back again Hmm Might be a blessing in disguise being in America all they will offer her is paracetamol -think she would kill for sleeping tablet!

Dont be scared about posible c section - hopefully you wont need one but if you do they really are'nt that scarey Smile Both of mine were sections due to various problems and I was gutted that I had not been able to do it naturally. Then a good friend said to me 'You didnt get pregnant to have a perfect delivery. You got pregnant to have a baby - how it gets here doesnt matter as long as you are both alright'

Anyway I hope things have moved swiftly in the night and that you are holding little Southsea in your arms by now (or very soon)

xx

jasmine51 · 12/02/2011 09:01
