Hi! I thought I'd better start a new thread now because it might get busy tomorrow morning and I don't want to lose you all Grin

I didn't know about the limit. I'm still completely humbled that I've had so many well-wishers Smile, so I feel a little self conscious. Although I think we've all been led down this path by the baby somewhat!

Am completely knackered tonight so will say goodnight and will endeavour to keep you posted on happenings tomorrow.

Thanks once again for keeping me company xxx

propercrimbo · 12/02/2011 09:18

Southsea, thinking of you here, hope you are getting some rest and thats things are coming along, you are doing amazingly well... looking forward to the news Smile

duchesse · 12/02/2011 09:28

Southsea, you are doing brilliantly. And if baby Pebble has to come out through the sunroof please try not to worry as they are extremely good at doing them nowadays and are very calm and matter of fact about it. I was scared of them as well until I had one and now I just think that if I ever had another child I'd actually prefer another C section- this after three vaginal births. For me the recovery time was if anything quicker.

Hopefully it won't come to that but if it does I'm sure you will be fine. Thinking of you.

LizaTarbucksAuntie · 12/02/2011 09:31

Chin up lovely you're nearly there - I proposed to the lovely man who did my epidural and I had a emcs for much the same reasons as you. the thought of it was worse than the reality.

Thinking of you and pebble.

MmeLindt · 12/02/2011 09:49

(((hugs))) southsea.

I had epidural with first and straight to CS with second baby as he was not coping well with contractions. Sometimes it has to be done.

Don't be sad, you have done so well.

Thinking of you.

Sparklies · 12/02/2011 10:00

If Pebble does come out the sunroof, he/she will be joining mine in a long illustrious line of babies who tried to escape early, were made to stay in a while longer and in the meantime forgot how to find the exit :) Seriously, you would be amazed how many preterm births are c-sections!

The lady I know whose waters went at 26 weeks and she hung on until 33 weeks (baby was failing her NST thingies I think) had a c-section in the end too. Everyone is just fine as you might expect!

You most certainly would not have failed - modern medical science is in the business of saving babies that otherwise may not have been saved. Once you start getting complications, as gutting as it is, you usually have to wave goodbye to all the great natural plans and it's not an easy thing to come to terms with (I still haven't really) so I hear you.

Of course if things do go to plan with a more natural birth then YAY!! Added bonus!

Glad you're not in as much pain now anyway.. and I hope whatever happens you don't have to wait too much longer too!

Lavitabellissima · 12/02/2011 10:14

Thinking of you Southsea, I too had a C section and it was fab!

brambleschooks · 12/02/2011 10:18

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 12/02/2011 10:46

Southsea - sorry you've had such a long time of it - it's not suprising you are fed up of it and sad x One way or another Pebble will be here soon!! It really doesn't matter how s/he gets out!! Big Hugs - not long now xxx

Blacksand · 12/02/2011 10:55

Awww southsea - the hairy (trucker) godmothers are thinking of you Smile

mum2JRC · 12/02/2011 11:09

I was induced at 39 weeks with my first and ended with a C-Section. It was a relief to see him after a long induction process. Recovered smoothly. Wanted VBAC with my 2nd but once again did not progress. Did not hesitate about the C-section as was exhausted from being in labour.

Sending you lots of positive vibes Smile

TheNewStig · 12/02/2011 11:15

Hope you and Pebble are coping ok-ish and you and MrSouthsea get to meet your precious baby soon. Thinking of you.

CrispyTheCrisp · 12/02/2011 11:24

Well you have got further than I ever did in experiencing contractions! I have to say both my cs's were very positive experiences. I an sure if it comes to it, you will take that in your stride too Smile

Keep up that amazing strength and calm and I hope you can all have your first family cuddle together very soon. X

gruber · 12/02/2011 11:44

To cheer you up, it is a beautiful sunny morning in Southsea, birds are singing and I can hear the Cathedral bells ringing. Will try and remember to take a pic of the seafront later so you can show Pebble what Southsea was like on the day he/she was born.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 12/02/2011 11:46

((((big hugs))))
It'll all be fine. As long as pebble comes out, it doesn't really matter. Xxxx

DancingThroughLife · 12/02/2011 11:54

The important thing is that Pebble arrives safely - the how bit isn't.

You look after yourselves so you're ready to give him/her the welcome you all deserve.

Gruber - I have a little tear in my eye now from your post. I'm going to be a wreck later! Grin

Flisspaps · 12/02/2011 11:59

Gruber That's a really lovely thing to do :)
