Hi! I thought I'd better start a new thread now because it might get busy tomorrow morning and I don't want to lose you all Grin

I didn't know about the limit. I'm still completely humbled that I've had so many well-wishers Smile, so I feel a little self conscious. Although I think we've all been led down this path by the baby somewhat!

Am completely knackered tonight so will say goodnight and will endeavour to keep you posted on happenings tomorrow.

Thanks once again for keeping me company xxx

WickedWitchSouthWest · 11/02/2011 22:25

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 11/02/2011 22:54

I've just been out with my Mum for her birthday, and she's quite hoping it will be today too. No pressure Pebble, but my Mum would quite like to share her birthday with you.

Hope you're treating your Mummy well.

See you on the other side Southsea for a Brew

Grin
oopslateagain · 11/02/2011 23:45

Oooh haven't missed anything then! Our internet went down and I was panicking thinking I was going to miss all the action!

Wow Southsea you're amazing, updating MN inbetween contractions. Now that is true dedication to your fans fellow mumsnetters Grin

MrSouthsea - give Southsea lots of TLC, and ignore anything she might yell at you in the next few hours. She won't mean it. Much. Wink

sparkleshine · 11/02/2011 23:56

Got in from work hoping to see an update and yey for contractions and dilating..... great news, must be such a relief that things are moving at last (also for us)
Well that was hours ago so hope you have gone further..

Thankyou also for thinking about us all here on MN whilst you are in pain... we appreciate it Smile

Well done...you can do it Southsea. Willing your cervix to dilate.

galwaygal · 12/02/2011 00:11

OK it is now Saturday here, so that rules out most time guesses, but since Jacksmania (thank you JM) did so well with the updates I am not updating tonight!

Hopefully by tomorrow night we will know who's guess was closest with wieght and gender!

In the meantime hear is a Brew and Biscuit for Mr Southsea, and dilating thoughts for Southsea. I feel that Mr Southsea deserves a "no comment" Biscuit for his lack of update!!!!! Grin, just kidding, I am sure he is going a sterling job supporting our southsea.

Now: Come on pebble, time to come and face your aunties on mn.

cloudydays · 12/02/2011 00:25

oooooh how exciting!! Was away for a few days so didn't realise that Pebble's arrival was imminent!

Really hope it's all going well - can't wait to hear the news!

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 12/02/2011 01:14

Maybe we should have a 'meet up' when you are back home so we can all have a cuddle of our little Pebble!!

Southsearocks · 12/02/2011 03:34

Long day, long story. No baby yet!

Lots of pain and now on blissful epidural. Baby not tolerating contractions that well so possible c section but gonna see how it goes. I'm 4 cm dilated o some way to go.

Very scared right now [ sad]

Fingers and toes crossed for us x

BigBabyBoots · 12/02/2011 03:40

Don't be scared, you're doing great. 1000's of mumsnetter fingers and toes are crossed for you guys too Smile x

Jacksmania · 12/02/2011 04:19

Sweetie, if a C-section is what's best for Pebble, then that's what's best. They've taken wonderful care of you. No need to be :( or scared. You've come so far, they'll do whatever needs doing for your and Pebble's well-being.
Holding you very tightly in my thoughts. It will all be well. Much, much love, JM

Cadmum · 12/02/2011 04:21

4 cm is great! Hopefully the epidural will allow to relax while your cervix continues to efface and dilate.

You are doing a wonderful job. Being stressed and worried is perfectly normal during an induction especially with your first baby. This whole process is new to your body and it is much less slow and gentle than a natural labour.

You have been through so much in the last six weeks and all of this is taking place far from friends and family. Be kind to yourself. Being surrounded by medical staff and hooked up to monitors is probably not how you envisioned the birth of your baby. Under the circumstances, you are holding up very well!

If Pebble is unable to tolerate the contractions and the recommendation is a c-section, at least you will know that the doctors are doing what is best for him/her.

Thinking of you and hoping that the start of your parenting journey will begin soon so that you can put the hospital experience behind you.

Jacksmania · 12/02/2011 04:24

I don't know if you'll get a chance to see this, but - depending on how you feel - would it be worth asking if they couldn't just spare Pebble any further stress and do a section? I know I might get flamed for suggesting it (or you might really not like the idea of a section), but it seems to me you and the team have worked so hard to keep Pebble safe in there for 6 1/2 weeks, wouldn't it be best to just get him/her out of there safely rather than seeing how it goes?
(((((HUGS)))))

champs · 12/02/2011 04:26

Hopefully the epidural will give you and Baby a little rest and (s)he will take the contractions a little better. Hope you can have a little rest.

It's understandable that you'd be sad or scared and a whole lot of emotions, labour at any time is scary and with all the ups and downs you've had it's no wonder you're a little scared. I am glad you are being looked after so well b the staff. all the best xoxo

fridakahlo · 12/02/2011 04:31

Hope all is going well xxxx

allyfe · 12/02/2011 04:35

Horrah for epidurals :) I hope you have been able to relax a little. Pebble has been so happy staying put so far it is perhaps unsurprisingly s/he wants to stay put! You have been so brave through such a long process!!! But pebble is going to be with you really soon !!

Don't be sacred.4 cm is fantastic and however pebble joins you, it will be soon. If you have a c-section you will be in great company with 25% of mummies. ANd I've been told recovery isn't anywhere near as long as you might think, and it doesn't have ve interfere with new mummyhood at all.

You must both be feeling so emotionally worn out. Lots of hugs and love from Mr southsea and pebble will be with you in no time.

Jacksmania · 12/02/2011 04:40

I love Chipping's idea of a meet-up for all of you who live near (or are willing to travel to) Southsea. :)

allyfe · 12/02/2011 04:44

Is southsea big enough to accommdate hundred of netmummers?! The place would be overrun ;)

allyfe · 12/02/2011 05:00

Oh my!! Was just going to add, I wasn't saying it isn't a lovely idea! I was just amused at the idea of an invasion, and I realised I put netmummers instead of mumsnetters!!
