Am nearly 39 weeks, and I've had enough!!
Back is killing me, I can't sleep, I keep hoping that the practice contractions are real and they aren't. I feel sick. I've got NO patience with DH or DCs. Keep apologising for being vile to them. I hate this waiting bit, and not knowing how much longer this will carry on. sorry to vent but arrrggghh!

Well done bear thats great news. Many congratulations on your new arrival!

No good such luck here.

I've now been in stinking 'pre-labour' for almost a week. Every night regular contrations, bad, but not bad enough IYKWIM. But have had to get family members round just in case. Hospital Thurs night, all starting to happen, then ground to a halt. Got fed up and missing other dc's and family members had to leave by Fri pm, so back home. Another bad night, full two hours of regular contractions, but this morning . . .nothing! Back killing me. Midwife won't even come and examine, let alone sweep until tomorrow because the policy is they won't examine unless in established labour until 48 hours since last one. Don't know if can keep going like this. I'm going to be knackered before going into established labour. Phoned for reflexology, but she has flu!
They won't induce until ten days over, so could be another week. Sad

xxxx

StrangewaysHereICome · 19/02/2011 22:15

Yay congrats Robino am so Grin for you and Mr Robino. Take care and I hope you get some sleep and feel more human soon.

I am still here and still pg Confused. Mw came today and baby is less engaged than last week Hmm. Might be a few more days yet....(will not be weeks, will not be weeks!!)

Good luck to everyone else on this thread, this waiting is the pits! 39 weeks tomorrow and have been niggling for nearly two weeks ....

yawningbear · 20/02/2011 06:21

Big congratulations Robino, really hope you managed to get some much needed kip and are enjoying not being pregnant anymore! Hope to hear some more good news soon from everyone else, tis really miserable waiting and being so uncomfortable. Good luck!

BPrincess · 20/02/2011 21:40

mandy1978 · 20/02/2011 23:02

xx

ThatllDoPig · 21/02/2011 10:38

No news here either. Still having contractions, but not regular or painful enough.

5 days over now.

Booked in to be induced Friday morning if nothing happens naturally before then. Poor dd (11) having very dossy half term, everything in limbo.
Come on babies!!

StrangewaysHereICome · 21/02/2011 12:20

Not a bean here either (hope you don't mind me joining in!) A bad night of cramps and BH's and once again as day breaks, it all stops.

Not due til Sunday but am soooo impatient with all these niggles teasing me! A lazy half term here too for DD's (5 and 4) but so far so good, they are being really well behaved!

robino · 21/02/2011 17:31

Pig - as you asked, it's lovely not being pregnant Grin and having a new small one to cuddle Grin Grin.

Waters broke at 9pm Friday night and contractions started 15 mins later, went to hospital almost straight away as contractions coming every 3 minutes and felt very shaky. Spent an hour on the triage unit being monitored and then allowed up to the labour ward. DD3 born at 1.36am with cord wrapped round neck twice.... All fine though, wee bit of oxygen and then straight to us for cuddles. 7lb, 10 oz. Home by lunchtime on Sat.

It's lovely - you'll all get there in the end! Hope you're feeling well, if frustrated. Good luck

alimamma · 21/02/2011 17:45

sorry to butt in... but 9 days o/d and going mad!! Lost the plug properly today and hoping hoping hoping for some contractions to get things moving... induction programmed for thurs and really don't fancy that... 1st baby and hoping for birth centre... good luck to everyone else....

am also really annoyed by emails from other sites saying 'your baby is now one week old'...etc. grrrrr!! (hormones raging!!!)

phew.... that feels better...

ThatllDoPig · 21/02/2011 18:18

Aw robino sounds like a great birth. Well done to you, hope the healing is well underway and sounds like you are really enjoying your baby and having your body back. Congratulations again!
Did your waters break spontaniously, or did you do anything to get things going? - sorry, still fishing for ideas!
I've just eaten that american eggplant recipe thing that is meant to get things going within 48 hours. (google it girls - it's quite nice!) And i've had a glass of wine too, and it's not even six o'clock. Anything that helps my state of mind at the moment!

Welcome strangeways and alimamma good to know we aren't alone in this tortuous wait, and that soon it will all be over and we too will have our bundles.

Pig I had reflexology on the Thursday at 2pm and had a show within 4 hrs. Then at sweep on Fri she said she couldn't believe I wasn't already in labour.

Waters broke as I got up from my gym ball...

Draw your own conclusions. I suspect reflexology helped, even if it was only because I relaxed completely for the first time in weeks

alimamma · 23/02/2011 01:18

Thank you ThatllDoPig :) am now 11 days over...just had a curry...but getting worried now as in theory should be induced on thursday:-( Any news from you? has the little one decided to make his/her entrance yet?

Am going to go for a BIG walk tomorrow and climb up and down stairs... have tried everything...including 3 sweeps now!

Am so looking forward to not being pregnant anymore and can't wait to meet my son.

fingers crossed...maybe the action will al begin soon!

ThatllDoPig · 23/02/2011 12:15

Nothing happening here. Aubergine recipe, reflexology, curry, cosmic ordering and visualisation haven't worked.Sad Mr Pig very selfish with his prostaglandins. But I don't blame him really as I am in lot of pain with back and belly.
On countdown of hours now till induction on Friday morning. Bit scared as I was so hoping for water birth like last two.
How little we humans can control.

OP posts:
alimamma · 24/02/2011 01:13

Me neither... now into +12 and due for induction tomorrow morning which am thinking of declining and asking for the chance to hold out at least 24 hours more (had 4th sweep today).

Try not to worry... you are only a week over... so that's not so bad!! ...although if you are in a lot of pain I suppose no amount of positive spin on the numbers helps. How lovely that you had two water births. I was hoping for that..but we'll see what my little human project has up his sleeve...

good luck...the end (and the beginning!) is nearly in sight! Smile

ThatllDoPig · 27/02/2011 21:54

DS2 is finally here!
Just to let anyone know who is still hanging in there. All went ok after hanging about for a while with the prosaglandin gel. When the contractions finally kicked in properly it was all over in two hours. Nine pounds seven and lots of hair!
Really happy but tired!
Good luck to everyone else on this thread with your bundles, and thank you so much for the company and the support!xxxx

Yay Pig! That is awesome, well done, what a relief that must be - hope you get some well deserved rest now, albeit in very small chunks at a time and enjoy your gorgeous wee boy, I always think they look even more fabulous with lots of lovely hair Smile.

StrangewaysHereICome · 28/02/2011 10:57

Woohoo Pig that has cheered me up Grin. Sounds like a great experience in the end. Ooooh your DS sounds gorgeous, enjoy all the snuggles.

You have reminded me that this waiting will not last forever, at some point a baby will come out of me one way or another!! One day over now, and I have never been overdue before . On the plus side DH is being an absolute star Smile.

Take care all xx

robino · 28/02/2011 13:52
