I'm feeling unusual - I missed AF so did a test and got BFP. I'm reading on many threads how people took 6 tests etc to make sure.

If one gives a bfp, why do more?

Loads.
I'd been trying for so long I couldn't believe it. Wanted to keep checking. My head knows that this is not sensible or cost-efficient, but my heart needed to be sure (plus it was nice to see the lines getting dark until DH could see them too).

Sierra19 · 28/01/2011 00:38

Probably about 40. Tested regularly between 3 and 10 weeks just to make sure. This is not a joke.

MamaChocolat · 28/01/2011 00:48

None, I knew anwyay but did some joke 'waht sort of a mother will you be' ones of the interent.

Penelope1980 · 28/01/2011 06:51

I did about 4 as had some crazy stomach pain and wanted to know if I was still pregnant

BigBabyBoots · 28/01/2011 07:47

I did 3. The first 2 because they were a cheap shops own brand. I had to do both that came in the box to make sure they worked properly (just couldn't quite believe it!) then my mum bought a Clear Blue to try out the new fangled technology so I obliged her Grin.

JeelyPiece · 28/01/2011 07:54

I did a few because I liked seeing the line getting faster to come up and darker each time! But they were just the cheap strips off Amazon. I still have loads left and I think they will be out of date before I could possiby need them again.

snowangels1 · 28/01/2011 08:10

maybe I'm the only one but I only ever did one Hmm

Jojo1983 · 28/01/2011 08:30

I have only done one, the little pink lines were dark and strong so good enough for me.

Wishinandahopin · 28/01/2011 11:45

Did one this morning negative! AF due Monday. Could it turn to a positive later? Please give me hope! Experience much appreciated! Sounds x rated now!

Leilababyno1 · 28/01/2011 12:00

I did 2...1st was a shock, wow reactionGrin and second to confirm pregnancy before I booked a doctor's appointment.Smile

Tarlia · 28/01/2011 12:10

I did 2. One two days after AF due, another two days later as we wanted to be sure. The second one responded sooooo much faster and stronger.

GP doesn't test here.

caramelcoffeelover · 28/01/2011 12:24

I am in SnowAngel and Jojo camp I am afraid, only one, loud and clear for me!

JBrd · 28/01/2011 12:35

I did 2 - one digital, one with the line, from completely different manufacturers. Wanted to be extra-sure it wasn't a flse positive.

I'm a scientist, can you tell? Grin

Debs3013 · 28/01/2011 12:42

I'm also in the one camp - came up with a good strong positive a day or two after I was due on and frankly, with +ve and no period it seemed pretty clear to me.

theonlyhb2 · 28/01/2011 12:42

I did 2, as there were 2 in the pack! digital ones. did one at work then went straight home and did another one an hour & half later.

I asked the Dr to double check it, the nurse, the midwife and they all said "you did 2, its right, it said pregnant!"

I dont think I will quite believe it til my first scan next week, even though i had some of the worst every symptoms

wigglesrock · 28/01/2011 12:42

I did 2, only because they came in 2 packs, I use Tesco/Asda cheapo ones, no confusion with weeks etc. I have only ever tested when I've been 5-6 days late, and have had to run around getting tests, I don't keep them in the house. GP doesn't test here either. Doesn't seem that we were testing 8 months ago!!!!

Cyclebump · 28/01/2011 12:44

I did two. One that confirmed what DP had suspected (I was clearly on another planet) and the second was a digital one as I have a bizarre reproductive system and we had no idea when it had happened. Found out I was pg in July, hadn't had a period since Feb.

Wishinandahopin · 28/01/2011 12:56

Did you girls do them before or after AF was due? And did you have symptoms beforehand?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 28/01/2011 13:02

I have done 16 - No joke. Still don't believe it!

Cyclebump · 28/01/2011 13:09

Clearly mine was waaaaay after AF was due. I was blind to my symptoms but looking back they were definitely there. Exhaustion, craving weird things, intermittent nausea and really sore boobs. My DP sat me down and said he thought I was pregnant so I tested.

DuelingFanjo · 28/01/2011 13:11

I did one 16 daysafter ivf, then a digital one a week later which scared me shitless so I didn't do any more. I know some crazies who have done them daily and posted them on their facebook! nuts!

Tarlia · 28/01/2011 13:13

wishing I felt sick for a week before AF due. It's unlikely your test will show positive before AF due, unless it's a fast response (I think!?) one, as the hormone levels will be low. Same as testing just after due, line may not be as dark as say testing first thing in the morning a week after AF was due.

feels a bit surreal, doesn't it.

Mum2Pea · 28/01/2011 14:57

only did one each time too .......

Wishinandahopin - i did them a day or 2 before AF was due

dribbleface · 28/01/2011 15:02

erm Blush 7 to date. With DS1 did 5 to start with and one day before scan at 13 weeks! In my defence this time lines were faint to start with, although today i did a digital one just for the hell off it! Blush. Dear god i'm obssessed!

thefurryone · 28/01/2011 15:28

I did 2, I would have only done one but I was in quite a bit of shock and couldn't work out when I could have possibly conceived so got a CBD to give me a clue about how far gone I was.

I do find it a bit weird that people continually test and I honestly don't see the point in testing before your period is due, but heyho different strokes for different folks.
