how many tests did you do?

I'm feeling unusual - I missed AF so did a test and got BFP. I'm reading on many threads how people took 6 tests etc to make sure.

If one gives a bfp, why do more?

I did one every day until about 7 weeks, couldn't believe it had actually happened after 18 months trying and needed the reassurance after a mmc years ago. Then the midwife told me to stop peeing on sticks!

Just the one.

It was positive, so that was enough!

But girls... The key question is: WHEN did you test? How many dpo?

have 2 dc, did 1 test for each, although I already knew I was pregnant from very early because of a whole bunch of symptons, it was very obvious and so doing the test wasn't remotely exciting.

I tested from day 28 in cycle.
I found that I was getting pregnant, but losing the pregnancy between weeks 5 and 7.
I tested, because I needed to know (for my own peace of mind) if my period was late because my cycle was erratic, or if I was having some form of early miscarriage. The doctors would only treat me if I could prove I had had several miscarriages.

When you've been trying to have babies almost conintually for 7 years, when you actually get a BPF you need all the reassurance you can get - because that's where the rollercoaster of doubt and fear really starts.

I did 1 with DD, 2 with DS as first line was a bit faint. 2 with this one as control line took a while and other line very faint.

I did digital with DD so there was no doubt, the line ones are too complicated or rely too much on my rational interpretation. I much prefer the PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT no doubt then.

Should say with the 3 BFP I had only tested when late not on the day or before.

I did 1 the first time but lost the baby at 9 weeks. For the 2nd, I did 3, mainly because I couldn't believe it. Though I first tested a week before I was due and wasn't convinced that the cheapo test was correct. Anyway, I had 3 in the bathroom so why not use them all up!

Blush I did 4 tests. All positive, I just couldn't believe we had conceived in our second month of trying (1 menstrual cycle since having contraceptive implant removed)

I also got my first positive on a cheap tesco one that came in a pack of 2. I was convinced it was a dodgy batch so I went out and bought the expensive clear blue digital (that also come in a pack of 2), the woman at the checkout looked at me funny and said "You know the cheap ones are just as reliable" but I wanted that one! Tested as soon as I got to work and then again the next day just to make sure I hadn't imagined it all. Grin

Oh, and I did my test when I was late I think. But since I'd only had one menstrual cycle since having the implant removed (hadn't had any for over a year before) I didn't really know how long my cycle was. I tested on day 30 and got the BFP.
