Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

does anyone else find their symptoms come and go? I have days where I feel really sick (although haven't actually been sick) and exhausted and incredibly sore boobs (which have INFLATED! I've had to buy bigger bras twice already and am only 7+2) and then other days, like today, I feel relatively normal and kind of forget and then panic that that's a really bad sign. It's totally crazy that I actually feel mentally better about everything when I feel really ill Confused

Although as DH points out the days when I think I have no symptoms are usually also the days when I'm most hormonal and cry for no reason - like yesterday when I cried because "my boobs don't look like mine anymore"...Blush. Am generally feeling a bit mad

smileymum2b · 21/02/2011 20:28

I'm totally with you knittymum I can't wait for 13 weeks and feeling relatively secure!

mpops · 21/02/2011 20:31

Good luck tomorrow, monkeybubbles. I really hope it's not as serious as they thought. I'd say tell your boss the truth if you think they'll be understanding. You might need to take more time off and it'd be even harder to explain then. My thoughts are with you. x

daimbardiva · 21/02/2011 20:50

knittymum you've absolutely described how I feel - and I'm almost 9 weeks. It really feels like the weeks are just dragging by. i realise I'm being unreasonable, as I've even had an early scan, but I don't want to jinx things by telling people too early...but am also stressing as am starting to show, and can't hide it much longer!

daimbardiva · 21/02/2011 20:52

smiley I also find that my symptoms come and go - as do the hormones. Definitely a hormonal rather than nauseous day today...crying over stresses at work, and stressing about pregnancy, and finding it difficult to separate which I'm crying about!!!!!

freelancegirl · 21/02/2011 20:55

Fluter, glad you can empathise. I am bored shitless to be honest and the thought of what happens when I have a baby to take care of AND try to work from home is a bit scary! I guess people cope. It's great to see everyone on here, also due in October. I think that's one of the main reasons I aim to go to NCT classes - just to meet other people going through the same thing. It's these early days when your friends don't all know that makes us feel more isolated am sure.

freelancegirl · 21/02/2011 20:56

PS smileymum2b, I know exactly what you mean! The times when I am feeling sick and tired I feel awful, and then when I notice I am feeling ok I worry that there's something wrong!!

elgoldenflower · 21/02/2011 21:46

tummytickler and lovemybabyboy our due dates are the same :)

My first pg, sooo nervous and excited! Very overwhelming.

lovemybabyboy · 21/02/2011 23:36

Oohhh daimbardiva I might try ask to see if I can get an early scan, my last baby died at around 8 weeks (found out at 13wk scan) so I think I might try to get a scan around 8 to 9 weeks if possible.

elgoldenflower really? thats great I wonder if anyone else will join our little due date club, he he he! Grin
We can compare notes! Wink

Smiley I thought it was just me some days my boobs feel less sore and I start freaking out thinking something is wrong, then wake up next morning and they are extremeley sore again! Hmm

Best of luck for tomorrow monkeybubbles and please let us know how you get on. ((hugs))

cc1983 · 22/02/2011 08:16

thanks apples by the way the milk thing happened to me too, tasted metallic and awful! :) congratulations to all the other October ladies! Sad news for some too:( having been there i know its horrible. I stayed in bed for three dayS reading trash through watery eyes then decorated the lounge. Hope all goes well today Monkeybubbles, best wishes going your way:)

apologies if this makes no sense. I'm shattered having had the worst nights sleep ever. 3 toilet trips nausea at bedtime and 5hrs of sleep max. Also, anyone else got sore nipples but happy boobs? I guess its the equivalent of my boobs having a headache. Booking apt tomorrow.. Must be assertive and ask for early scan! Good luck to all!

drivencrazy · 22/02/2011 08:20

AArg has anyone else completely gone off anything to eat or drink yet? Im 5+4 and nipper has decided it doesnt want me drinking coffee. I've managed to have a mug or so a day instead of a few like normal as it didnt want me having much just made myselt my morning one and i just couldnt drink it. It tasted foul :(

Jojoba1986 · 22/02/2011 08:26

I want to join the bus! I'm due Oct 16th so only 6 weeks along. I seem to have a different symptom every day, other than period pain type cramping which seems to be a constant dull ache! Wish someone had told me about that, I was looking forward to not having period pains!! Other than that, I had super-sniffing abilities even before my missed period but that seems to have calmed down now, my breasts hurt for a few days last week, the nausea seems to be sneaking up on me over the last few days & then yesterday I was ridiculously over-emotional & kept screaming at DH for absolutely no reason & then bursting into tears!! Oh, & as if all of that wasn't enough, I used to be able to sleep forever if there were no alarms but suddenly I'm waking up after 5 hours of crazy-dream-filled sleep feeling more tired than when I went to bed!
I hate that no medical professionals seem in the least bit interested in me yet! Can't wait for my booking appointment!
Sorry for the rant but I've only told a few people & can't really even talk to them because there always seems to be someone else around! I hate lying to people but since my mum had a MC with her first pregnancy I'm really paranoid the same thing will happen to me!
Anyway, I've be awake for over 2 hours now so I'm pretty sure it's time for a nap!! lol!!

apples82 · 22/02/2011 08:57

Today is not a good day.

Woke with awful nausea, and then when I finally managed to get into the car to get to work, I cracked my head on the door frame and burst out crying.

I hope my day gets better Sad

daimbardiva · 22/02/2011 09:40

I have just started my day by feeling really sick, and then bursting into tears at "Sunshine on Leith" by the The Proclaimers on the radio!

Oh dear.

Crawling · 22/02/2011 09:50

I was upset last night for the first night in weeks no stomach cramps, no sickness,I felt good tired but well, until I got a migraine Angry it seems I am destined to feel ill every night till 12 weeks.

freelancegirl · 22/02/2011 10:01

Jojoba1986 I feel the same as you, it's so isolating not being able to tell anyone! It's going to slowly, I will 8 weeks today and don't have scan until 21st March. I cry at the drop of a hat and feel very very queasy and then when I don't have any symptoms I feel really worried! I just want to get to the next stage where it's a lot safer, I am 'showing' rather than worrying that everyone just thinks am putting on weight (have put on about 5lbs) and can finally talk to my friends about it.

apples82 · 22/02/2011 10:06

freelancegirl I am exactly the same as you- feel rubbish most of the time, and if I am lucky enough to start feeling ok, then I worry that something is wrong!

tummytickler · 22/02/2011 10:46

oh freelance I cannot wait to get to 13 weeks and get my scan so I know all is fine. I am only 4+6 - time is really, really dragging. It would be good if the cramps stopped as well, I guess I wont relax until October!

elgoldenflower · 22/02/2011 11:12

Hey all,

Don't forget to add yourself to our stats thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1139962-October-2011-The-Stats?msgid=23959389#23959389

This bus is getting lovely and big! Hope everyone's having a good day! Got my full 8 hrs last night (with some gaps in the middle) so feeling good today Grin

snowpeas · 22/02/2011 11:24

wow the bus is getting really full now Smile

Not been well at all end of last week, DS2 kindly shared a bug he picked up at school and while he was back up and bouncing around the house after a couple of days I have been feeling dreadful, starting to feel better now but have a lingering headache and haven't had much sleep.

Had my first appointment with the Midwife last Wednesday, only took about 10 mins, she gave me a pile of leaflets to read and she is coming to the house at 12.30pm today to do the full booking in.

Congratulations to all the newbies, haven't had time to catch up with all the posts but will have a cup of tea later and read all that's been going on.

Grin
LittlePebble · 22/02/2011 12:04

Hello, can I join the bus too?

It's my first pg (at 34) and it all came about a bit quicker than we thought (only 3 months since coming off the pill)

We were planning to get married in October but think that will have to wait now.

EDD is 9th October...feeling slightly panicked that I have no idea what I am doing. Walked into Mothercare to get a sleep bra the other day and panicked that I might jinx everything by being in there.
Confused
Still trying to get a handle on these crazy hormones....

apples82 · 22/02/2011 12:06

LittlePebble I pretty much did the same thing.
My EDD is 17th Oct and I succumb and bought some crop tops to wear at home in bed, and suddenly thought I might be jinxing.

Reality is boobs ache, so need them! Smile

mpops · 22/02/2011 12:09

The M&S crop top is the only pg-related thing I've succumbed to as well (well, apart from cheese on toast by the dozen!). I just couldn't get any sleep while my boobs were hurting.

apples82 · 22/02/2011 12:16

Cheese on toast is soooo true!!!

LittlePebble · 22/02/2011 12:18

I don't have small boobs to start with - was already a DD cup and they are growing so quickly they need all the support they can get! :-)
