Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Okay I am mortified to ask this and it is probably way TMI, but is anyone else experiencing this? As soon as I take a mouthful of food my stomach starts cramping by the time I have had three mouthfuls I have to run to the toilet, where I seem to have green watery poo Blush. Am I the only one?

Crawling · 11/02/2011 19:51

Snowpeas my dog is also being a bit neglected too Sad but eau de dog is possibly the worst thing for my morning sickness Grin

lovemysleep · 11/02/2011 21:18

eager was the same for me too - didn't believe it would happen so quickly - especially as I am 39!

Wave to everyone else......can't tear myself away from my box of chocolate toffee Grin

sunface · 11/02/2011 21:30

Evening! Crawling I had v v runny poo 2 days running this week! Maybe its the hormones?! Also v worried about getting huge too soon as can't stop eating! Have skinny jeans on today and my belly looks huge as do my boobs!

Towanmummies · 11/02/2011 21:39

hi girlies
(runs through thread briefly)
had my dc LAST Oct, can't believe it went so quickly... he's now a bouncing smiling cheeky baby....sleeping upstairs in his own room!

just nipped in to say good luck to everyone Grin xxx

mpops · 11/02/2011 23:00

Aw! Lovely! Grin

I feel incredibly bloated and boobied and absent- minded and I keep crying. And now I bumped into a labour thread on here and nearly fainted with terror. N00b here is very scared of giving birth, all being well. Blush

Linda40 · 12/02/2011 00:10

Well, went circuit training earlier but running and jogging was completely out of the question! Had on two sports bras but the boobs were too sore! And, Ive put on 4lb in one week!!! Arrrggghhhh! lol

Iwish Im also 6 weeks today. My EDD is 9th October, r u the same?

With regards to telling people, Ive told quite a few people, Im too excited. But still not telling my 2 DDs yet. Roll on next friday when I have my scan :)

Nettlerash · 12/02/2011 07:29

Crawling · 12/02/2011 09:08

Towanmummies Smile

Hope everyone is feeling good today Smile

starsandplanets11 · 12/02/2011 09:46

Linda - I'm 6 weeks tomorrow, EDD 10th October

mpops - Here's someone in same boat...er bus about reading labour threads and feeling scared. Maybe watch a video of hypnobirthing, that looks really reassuring and doable.

Towanmummies - thanks! here's to all October babies :)

DH and I told our respective parents yesterday. It would be their first grandchild.

Apart from sore breast I feel completely normal today. Hope I can get some work done as it was really hard to concentrate on anything last week.

eagerbeagle · 12/02/2011 11:20

Hi nettle - I think my EDD is 20 October too. I haven't had it confirmed though. Seems really far away but also not IYSWIM.

Have you any DC already?

Iwish · 12/02/2011 14:18

Thanks ladies. I have told my mum and dad and my best friend, it's amazing how hard it is not to announce it to the world.
One of the girls at work is leaving in a fee weeks so they have booked a meal and a night out - hmmm how to get out of drinking...

Linda I've been given a date of 7th October by my midwife. Eek so excited I will be a mummy :)

Still feeling quite sick, anyone any ideas to get rid of it?

xx

snowpeas · 12/02/2011 15:11

Iwish do you like ginger biscuits? I bought a packet of stem ginger biscuits from Sainsburys this morning and they have really helped to ease the queasy feelings.

mpops & starsandplanets step away from the labour threads and have some virtual wine to steady those nerves Wine

Seriously though please try not to worry too much, I'm on #3 and the best advise I can give is to be prepared but keep an open mind. With my DS1 I terrified myself by reading lots of scary birth stories which then meant I went into the birth with very fixed ideas about how it would go, I had a super detailed birth plan detailing exactly how I would acheive a 'perfect' birth and avoid any 'awful stuff' but all it did was stress me out and not surprisingly when things didn't go quite to plan I felt out of control.

With DS2 I went into it with a far more open mind, my birth plan consisted of about 3 brief sentences and that was it, the other thing I did was to consider what might happen and what I would want in each possible situation and discuss it all with my DH so he could speak up for me if I wasn't able to speak up for myself, DS2's birth was very different to DS1's mainly because I felt more in control and I wasn't putting pressure on myself to acheive that 'perfect' birth and also I wasn't stressing out about all the 'what if's'

Hope that makes sense Confused If there's anything that's worrying you just ask, I'm sure someone will be able to help and don't forget that at the end you will have the most wonderful little baby, makes it all worthwhile and hence why I'm on #3 Smile

Cursingtheboobytum · 12/02/2011 16:10

So I woke up this morning and have had some spotting. Pinky-brown stuff. Not a lot but enough to make me worry. Keeping an eye on it today and it seems to have stopped now. I still feel as sick as a dog so I'm hoping it was just implantation bleeding, or underlying period hormones. Completely cocked up our weekend plans as we were planning on a day out. Instead we've stayed close to home and mooched. Keep your fingers crossed for me girls x

mpops · 12/02/2011 17:17

Fingers and toes crossed for you, Cursingtheboobytum. Let us know how you get on. x

snowpeas, thanks for the advice! I guess pretty much everything worries me right now, and thinking of the birth is just another terrifying thing I have to think about to freak myself out. I can't quite get my head around anything!

Nettlerash · 12/02/2011 19:10

Thtas great Eager, I have one DD who will be exactly 2 years when this comes. She was also born in October! :) Have you? x

Congrats everyone else. Fingers crossed cursing!

lovemysleep · 12/02/2011 19:13

cursing fingers crossed for you - hope everythings ok x

Tamashii · 12/02/2011 19:51

Fingers crossed for you cursing you were probably better off mooching around rather than doing anything strenuous if you were worried. Hope it's nothing.

This will hopefully be my DC2 and I can remember being terrified of giving birth, totally avoiding that section of my pregnancy books/online until I was over a week overdue and just wanted it to happen! I think by the time you reach full term you try anything to get things going because you just want to see your LO.

Try not to read too much birth related stuff because it's totally true that everyone has a totally different experience of giving birth and if you try to stay calm it really does seem to help. I remember getting to the labour ward and the MW helping me up the corridor n I was about to lose it saying "I don't think I can do this" and she kind of snapped at me "Keep calm, don't you panic! You've done great this far and you are here now so just stay in control and do. Not. Panic" She was a no nonsense but really amazing lady and the way she seemed so confident in what she was saying sort of talked me round a bit.

Anyway, sorry to go on about that side of things when we are only early days just now.

On the "morning" sickness side of things, I have found sipping ginger ale and ice kind of tones it down a bit. That and a wee glass of cola but not sure about the caffeine issues there... Am I meant to be avoiding cola all together?

Pregnantabroad · 12/02/2011 20:30

Hello! I'm due on 4th Otober and 'morning' sickness kicked in 2 days ago. It's our first so it's going to be a big change for the 2 of us. Im excited to be able to chat with other women in the same pregnancy boat :)

Nettlerash · 12/02/2011 20:42

Congrats pregnant! Hope it goes well for you. Morning sickness is a good sign remember! I was very lucky last time and didnt have any at all. Felt a bit queezy this morning though. :(

I agree with Tam. Dont read up too much of actually giving birth. It is so different for everyone and no one can predict it for you. I had quite a long labour as DD was upside down so I had an epidural which in my case was fantastic. You won't be alone and when it gets to the time you will just want the little mite out of there no matter what! :)

Linda40 · 12/02/2011 21:11

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying the weekend.

starsandplanets and Iwish we are due around the same time then, i suppose they will come when they are ready :)

cursingtheboobytum Im keeping everything crossed for you.

nettlerash My eldest DD was an October baby too. My younget DD is 4 days before me in May. Im keeping things symetrical, lol

A big welcome to pregnantabroad. I hope you are pregnant abroad somewhere with good medical care!

I agree about not reading up on labour. My best advice is 'go with the flow'. With my first I was in labour 2hrs 50mins (after being induced) and used just gas and air. With number two I was in labour for 50mins, using just gas and air again.

I know they say that each one gets quicker but I hope this one gives me chance to get to the delivery room!!! Grin

Engelsemeisje · 12/02/2011 21:59

Can I join in? Am 5 weeks but keeping fingers crossed as had a MC in December. Been TTC for 20 months. Am hoping that this one sticks.
We're not telling anyone until we're a bit further along (though, having said that, my best friend knows as she's the one I'm going to be phoning if it all goes wrong again!).

monkeybubbles · 12/02/2011 22:13

hello to all the new people :)

quick question, been having crazy eye flickering spasms and bottom lip spasms as well...is this normal or completely unrelated?

Nettlerash · 12/02/2011 22:52

I don't think its related to pregnancy. But I might be wrong monkey. I would get it checked out. :)

EdwardorEricCantdecide · 13/02/2011 07:47

Morning all
Hope every1 is feeling good today.
I went to bed early last night and feeling great for it
