anyone help?

my af is 16 days late. i have done tests and been -ve. i did a test this morning with first wee and got a very faint line. but then i did another 4 hours later but no line at all. has anyone had this before and been pregnant? should i test again tomorrow with first wee? TIA

Oh gosh how confusing Did you read the results within the recommended time frame?? It could have been an evaporation line. Hell yes i'd test again tomorrow, tbh after 16 days i would be testing hourly but i'm an impatient sort of gal . Good luck and keep us posted we love are you aren't you posts

thanks sam26oscar confusing i know. the line came up after 7 or 8 minutes. i hate the waiting i just want either af or a +ve so i just know where i am.

when i was about a week late i took a test which read a faint line so waas'nt sure if a was pg or not. I then took another test few hrs later and it was neg. Few days after that test i did another one and it read a strong line, so keep checking as some tests can be faulty at times. You could send your urine sample to your gp and ask them to test it for you aswell xx

I would say test tomorrow morning. I however, like sam would be testing on the hour!

hi sam26oscar i did another test this morning and got another very faint line. i showed it to dp and he said he could see a line. i dont want to get my hopes up too much just in case. im going to test again in a couple of days maybe (probably tomorrow )
i dont think i will trust the result unless it is a proper dark line.

zhuHhuhell you could try a Clear Blue Digital? I got a negative with the usual strip, but a positive with digital.

I kinda like them personally as there's no doubt as to whether there's a line or not. Quite expensive, though - there's an offer on Amazon I think but that doesn't help you right away!

ZhuZhuhell I would probably go for a BFP!! As they say any line is a positive no matter how faint, especially if it comes up within the time span. However i do understand wanting to see a strong line there hey ho will look in on you tomorrow

I did loads of tests as it kept coming up very faintly. if you have another faint one, buy a dearer test, thats what I did and it came up properly, cos I had bulk bought cheaper ones lol.

Cheap ones are fine. They're just fainter when you're early on and hcg concentration is higher in a morning as you haven't weed all night.

I don't think you need to spend money on something expensive. Give it a few days. At the moment you're producing hcg, which means you are pregnant. In a few days time if the pregnancy is progressing, the line will appear faster and look darker.

thanks sam26oscar im kind of hopefully thinking BFP too but also scared its not
thanks HostOfPhantomListeners i will be using the cheaper ones.
i have been feeling really sick yesterday and today but who knows if that is a symptom of a pregnancy or not. will test again soon and report back.thanks again

god i am so confussed. i did a test last night and it was still faint but slightly darker. i did another one at about 2 this morning again faint but slightly darker. i felt really sick through the night and this morning.
then this morning i bought a tesco test but no line at all (wasnt first wee) with the same wee i used a strip test it was very faint. fainter than the ones in the night.
what is going on? i just dont know what to think.

The darkness of the line will vary from test to test, and also with the concentration of your urine. A line is a line, so I say congratulations are in order. If you want to really test if your hormone levels are rising, buy multiples of the same test and do the test with your first morning urine. The line should get darker from day to day. hi sam26oscar thanks for asking. i did a test in the early hours of the morning and again very faint line. i did another at about 10.30 this morning and got an even fainter line so still not sure.
im going to test again in the morning with first wee and see what happens. im thinking of maybe going to the doctors next week if i dont get a definate result soon. im still feeling sick,really tired and no af.

Go to your gp and get him/her to test. I know digital ones cost more but you'd only need one rather than lots of cheap ones. Is this 1st pg?

I know how you feel ZhuZhuhell I'm pretty much pretty much went through the same thing. I got a -ve with Clear Blue digital on Thursday, but a faint line with anothers. The tests I took this morning all had a faint but very visible line, so I'm taking it as a +ve. Did you have a stronger test today?

Sorry just to clarify, I didn't mean the really expensive ones, just more the say tesco own for about £4/£5.

I have used masses of the cheaper ones, and by cheaper ones I am talking about the £9.99 for a hundred type lol.

I tested 4 times with Tesco's tests when my period was 3-10 days late. All the tests were either no visible line or a line so faint you could hardly even see it.

Then I did a clearblue digital (expensive!) and it showed I was pregnant.

Any chance you could pop out and get a digital test?

Digital tests are no more sensitive than cheaper ones. In fact they're usually less sensitive.

You say you don't have the money, don't feel pushed into spending money you don't have on a test that isn't any more sensitive than the ones you've already used.

You're getting faint lines so that shows you're producing hcg. It's v early days. I know the urge to pee on a stick is strong but just give it a few days, test again and if you're still not getting a clear answer, see the GP.

Yes, I would wait a few days and then test again. Both this pregnancy and last I didn't get a BFP until 25+ DPO. (Don't ask how many tests I did )

Also, you can buy the tests 2-3 for a pound at most pound shops...

thanks everyone for your replies.

well i did a cheap strip test and a tesco test this morning with first wee. with the cheap one i got a faint line but darker than previous lines. it came up after about 5/6 minutes. but the tesco one had no line at all.

i started to feel quite excited thinking yes it is possible im pregnant.but then about 4 hours after doing the test my period started.

so now im assuming im not pregnant and just must have had dodgy tests. but part of me doesnt belive this cause up until last wednesday all the tests i did had no line at all but then on wednesday i started to get faint lines and they have got slightly darker.all the tests i have used are the same make.apart from a couple of tescos.also i have felt really sick and exhausted.obviously just in my head.

im not having a miscarriage cause its normal heavyness and period pain.

i just dont know whats going on.im so dissapointed.

this wouldnt have been my first i already have 2 dds 10 and 4. it was my 4 year olds party today and i just felt horrible the whole time.

sorry its so long.
