I've been using Zita West belly balm & Palmers cocoa butter alternately night & morning & seems to be doing OK so far. I'll shut up now before I tempt fate & stretch marks appear all over my tummy this afternoon!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 14/12/2005 11:14

Is it too early for lunch. All this talk of food, now I'm starving!!

munz · 14/12/2005 11:54

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 14/12/2005 12:15

hi girls just been out getting a PS2 for DP thats his present for himself (from his Mum) but I have to buy it and wrap it (the big kid). Very uncomfy walking and getting loads of twinges but think they are ligament/muscular (I hope) as they are worse when I'm upright. Has scared me a bit though as I am so unprepared for this baby. Am going to get washing little clothes and packing hospital bag (just in case) today.

Am a tiny bit over 8 squares now (35+6 days) would say I'm smaller than I was with DD (weigh a stone less as well) and it all seems to be bump too.

I have only used Sanctuary mum to be cream this time after a shower, never got any stretchmarks last time though (bet I get them in the last week)!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

munz · 14/12/2005 14:06

well girls bacon butties were lovely. jsut checked online banking and DH has taken double out what I told him he could do v v pissed off - don't feel so guilty about having the whole cake now! he's left bearly enough for me till fri for petrol and dog food - i'm so with him right now esp as he's only sitting in the damn pub with his mates think there's gonna be a ruck tonight. so pissed off - and to think I have to go to the PO to do his fmaily's pressie after work

Cadmum · 15/12/2005 09:42

Hello! Nice to see that you are all feeling chatty. I had my GD test yesterday and I felt dead ill after drinking that sweet rubbish. The scary thing is that 3 hours later I felt as though I was going to pass out. (Guess my blood sugar must have plummeted as I hadn't had anything to eat since the test?) Did anyone else feel rotten following their test? I sure hope that it is not an indication that I have GD.

It had been a rather rough week here. My grandmother had a massive heart attack on Sunday (big shock as she was really active and feisty) whilst entertaining guests... Sadly, the paramedics brought her back to life 3 times on the way to the hospital but she sufffered massive heart damage and had only minimal brain activity so she passed away yesterday. My parents and my brother sound heart-broken but there is no way that I can fly out west to see them or attend the funeral. (My grandfather passed-away when I was pg with DS2 and I didn't fly back for his either...)

We are expecting up to 30 cm of snow this evening and I am hoping that it will not prevent DH from landing tomorrow evening. Our flight to NY is Monday and I am barely keeping it all together as it is without adding the last minute packing and flying there by myself...

Here it is 4:30 am and despite being exhausted, I just CANNOT sleep... Excellent!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 15/12/2005 12:02

Munz, LOL at your crease / stretch mark
Hope you didn't end up having a ruck with DH last night.

Kitty, I love the sanctuary cream and also the body wash as it stops everything itching. I've gone through gallons over the last few months (glad they were on offer in Boots for ages!)

Cadmum, I was starving after my GTT test but scoffed lots of sweeties just after 2nd blood test done. I think it is just a really long time to go without food and only having a gross liquid sugar drink doesn't help.
So sorry to hear about your grandmother

Midwife for me today, hoping she tells me that everything is ready as I so want to pop before Christmas.

munz · 16/12/2005 09:52

just a quicky nemo popped!

thread here

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 16/12/2005 11:21

Wow well spotted Munz well done Nemo so whose next George or DQ?? or will it be SK???

Munz, re taking baby to work, just make sure baby would be covered under insurance for H&S reasons, I know its only an office, but if someone drops a stapler on babys head or something you need to have comeback.
Re stretch marks for you, mine are holding at bay at the mo, although I'm starting to see some of the old ones looking a bit more big and silvery I'm using same as SK, Sancturay Mum to be oil, which was a birthday prezzie! also used the free coco butter samples from bounty etc, and using Aloe Vera stuff too! whether it works or not will be a totally different matter!

Rom about house, hopefully loads on the market after Xmas

Cadmum, so sorry to hear about your Gran such a shock when these things happen, {{{{Big Hugs}}} to you and yours

George, stop making me jealous, all that talk of stilton and digestives, I sooooo want to eat that.....10 weeks ish to go..........(well it will be on Sunday!)

Well girls, dh is promising to get dd's new room sorted out tomorrow, ready to paint (again) as I reminded him if this baby comes early, it'll be in the next 6-8 weeks and arghhhhhhh

romilly · 16/12/2005 14:50

fabulous news nemo well done you! thats three gorgeous little girls for this thread so far - reckon it may be a boy next?!

Cadmum: very sorry to hear your sad news about your grandmother poor you, it doesnt seem to get any easier for you. really sorry hun, big (((((((hugs)))))))))). hope the snow stays off for your d/h's flight.

munz - well done for link, you are v. impressive with keeping up with everyone on here. hope your d/h is making it up to you for being a bad boy

george - i use the same stretch mark combo as you, really hoping it does the trick!

well girls, my news is that my doctor ordered me to stop work when i saw him yesterday. so i am officially stopping after a few hours of collecting things, finishing off a few jobs next week. my stingy old boss came out with a classic, - he said, when he heard i was stopping a few days earlier than planned (3 days to be precise!) "oh well maybe we can call that your christmas bonus then." Nice huh?

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 16/12/2005 14:55

Isn't it fantastic news.
Having spent the last 2 days in the company of my bf and her 4 month old and now Nemos news, I am just so ready now.
Midwife measured me at 41 weeks yesterday but I don't know if that means anything apart from that I am a bit of a bloater!!

Rom, how weird is that!! Out of all the potions & lotions we could pick! Mine is still working at 38 weeks so there is hope

romilly · 16/12/2005 14:59

lol @ bloater george

well i have actually been using bio oil too - and i have the clarins oil which i havent started yet, so i am hoping that covers all bases, lol

romilly · 16/12/2005 15:01

oops i have just given away what a product-junkie i am

munz · 16/12/2005 15:04

rom - been watching for nemo as we talk on MSN as well.

at u stoppin earlier - but ur boss how rude.

so what is it then u girls actually use? cos i'll be topping up tomorrow in boots. any recommendations ladies?

friz - don't know about Jake in work - but tbh i'm now thinking I don't want to come back so we'll see they're interviewing for my job it says to cover mat leave but perm within a year as i'll be leavin next march 07 anyways. might just do the 10 hours from home and no in work.

munz · 16/12/2005 15:04

(DH not made up for it yet - he will thou! [wink} lol)

Cadmum · 16/12/2005 18:19

Yeah NEMO!!! Congratulations!

Munz: I use the coco-butter stick from the Body Shop. (whispers: I have no stretch marks to speak of but I am convinced that it is genetic as my DH has them from his early days in the Army.)

My grandma's funeral is today and somehow my parents seem to think that I enjoy staying here to shovel 25 cm of heavy wet snow off my driveway rather than being with them. Why will they NOT understand that I have real responsibilities here (including a 15th move in 12 years on Monday following my scan and appt. with the consultant) ? ARGH!!! Sorry for the rant.

Romilly that is great news about work but make sure that you do put your feet up. High blood pressure is not something to muck around with. (Says the arse who just cleared her own drive...)

munz · 16/12/2005 18:35

oh sorry cad's how v rude of me not to offer my condolances. (((((((((hugs)))))))) how are you getitng on? it's horrid isn't it being so far away at times like this.

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 16/12/2005 19:43

Caddy you shouldn't have done the drive (but then I'm guessing there is no one else too right....what ever happened to helpful neighbours?)

Oh why the change of heart Munz?

Rom at boss, but then that's male bosses for you at times!

Cadmum · 16/12/2005 20:59

Friz: My neighbour was out doing his drive at the same time as I was and he told me that I should take it easy and do it slowly but he knows a. I am pregnant. b. DH is in New York. c. I have 3 children. He did not offer to help and once he was finished he just walked back into his house... The funny thing is that I did the drive and the walk all winter when I was pregnant with DD (DH was away then too.) and she turned out just fine. My back is absolutely killing me though. I will need a bath this evening.

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 16/12/2005 21:32

Cadmum - so sorry to hear of your loss of your Grandmother mine died just before I became pregnant with DD so she never got to see her. Take it easy with the snow shovelling too.

Nemo - yea congratulations have posted on the other thread

Think I've got a while yet girls. Hope everyone else is doing well.
