We had a firm name for a girl, but after two scans he is 100% a boy..and it's harder than with a girl I think..soooooo.....

Also should say that as your kids go through school you start all sorts of connotations with other names like Rory and Jacob belonging to kids you don't like!

I like...

Theo
Alexander
Jude
Benedict
James
Gabriel

I love Alexander Jude for us if baby boy, DH has said a flat no to Gabriel and Benedict. Jude is def. a middle name for us, it's dh's middle name and the saint I prayed to (he is the patron saint of despertate cases) when my mum was critically ill. I am not particularly religious but our prayers were answered and my mum recovered. Admittedly we are way too early with names at 9+6 but I love these threads!

babyonboard · 24/09/2005 23:05

I really like alexander too, but I have two 'alexander' cousins, one 'alex' aunt, and five 'alex's' as close friends.
also really liking aiden and oscar (but dp insists if we pick this it should be spelt oskar!?)..hmm...

if we have a boy next dh & I have also suggested Gabriel..We also like Hugo & Harry.
I like alfie and archie as they are like (not to be taken the worng way) "little old men" names and well cute but dh is totally against them! Like who does all the hard work....????!!!!!!!!!

RTKangaMummy · 25/09/2005 18:19

babyonboard when DT1 died we felt very protective over his name

IMHO I would not use Joshua in case she feels the same as me

If a family member had used it I would have been very upset and found it very difficult hearing people talking about him by name iyswim

Even as a middle name, in case he decided to use it as his first name

BUT this is just my opinion

BunnyBoo · 25/09/2005 18:20

Tyler
Zak
Ethen
Matty
Leigh

babyonboard · 26/09/2005 15:23

rtkangamummy - My mum asked about 'joshua'.. and my aunt said she would think it lovely if we used it as a middle name. the surviving twin has it as his too.
Not sure..but at least we know she would like it if we do choose it.
sorry about your baby..were they born early too?

Cal or Louis (tho Louis could lead to lots of teasing in playground)

babyonboard · 26/09/2005 15:51

I think our shortlist is..
Oliver
Charlie (though dp argues 'charles' is best as it's a bit more formal and we can call him charlie, but I don't like 'charles' just 'charlie' iyswim..hehehe)
George (dp's grandad, who was amazing, was called 'Jeorgi' so I quite like that, just changed to the 'english' version)
Aiden
Oscar
Ethan
victor (dp's choice..i'm not sure!)
Jude
Elliot
and just for dp's amusemnt we have these written down too....
snoop
dre
kanye
