what do you think of 34 for first baby - or is it pushing it a little? Please don't be pc - I need opinions.

Long, long saga - never been a possibility before (never felt remotely interested in babies before, financial situation ALL wrong) and now I reallt feel like I want to be a mummy and I'm so aware that it's not a given.

Looking forward to replies

DC1 33 - DC4 41. You're definitely not too old.

ouryve · 23/09/2015 16:16

I had my first at 34.

Similar to you, wasn't with anyone I wanted to be a parent with until then and just wasn't interested. Got together with DH and suddenly discovered that I actually had a biological clock to tick.

ouryve · 23/09/2015 16:17

Arrrgh! sodding zombie thread. OP is 39 by now!

Spidertracker · 23/09/2015 16:20

I was 23.
I personally wouldn't have another now I am in my 30s. 30 was my cut off for number three it didn't happen.
That said mid thirties is probably average for a first now.

Heehee so it is!! Happy birthdays pink!! Grin

Spidertracker · 23/09/2015 16:22

Arggh so it is a Zombie thread, I checked the date before I posted as well. I read 24/9 and thought that's today she its actually tomorrow.

VenusVanDamme · 23/09/2015 16:26

Ds was born a week after I turned 28. Older than planned due to recurrent mc (would have been 26) so I'd always advocate getting on with it if it's what you want.

VenusVanDamme · 23/09/2015 16:27

Fuck sake - was in active so didn't check date!!

brookeberry · 23/09/2015 16:42

Well pink is now 39, so at 42, I don't feel so old now!

What do you think is the best age to have a child

Would you say 20-23, 24-27, 27-30 or 30+

Personally I was too busy with my life such as dating and going out a lot in my early to mid 20s. I tried so hard to get pregnant at 25 that I almost wrecked a marriage to keep my ex but it didn’t work at all. That year was a bad year for me however I’m glad it didn't work out because I met a guy at 26 during the first corona lockdown and I really liked him and made memories.

However I’m single all over again.

Now at 27 I feel like the clock is ticking as fertility declines after 30

What would you say is a good age bracket? :)
