Banana I had way less MS with this pregnancy than I did with DS. The tiredness was worse, but the sickness was better Hmm. It was only really noticeable at all between about 6.5 and 10 weeks, when it disappeared more or less without trace.

Battery I've been recommended to have the GTT test because DS was quite big (9lb 9oz), so they're on the look out for gestational diabetes (will also probably get a growth scan, esp as baby is on 99.9th percentile for dates already according to sonographer's graph). I'm not thrilled (about the test, the scan is v welcome), but interested to note all the extra care I'm getting this time round after (a) big baby and (b) bad birth last time. Feel quite lucky to live in a decent area!

Have had lots of congratulatory messages today - it's nice to start being able to tell people. I'm trying to tell everyone so I can put it on my blog and tell my blog readers why I've been absent for so long!

battery I am actually quite lucky that I have EDS, because my connective tissue just sort of comes apart, but apart from the initial pain that feels like someone is cutting you in half with a very sharp knife, it doesn't actually hurt. But when I lean backwards I have a sort of pasty ridge going up from my belly button, and a space in the muscles there that, at the moment, fits about two fingers. By the time I was full term with DS, the gap was a hand wide, but it only started at 19 weeks then, not at 11.....
Anyone else with split abs?

loopy I was just about to write that I've had a reasonably nice evening, then a bloomin 4 inch spawn of evil, with 8 long furry legs crawled out from the space between my pillow (which I was leaning against) and the wall that our bed is next to, causing me to jump, screaming, over DS who was asleep in the middle of our bed, causing him to wake up, and still be jumping around our bedroom now. (DH thought it would be a good idea to give him a piece of mocha cake - wtf??!?).
Anyway, DH has now caught the little fooker (the spider, not DS) and given it a new home in our garden, along with the snakes and whatnots, so I can try to put DS back to sleep for the 4th time tonight.

HOORAY to Lee, lovely names and lovely to see another happy outcome! Keep us up to date!

Must be a beef wellington week, I made it for me birfdy on Monday (happy happy dh...)

Constant kicking and streaming cold going on here, grrr, and it's vewy vewy wet out there.

Big squeezes to Leah, not what you need right now. What a time to choose - poor you.

Magic16 Just think what it WILL be like before long - party time's in your tummy! My neighbour was not aware she was expecting twins (this was quite a long time ago) and kept being told she was putting on too much weight and should stop eating so much until about 30 weeks when they finally noticed that she was being kicked both sides at once... dur.

I know there's loads more folks to namecheck but brian is full of snot. Sorry, must try harder (I KEEP saying this and KEEP failing. somebody use that fish on me please!)

PS I had a Moment in the middle of the night, y'know, as you do, and I was thinking about this post-grads thread and the fact that there's nowhere obvious to locate it. What this place (mn) needs is a post-natal clubs group or something similar... Any thoughts? I considered starting a 'would you use it' fred and contacting The Admin if people said Yes but it's a bit of a big step in my mn career (ie, leave things be, don't really start freds, etc). Y'see we've kind of been through all this Stuff together and I don't want us all to loose touch (snf snf).
Suggestions?

Unbuffy · 01/10/2010 13:19

pps SNAKES?!?!?!

randomimposter · 01/10/2010 13:35

uptheduffy I DO love you...somewhere like this you mean?

AlbaDeTamble · 01/10/2010 13:37

Unbuffy post natal clubs does exist... In the being a parent section... Are you going to set the thread up in advance?

AlbaDeTamble · 01/10/2010 13:39

Hello there Jolls, x post... Must run, back to work, feels so good to be back to normal I'm genuinely enjoying working today!!

tigerbear · 01/10/2010 13:53

Hello all, please can I join you?
Not that I'm expecting anyone to remember, but I was on the MC thread at this time last year (had mc very early at about 3-4 weeks).

I'm almost scared to be on this thread - I found out I was pregnant just 3 weeks ago, but had already been bleeding for 2 weeks before (which I thought was my normal period until it went a bit odd). I was on holiday at the time, but did test as soon as I came back, and thought, oh shit, same thing is happening as last time.
The spooky thing was, it was EXACTLY the same time as the last mc.

Had an early scan where they said it was too early too know whether it was ok, so had another scan this week, which happily showed there is a bean there! They could see the heartbeat, which was obviously amazing, but I still feel like an impostor as I have NO symptoms at all apart from being a bit tired.

Is anyone else approx 7+4 with no symptoms? I'm so scared the same thing will happen as last time.

Sorry to go on, especially in my first post!

Hello to all the lovely ladies here, and it's fab to see all of the birth announcements from people I remember from the old thread :)

Redheadgal · 01/10/2010 14:17

Gah! Finally moved into the new holiday let. Still living out of cardboard boxes. I'm so sick of unpacking and packing. The cats are on strike too. Refused breakfast and one vomited all over one of our nice rugs. They aren't impressed about the fact they are going to be locked up inside for a few days. Meanwhile at RedheadHQ the demolition mob have moved in - the kitchen has been ripped out and half the ceilings are down. Not bad for a morning's work. No going back now and other panicky thoughts...

Ok quick catch up because I feel an afternoon nap coming on before I tackle the unpacking.

Lee - congratulations! Love the name too.

Ivy - Am really not looking forward to abs splitting or ribs sticking out. And snakes...?!

Unbuffy - postnatal grads support group sounds good. Hope your cold clears up soon!

Alba - glad to hear you're feeling better.

Loopy - it's 1 October - get that fire lit I say. It's freezing! I know they say that pregnant women always feel warm but I just feel cold the whole time.

Quick 'hi' to jolls x

Had a sticky moment earlier when I realised that this would have been my due date had I not mc. Definitely feels better feeling my little girl kick away inside me, but still feeling a bit low about it. Not sure it merits a full fishy slap in the face, but wouldn't mind since I'm sure the cats would prefer it to their whiskas!

Unbuffy · 01/10/2010 14:26

okay, I feel stoopid... must learn to navigate this place better

Redheadgal · 01/10/2010 14:30

P.s. forgot to say hi to Tigerbear

p.p.s. can't wait to hear from TFLS

tigerbear · 01/10/2010 14:54

Thanks Redhead.
When is TFLS due?

banana87 · 01/10/2010 15:01

Thinking of you Red.

Welcome Tigerbear and congratulations! I too have been spotting since before my bfp. No scan as I think I am too early (and I am scared of inconclusives).

Still spotting :( Its not everytime and its still brown and its still mainly cm. Also still have backache. Smells are starting to get to me now. I haven't been sick nor felt really bad yet but its coming, I can feel it. Do you think if I was going to mc I would just get on with it? Its been over a week now and nothing has changed except symptoms getting stronger...think I need some reassurance!

tigerbear · 01/10/2010 15:18

Hi Banana - sorry you're worried. How many weeks are you? Sounds exactly like what i had - brown spotting. I think as long as it's not red blood, it should be ok.
Positive sign that you're having proper symptoms though! I would have an early scan at your local EPU. It is scary, and I'm still not totally convinced everything will be ok, but its amazing to have it done and see that there is something there!

banana87 · 01/10/2010 15:36

Thanks tigerbear. I am (according to LMP) 6 weeks, but 4 days behind that by my calculations. I think another week and a half and then I will contemplate a scan. The thought makes me feel sick. Plus if its not good news they make you wait 2 weeks anyway as its so early and I cannot deal with that again. I'd rather not know IYSWIM.

welcome tigerbear it's a really scary time and we've all been there, so you're in the right place!

my 20wk scan today... and it is indeed a little boy! Am very excited now, although my mum was slightly irritating with the words "oh dear poor you, are you sad?" Biscuit

was feeling good, until they booked me in for my 36 week scan (due to csection) and it's on the date I had my ERPC. Instantly welled up with tears -amazing how it can still hit you like a ton of bricks sometimes Sad

meita did you jsut pop on really quickly the other day? how are you and ianto getting on now?

have a lovely weekend all...
