clareanna hugs! and congrats on it being a boy :)

yes, we have all sorts in our garden. Snakes, toads, insanely large spiders, newts, and all sorts of random small animals. The house we still live in now is built on top of a grouping of natural underground wells.

DS was still bouncing off the walls at 1:30 last night, so sorry not to namecheck more, I'm shattered.

tigerbear · 01/10/2010 22:31

Thanks for the welcome back! :)
Banana, I know what you mean about the scan - even though I had mine on Monday and it was fine, I still can't stop worrying. DH doesn't really understand my fears. Conversation last night:
Me: DH, I'm scared that it won't be ok
DH (exasperated): But you SAW it on the scan, don't worry
Me: I know, but some people on Mumsnet had scans that were fine but then had a mc
DH: Well don't read all of those stories on Mumsnet then, if it scares you!

Bahhhhh!!!! They don't get it do they???

banana87 · 01/10/2010 22:47

Gah. I know. I SO know. My conversation the other day went like this:

Me: I think I am miscarrying again, there's been some blood
DH: Oh well. We will just try again.
Me: I think if it happens again we should have tests.
DH: I don't, that dr told us 25% of women miscarry..its normal.

Arghhh!

tigerbear · 02/10/2010 00:52

Yep banana, the other line is "Well even if it happens again, at least we know you can actually get pregnant".
Yeah, not so great if I can't STAY pregnant is it?

~feels v lucky to have an oh that does get it~

Unbuffy · 02/10/2010 09:26

just wanted to say a big HI HI to Tigerdear and HairyT and hang on in there! And remember men are another SPECIES sometimes and DON'T GET HORMONES - in either sense - except testosterone (sp?) which does NOT count!!

Clareanna boo hiss at your mw, they should highlight these dates in our notes and be careful around them. The registrar I saw at 20 weeks was the same girl we saw in hospital when I went in for my erpc. Fortunately this did not register until dh said afterwards 'did you see?' - was glad I did not. Not sure I could cope with scan on same date, same place etc. Not fair on you at all!

Cold has transmuted into full-blown man-flu complete with aches, pains and cement-filled sinuses. And all I can do is paracetamol and hot honey and lemon (without even the booze in it - dh has it with lemsip and whiskey and i can't do either. It's not FAIR)

Unbuffy · 02/10/2010 09:27

Should of course read Tigerbear - can't see proply through foggy glasses.

Hi everyone else, btw. Any news from the top of the list??

tigerbear · 02/10/2010 11:09

Hi Unbuffy and Loopy and everyone else.
Sorry you're feeling unwell Unbuffy.

batteryhen · 02/10/2010 11:28

Hello everyone :)

unbuffy man flu is not nice :( -shall I pass you some lovely oranges full of vitamin c?x

All is quiet here, I am going into slight panic mode as I have had no real symptoms over the past few days - but maybe I am just not a symptom person?

I am busy cleaning today - I am not seeing DP for another 2 weeks as he works and lives in germany :( I may have to bake some cookies and cakes toady too to eat myself take into work on Monday.
Have a lovely weekend xx

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 02/10/2010 11:34

hi and a little delayed welcome to tigerbear.

unbuffy a bit of fresh ginger stewed in some hot water, with lemon and honey is great for colds, along with some paracetamol. Of course, the not-pregnant me would be drugged up to the hilt in that situation, but you have to go with what you have.

If anyone needs cheering up - I just watched the Rainbow "Twangers" episode on youtube. I don't think I've laughed so hard that I cried for a pretty long time. Hilarious.

big wave at everyone. no news from the top of the list yet?
I'm going crazy bidding on maternity bundles on ebay. time to go furniture shopping for the new house!

Hope you are feeling better soon Unbuffy.

I am feeling very very sick. Eating now to attempt to feel better. I took metaclopramide in my last pregnancy, do you think its ok to take this? Still having some brown spotting when I wipe....it freaks me out every time, but nausea is chilling me out a bit...

louisesh · 02/10/2010 17:04

No news!!!! Still here!!!! Freezer now full most definately ready!!!!! Off to the cinemma tonight ,we ve done a "dummy" run to the hospital....Soo now READY!!!! Hear that Georgie????

Hi to all X

zayja · 03/10/2010 01:03

Congrats Lee, so glad you've got your little one here safely! Hope your recovery is speedy!

TFLS and Louise - can hardly wait for your news! Hope you stay comfy as can be until then!

Can hardly believe I'm 30 weeks today - don't feel or look it! Last appt. I was "measuring small" - the fundal height from pelvic bone to top of uterus taken w/ tape measure. Anyone else have this? Mostly not worried but it'd help to hear others in the same boat...

Now, I am in trouble a bit Blush...I have been reading but have been too tired and busy at school to post. I thought that I would catch up once on maternity leave, but I have realised that I have left it way too long Blush again. So, congratuations to everyone who has had a baby who I haven't celebrated with (Lee & Boodle) and congratulations to all those who have had brilliant scans. Comiserations (sp?) to those feeling sick and lousy, it's all in a good cause and it does go Smile. All I can do now is fill you in with my own news and promise to be more attentive in the future.

I haven't had a baby yet for those who have been wishing luck and asking. Thank you all for your mentions and thoughts, time is ticking on here, much more slowly I suspect since I finished work on Thursday. It was a massive relief to stop but an odd feeling too as I love my job. I worked up to 37 weeks which with two dd's and a home to run was ok I reckon. Baby is fine, I have a lot of contractions each day now, some more uncomfortable than others and am generally feeling like I'm pretty much ready. For those having their first baby (sorry to be boring to everyone else), the contractions that I'm having are like period pains and although I notice my tummy going really hard and the sensation of mild pain, neither are strong enough to time. It will come on and I will notice later that it's gone. So I know it's not actually labour even if I go on like that for hours. I do hope no-one found that last explanation annoying Blush. I am struggling with sleeping too(as you may have noticed from the time). I wake up at 3.20am every morning to go to the loo and then can't get back to sleep. Every night. You could set your watch by me. Ho hum. I've been ironing and sorting out laundry Blush. DH thinks I'm mad.

Anyway, that's enough wibbling on. I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday and that TFLS & Louise have both produced babies ovenight Grin. SB x

Hi ZAYJA 30 weeks eh? Time flys doesn t it?

Still no Georgie here!!!! DH was sure it would start last night but no!!!!!

TFLS any news?

Hi to everyone else XX

banana87 · 03/10/2010 09:57

Aw, Loopsy hope you start feeling a little better soon. It's so stressful having something threatening the pregnancy, isn't it? Which I am sure does nothing for MS.

I am ultra panicked. My brown went to red last night, only on wiping, but I freaked. I have been "digging" around the last several few days with toilet paper, oops. Anyway, its back to brown now and again, only on wiping with nothing in underwear. Did anyone else go from brown to red and everything still ok?

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 03/10/2010 10:20

Magic8 waves from behind all the boxes containing the old kitchen contents and new kitchen. Will be back to catch up properly soon! Love to all x

Hopefully · 03/10/2010 13:09

Urgh.

Two days after telling everyone the good news that I am PG, we are having to give them all the less thrilling news that DP has been sacked Sad Shock. We are appealing it all (his employer has accused him of several gross misconduct issues which are simply untrue - have a thread running in employment issues now), but very miserable meanwhile, and I am desperately trying to make some money with my little business (which is really only intended as a pocket money maker!).

Banana sorry you're stressed. I haven't had what you've experienced, but FWIW when I MC'd, there was no messing around, it just happened, so hopefully if it had gone wrong, you'd know because it would be much worse, iykwim. Sorry, that's not exactly good news, but maybe a bit of reassurance. When do you have a scan?

Sam I have developed a weird ability to go back to sleep with a full bladder. I wake up a couple of times a night needing the toilet, then go back to sleep before I can be bothered to get up. I am comically desperate in the morning. I swear it's only a matter of time till I wet the bed Grin. Had exactly the same last time too.

Zayja I measured small (only a tiny bit) for my entire pregnancy last time, and DS was 9lb 9oz...

Feeling very sorry for myself - had a spectacular fall down the stairs on the way to work last night. Thank god the baby is ok, had a reassuring CTG and scan, but I can honestly say I have never been so terrified. I haven't been able to get out of bed today, the back pain is horrific, and the codiene makes me feel dizzy and sickly. I have got 4 weeks at work until I take the 4 weeks holiday I had saved prior to maternity leave, I would be devastated if I have to leave work now on the sick. Fingers crossed the back heals and doesn't impact upon the rest of my pregnancy.

So it seems that there are a few of us tucked up in bed with laptops with various ailments! Get well soon to all the snifflers and good luck to all those with scary early pregnancy symptoms.
