thefatladyscreams · 01/11/2010 11:39

Have been thinking of you this morning Louisesh - will light a candle this evening. VivC - lovely that you have a special candle for your little ones. x

On a lighter note, what an experience toomuch - keep thinking of you when I see news articles re airport security now - especially the clip where they show a woman unzipping her boots!

VivClicquot · 01/11/2010 13:43

:) After we lost the first, we originally wanted to plant a tree but our north-facing garden isn't very plant-friendly and I was worried it would die, so I splurged on a Jo Malone candle which we keep on my dressing table. It's lovely and also, if I smell someone wearing that particular scent, it's a strangely nice and comforting reminder too. Odd to feel that way over some blooming wax (!), but it's nice to light if ever we're feeling reflective.

clareanna · 01/11/2010 13:45

You're in my thoughts today Louise - Georgie will always be remembered. Will join in the candle lighting this evening at 8 in memory of your precious little girl x

Hope you're having a beautiful day Louise, despite intense sadness, making special memories for Georgie.

Sparkly... I meant to say when you posted about feeling so dreadful, I am so much better now than a few weeks ago. Dr wasn't worried by my iron levels (10.9) only borderline low, but midwife was. Since then I've spent a fortune on spatone sachets, taking two a day in fruit juice and it's working. Levels increasing and I feel loads better. Certainly worth a try if you're not taking the stuff already if your iron on the low side of normal. A friend was taking iron tablets on prescription which didn't work and she's switched and also noticing a change (and to quote TFLS, I'm not on commission, honest!)

Another advocate for natal hypnotherapy, i've been listening to the pregnancy one so far and it's not too cheesy. About to start on the birth one... Good to hear positive reports.

Just read sad news in 'sleb-land, Lily Allen's lost her baby. They really are vulnerable and precious little creatures we're carrying. I'm treasuring every kick, even the uncomfortable ones today.

AlbaDeTamble · 01/11/2010 14:14

Hope all well with your scan Unbuffy

Wobblewatcher · 01/11/2010 15:19

I don't know you Louise but thinking of you today.

Poor poor Lily Allen, 2nd miscarriage.

Going out for a nice meal tonight to take my mind of the craziness and paranoia that is my pregnancy! A girl lost hers today on my AN thread so very sorry for her...

AlbaDeTamble · 01/11/2010 15:44

Wobble try to remember there is a much higher chance of all being well than of things going wrong. Hope that helps you a little

toomuchteaching · 01/11/2010 16:18

Advice please...

So in the night, and it's pretty much every night, as I wake up and turn over, or stretch out, I get really bad shooting pains about where you would wax your bikini line if you weren't pregnant and could still be arsed with these things. They're are properly painful, really cramp like, but don't last very long. I get one on each side at different points in the night.

What's going on? Is anyone else getting this? Still freaking out at every twinge...

Hope you're doing ok Louise and that your scan went well Unbuffy, and everyone else had a good Monday... it's nearly dark :(

clareanna · 01/11/2010 16:24

Poor lily Allen - to go through that in private is bad enough.

toomuch it sounds like ligament stretching - as you roll over, baby rolls too and puts different pressure on different ligaments - can be v painful! But I would phone your mw and ask to be on the safe side. It's rubbish when getting comfortable is uncomfortable!
Glad you had a good time In Prague we went there I'm our "pre-baby lots of citybreaks" stage at this time of year and it was magical

Unbuffy · 01/11/2010 16:52

hi all

scan fine although was shaking like a leaf! bean got hiccups and could not be measured too, but at least is right way up! and registrar useless - since have spent hours sorting out birth plan with hospital and she said, so, when shall we book you in for a c-section then? bastards. right hand and left hand have noooo idea what's going on, don't read notes and so on.

but still.

Thinking of louise right now and feeling very lucky.

Muser · 01/11/2010 17:04

Congrats on the scan Unbuffy, I have an uncooperative baby when it comes to scanning too, but good that it's bouncing around happily.

Meita · 01/11/2010 17:51

Have been thinking of you Louise, and will light a candle for Georgie.

Love to all.

thefatladyscreams · 01/11/2010 18:03

Great news Unbuffy - hope you get your birth plan sorted with the hospital. If I've remembered correctly I think you were apprehensive about going into hospital (sorry if I've got you mixed up) so not exactly helpful of them. But so pleased the scan went well.

Toomuch - sound like ligaments to me as well but I'd echo the comment about giving your midwife a quick call to put your mind at rest.

VivC - that's beautiful.

Alba - the natal CDs are great but there are a couple of cheesy expressions in the birth preparation one - will be interested to hear what you think! Keep meaning to listen to the post birth one - maybe I should listen to it with DS!

CaribouMoo · 01/11/2010 19:16

Hi everyone, just popping in to say I've been thinking about Louise today - and since i checked back a while ago and read about Georgie. I'll join you all in lighting a candle later.

I am 12 weeks this week and hopefully have a scan next week. All being well I will take the plunge and hopefully will join you properly then x

AlbaDeTamble · 01/11/2010 19:56
