Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hairytriangle · 22/10/2010 13:12

Hello all. Just hopping on to say I had my seven plus 5 scan today and saw a heartbeat :) :) I am over the moon, and am going to ask to be tentatively added stats wise.

So...

Number 1, age 42, EDD June 5th 2011.

Hope all are well!

Unbuffy · 22/10/2010 13:14

Hi all

Louise thinking of you. it must be so hard to think about the day-to-day stuff while trying to deal with such terrible grief - i'm certain you just want to tell work and all the government forms and just all the life stuff like cooking and other everday hassles to get well and truly stuffed and i am constantly amazed at your strength and ability to carry on despite everything. Take strength from the fact that you ARE strong, if that makes sense, and you will carry on to a happier time in the future, even if it does not feel like it at the moment.

Battery, how awful for you. I do hope all goes (as) well (as can be expected) today. It is so unfair, you are in my thoughts.

Banana, hang in there. It feels so raw and horrendous now but it is still very early days. Take care of yourself.

Hi all else, I will try to keep up with news but due to what dh insists on calling a 'beer/keyboard interface situation' the computer does not work any more and I'm on the hugely slow and v ancient backup craptop (seriously, it's about 11 years old) and there's no guarantee what will happen... this may not even post...

Best to all x

hairytriangle · 22/10/2010 13:15

Oh Battery so, so sorry hon.

Unbuffy · 22/10/2010 13:16

And a fast hoorah for hairy!

PenguinsMummy · 22/10/2010 13:31

Sam lovely to hear that you are all doing so well

Many congrats to Hairy that's really great news!

digitalgirl · 22/10/2010 18:19

Great news hairy!

My next scan can't come soon enough, I'm a gibbering wreck at the moment. Completely convinced this pg will go the same way as the last. Dh doesn't know what to do, I keep waking up saying 'i don't feel pg anymore' and bursting into tears. Then feeling guilty that my pessimism will negatively affect the baby, if there is one. Wish I could just enjoy these days. But everyday is an anxiety filled struggle.

louisesh · 22/10/2010 18:40

Congrats to HAIRY X Met with the reverend today, he s lovely. He blessed Georgie in the hospital and he s conducting our service.Another day done.At my folks for a few days.Don t like our house anymore used to love it but hate it now, now its just bricks and mortar.Feel guilty as left our 2 wonderful cats again, they ve been soo good in the last 2 weeks , tried loving them and reassuring them this am.Poor things. They ve had thier lifes turned up side down recently.

Missing Georgie soo much she should be here at my mum and dads its horrible this, really horrible.Only hope i ve got on many threads i ve posted on/been watching many women have got pg asap after a stillborn. My dh is desperate for me to be pg again asap.

Hi to all XX

HopeBatterys ok.

Thanks for your kind words UNBUFFY xx

Effilump · 22/10/2010 19:04

Just a quick one to let you know that baby was born, on his due date 16th Oct, very quick, only just got to hospital on time, he arrived five minutes after we got there!
Unfortunatley he's in special care, has been since he was born, and for a few weeks yet we have been told. He had breathing problems at birth, and he's been pretty poorly ever since. I dont know if anyone can remember my risk results at 1 in 5? Well baby also has downs, but it doesnt matter to us, we just want him well and at home, and he's such a sweetie. Love to you all. XX

hairytriangle · 22/10/2010 19:31

Oh Louise I'm so sorry you are going through this. :( thank you for stopping to congratulate me, that was lovely when you are going through such a very, very hard time.

Muser · 22/10/2010 19:36

Congratulations Effi. What a speedy arrival! I hope your little boy is home with you soon.

tigerbear · 22/10/2010 19:37

Congratulations Effilump!! Must be a worrying time though - I hope your little one is safe at home very soon. What is his name?

Congrats also to Hairy

Digi - I'm right there with you. Am also driving my DH round the bend with pessimism and negativity. Sooo scared about the 12 week scan.

Louise you poor thing. It must be so hard for you and your family. How are your parents coping? I hope they're giving you lots of hugs and support. Don't worry about the cats - they'll be fine.

Hello to everyone else.

toomuchteaching · 22/10/2010 19:44

Congratulations effilump, sounds like you had an eventful day! Hmm... people are scaring me with stories of only just getting to hospital (I suspect I'll be the opposite, Hmm there and panicking far too soon!!) Thank you for posting and letting us know... I do hope your little boy gets stronger and stronger every day. What does he weigh? Looking forward to hearing a name too. And hope you're doing ok and recovering well.

And congrats hairy too. Super news.

Battery thinking of you today, hope you're doing ok. And louise I think you continue to amaze us every day with how strong you're being, it's so unfair you have to do any of this at all... but you are doing a fantastic job of getting things done for Georgie and holding it together.

Much love everyone... it's finally half term and we're going away to Prague for a few days, I can't wait.

BunnyBaby · 22/10/2010 20:29

effilump congratulations, your son sounds wonderful and completely perfect! I am sure he will be feeling stronger soon and be home with you before you know it!

hairy really good news!

Louise I am glad you are getting comfort from your reverend, sometimes people outside our immediate circle give the most reassurance as they are a new perspective. My childhood priest was amazing when we lost Gabriel, but that was very early on in my pregnancy. You're all very much in my thoughts.

banana and battery so sorry to hear your news, so very sad for you both to go through again. Lots of love

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 22/10/2010 21:59

Congratulations Effilump! I hope that your family are all together at home soon x

Thinking of you Louise x

louisesh · 22/10/2010 22:04

Thanks all i m not that strong just plodding through its horrible!!!!!

Congrats EFFI hope your babys ok and you get through as a family!!!! XX

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 22/10/2010 23:02

just wanted to quickly pop in and say sorry to hear about your bad news, battery. I had my fingers crossed for you. :(

big hugs to everyone who needs them

congratulations effi!

no change here, physically, still feeling rough and like I'm going downhill. moving house next weekend, then seeing my mw on tuesday, maybe she has some advice.
I've started to crochet to distract myself from my misery. img102.imageshack.us/img102/8987/totorobuo9.jpg

ooh congratulations effi what a quick birth!Hope your little boy is home soon - please let us know how you're all getting on xx

Gi1da · 23/10/2010 17:55

Wonderful news Effilump! I hope your little boy's getting stronger every day and will be home with you very soon. Congratulations to family Lump!

Louise wishing you and your family well. Thinking of you every day and wishing I could find something of comfort to say. I'm sure you don't feel it now, but you are very strong and brave. Taking every day one at a time will eventually bring you to a brighter time in your life. Hang in there x.

Ivy sorry you're so poorly, I hope you feel better soon. Bloody fabulous crochet btw - Studio Ghibli a-go-go! There was an extra space in your link but it works here - I love this! Did you find a pattern or are you a wool genius and just free styled? Very impressed. I can just about do squares, so was thinking of starting a cot sized granny blanket which will probably take me all winter!

Digigirl I think we've all felt like that, this is indeed the support group for pregnancy anxiety. Keep as positive as you can, right now you are upduffed so just be in the moment and look after yourself.

Hairy popped you on the list lovely. Huge congrats again. Smile

SamB great to hear how well you and Ruby are doing.

Buffy how's the new puppy settling in?

All's quiet in Gilda land, horrid cold is on the way out I hope, actually managed to get some sleep last night, though I think I snored snuffled loud enough to keep DH awake Blush. Hopefully our new boiler will get installed at the beginning of next week so by Weds / Thurs we will have heating and hot water for the first time since spring. (There is a very crap electric shower so I'm not a complete stink-bag, but OMG has it been getting chilly lately. And I am so sick of washing my face in cold water Shock).

Well wishes to all x

LeeWT · 23/10/2010 22:24

effi many congrats on the arrival of your little man! What weight and name? I remember you getting the risk results.. I know a couple with a little girl with downs who absolutely thrashes her mainstream classmates in maths and science and won gold at the special olympics, also is about the nicest child you could ever meet.. It made me very unafraid going into my risk assessment if that makes sense..
I really hope he thrives and you can get him home very soon.. Hopefully you'll have time to update us..

tfls I hear you on the breastfeeding nightmare. Despite putting whisky and glycerine in my boobs in preparation, watching bf dvds, buying anything that promised to help but I was in excruciating pain within hours I was bleeding. I expressed 8-10 times a day for the firstt three weeks but have given up now due to poor Andrew having colic/reflux so can't puthim down long enough to get expressing. I think it's very hard when it doesn't go as you want but in the end you can only do what you can do..

Louise how are you doing pet? Hope you are getting through each day as best you can xxx

Hi to everyone else, would like to namecheck but am on phone so too hard!

Meita · 23/10/2010 22:33

Congratulations Effilump!
And wishing you lots of strength for the difficult time this must be. I hope your little boy gets well enough to come home with you soon. Have his difficulties got something to do with Downs or are they unrelated?

Best wishes to everyone else too!

batteryhen · 24/10/2010 14:28

batteryhen glad to hear DP is with you and taking good care of you. Hope it happens for you really soon.

effi congratulations on the birth of your son. Hope he makes a speedy recovery and you're all tucked up at home v soon.

g1lda glad youre feeling better and thanks, I've never had anxiety as severe as this. I get insomnia from about 4:30 and have all sorts of irrational thoughts running through my head. It's impossible for me to enjoy this stage - although at 7 weeks today I'm officially further along now than I have been in my last two pregnancies.

tigerbear when's your scan? They're bloody nerve-wracking aren't they?
