Muser · 24/10/2010 17:11

I'm glad your husband is with you battery. Here's hoping your back here again soon.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 24/10/2010 17:33

gilda thanks for fixing my link.
I used to crochet quite a lot when I was at school, then I moved out from home and drinking, then later university and babies got the better of me. I facied getting back into it, and thought something simple like totoro would be ideal to get started. I have since also made his little white buddy with the pointy ears and managed to give myself blisters :)

battery glad your OH is with you.

louise I'm amazed by how you are plodding on. take it easy. big hugs.

I will be AWOL for a while soon. We're moving house at the weekend, and although I've already ordered the innternet for it, I'll have house moving to keep me entertained at the weekend, and then next week Towers of Midnight is coming out, so I shall be neglecting my husband, son and house and be reading.

AlbaDeTamble · 24/10/2010 17:40

Hope the list's ok... Just doing my bit before a few days away on hols... What's the chances of relaxing with 6 (!) kids at centerparcs??? Wish me luck.

Effi congratulations and hoping your little boy is up to strength and home with you really soon.

Battery, good news that your DP is home and looking after you so well. I hope you can both be together as much as you need to be for TTC again when you're ready.

Sarahlou thinking of you, wishing you an easy labour and healthy baby

Viv hope you had a lovely, warm, relaxing break.

HairyT congrats on good scan news, great to see you on the list.

Louise, big hugs. I hope focussing on a little sibling for Georgie will help you remember to try to eat well, keep your strength up and don't forget lots of folic acid.
My DH's aunt had fit and healthy twins after a little boy stillborn at term.

best of luck for any scans coming up this week... I may well be posting a lot if a decent signal... Then again, maybe just lots of catching up next weekend.
Have a good week everyone

AlbaDeTamble · 24/10/2010 17:46

Good luck with the house move Ivy

PenguinsMummy · 24/10/2010 20:46

Congratulations Effi - hope your little boy is with you really soon.

Battery Take care of yourself.

HappyGirl1 · 24/10/2010 21:12

Effi congratulations on the birth of your son. Looking forward to hear name and weight etc. Hope he is doing well.

Battery really sorry to hear your news, hope you are doing as well as can be expected and be thoroughly spoiled.

Louise thinking of you lots.

No news here, bit of a sad weekend as our MC baby was due this weekend, my parents are over which is great but i've found it a bit hard to keep it together. Obviously we are very lucky to be pregnant again now. Just trying to stay positive. Hoping little baby in there now is doing well, i've been a busy bee today so haven't been paying too much attention to kicks but it's had a few now while watching x factor which is good.

tigerbear · 25/10/2010 08:17

Hi everyone.
Digital - it's tomorrow afternoon. Totally petrified now.
Over the weekend I found out that 3 more friends of mine are at exactly the same stage - 12 weeks. One had her scan last week, one has it Wednesday and the other Thursday. I'm praying things will be ok for all of us, couldn't bear it if one of us gets bad news.

Gi1da · 25/10/2010 09:15

Digitalgirl and Tigerbear wishing you happy scan results tomorrow, and hoping you manage to get through today without driving yourselves potty. Deep breath, relax, but keep busy.

Alba oh my heavens - 6 kids at CentreParks? Wow, I hope they all wear themselves out in record time and give you some time to relax and enjoy the break.

Ivy good luck with the move. What is is with authors who start something then take too long to finish it - I am currently very cross with George RR Martin. Hoping he doesn't do a Jordan and shuffle off this mortal coil before he finishes the bloody saga! Hmm

Happygirl hug for your due date. It's very odd when it comes isn't it? I remember getting cross with something at work and saying oh for heavens sake I should be having a baby today not dealing with this crap - and my colleague loooking at me like I was totally nuts. Do take comfort in the little one wiggling about now. Even if they do respond to Simon Cowell! Smile

Battery looking forward to seeing you back here real soon x

Hope things are going well with SarahLou fx for an easy time for you.

Good heavens doesn't time fly - Buffs you're practically top of the list! Eeek! Wink

Unbuffy · 25/10/2010 09:41

morning all

groan notta lotta sleep here... apolgies for crapness of spelling etc!

I just have to say, Ivy I loooove your Totoro - do you have the pattern/where can i get it?! My mil is a mad knitter/crocketer/you name it-er and my neice is a totoro NUT (well just a nut actually...!)

All going fairly well here, getting very slow and heffalumpy though. Puppy settling in well, a few puddles but getting better - at least we're finally down to 1 after having various other pups staying with us for faaar too long. dd is baby-obsessed, can't be bothered with dollies but all her soft toys have to be wrapped up in blankets and rocked like babies!! Have packed hospital bag since hitting no. 2 on the list - super-organised or what?! I'm off for 2 1/2 days on Thurs to a health farm place to be pampered and relaxed and swim and sturf, so that should be good! dh is babysitting, should be interesting for them both, bless. Tis my birfday present (very late!)

Take care all, have a lovely centreparcs Alba (?!) and special hugs to Louise

x

CONGRATULATIONS Effi!!! Hope your little boy gets well soon so you can take him home. He sounds gorgeous.

Good luck for scans tomorrow, hope it all goes well.

I was just wondering, how many movements am I supposed to feel a day? I'm sure I read something about ten movements a day, but the bub didn't move at all (well, if it did, I didn't notice it) yesterday until I got hysterical Blush and then he/she did some wriggling (perhaps wriggling in disgust that his/her mother is a loon).

Hi to everyone, hugs to Louise, Banana and Battery.

xxxxxxx

Sarahlou8 · 25/10/2010 11:36

Hi all,

Just to let you all know baby Emily Isabella arrived on Thursday night, weighing 7lb8oz - she is absolutely gorgeous!
It was a long labour - 18 hours, because she was back to back and wasn't engaged at the start, but she turned in the last half hour and everything went really well, such a relief to be home, these early days feel so special.

Sorry I haven't had chance to catch up with everyones posts for quite a while, I will when we are a bit more settled, but for now, just wanted to share some happy news with you all.

I know theres been a fair bit of sadness here over the last few weeks and my heart goes out to you. Louise you, in particular are constantly in my thoughts.

Best wishes and good luck for everyone else - time to bow out from the top of the list!!

VivClicquot · 25/10/2010 11:47

Hi everyone x

Oh battery, my buddy - I'm absolutely devastated for you. I'm sat at my desk blinking away tears at how bloody unfair it all is. Hope DH looked after you this weekend and that you're taking it easy.

banana - I'm similarly upset to hear your news too. I hope you're doing okay. I've only managed a quick scan through the posts since I went away, but I saw you saying that after 2 losses, you don't think it'll ever happen for you. I just wanted to say I had two losses before this pg, and while it's still early days, I like to think my story might give you hope. Also interestingly - both losses were pregnancies which were conceived at the first time of trying, whereas this one took nine cycles. I firmly believe there's something in the fact that the first two were just too easy to be true, if that makes sense - although I'm sure it's nothing I could ever prove.

effi and sam - hurray hurray hurray. Fab news for both of you. Sam, I love Ruby's name, and effi, I hope your gorgeous boy is getting stronger by the day and that you'll have him home soon.

digi and tiger - hope your scans both go well tomorrow. Hope today goes very quickly for you, and you manage to relax :)

Hope the rest of you are okay. Our holiday was really lovely - we had a couple of days of bad weather but other than that, it was gloriously hot and sunny.

Was astounded to see when I got back yesterday that I've actually lost weight - despite now having a definite curve to the old belly - which left me frantically googling to see whether it's normal to get to 13 weeks without putting on a single pound. Confused

Am also getting nervous about telling people - we still haven't told our families or friends and intend to do so this weekend, but part of me is scared that something will have gone wrong by then and that we should just keep it quiet. Or that I should have another scan before then 'just to make sure'. All of which I know is ridiculous as I can't keep having scans every week just to reassure my neuroses, but even so - after what happened last time, telling people just feels like it might jinx us.

(I also hope doesn't offend those who have had bad news recently x)

Anyway, I better crack on. Have lots of work to catch up on so love to you all

xxx

VivClicquot · 25/10/2010 11:49

Ooh congratulations sarah - more lovely news. And such a gorgeous name too. You sound smitten :) x

Gi1da · 25/10/2010 12:23

Waves at Viv glad you had a lovely holiday. Hmmm have almost forgotten what it feels like to be warm!

LuckyBear some days I feel more movements than others, I had a scary day last week when I couldn't feel anything and got a bit hysterical, but the next day I felt wriggles. Maybe to do with which way baba is facing? I have started doing a kick counter on the ipod from time to time, but have concluded that bean has a sense of honour as it always seems to go to sleep as soon as I press 'start' Hmm.

Congrats again to Saralou

Goodluckbear · 25/10/2010 13:31

Congrats Sarah!!! Fantastic news, a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

Thanks Gilda - I think I need to get myself out of the habit of thinking the worst all the time.... I think the baby is having a bit of a laugh sometimes anyway, whenever I stop to have a feel of the movements, baby stops too - like we're both waiting for the other to do something.

xxxxxxx

Muser · 25/10/2010 13:50

Congrats Sarahlou, lovely news and a great name.

Gi1da · 25/10/2010 14:16

Doh humour not honour btw. Haven't noticed any chivalry. Hmm

Gi1da · 25/10/2010 14:19

Ps bought my first bottle of gaviscon today. Damn near opened the bottle on the walk back from the shop. It is ok for me to guzzle away isn't it?

SamanthaB123 · 25/10/2010 14:28

Hello!

Congratulations Sarahlou, I have been wondering how you were getting on. Emily is a lovely name, I really hope that she is settling into your family well.

Buffy Get you at the top of the list! I'd packed my bags early too. It helped me feel in control. In the event I was only in hospital for six hours and hardly used anything!

I've updated the list to show Ruby's birthweight. All well here, we think Ruby has a mild tongue tie which is causing feeding to be uncomfortable for me. She is fine, guzzling away every two hours. I'm in pieces Grin! It's not that bad, just sore. The nipple can't get to where it should because she can't use the full extent of her tongue. The milk comes out perfectly but it makes me sore. Definately not up to breastfeeding in public yet, still at the boob in full view and milk squirting everywhere stage. Lovely Smile.
