I think I should've logged on at home rather than at work as now I have to pretend I've got something stuck in my eye....that was a lovely post BunnyBaby.

Banana - so sorry this has happened again. Glad you are pushing for answers and support, thinking of you.

Louise - I haven't got any words of comfort, but I was thinking of you and Georgie this weekend. You are a strong lady.

Hello everyone,

Louise I am thinking of you everyday, I have been so in awe of the way that you are dealing with it. I hope that you are ok today.

Banana You are in my thoughts too. I hope that you are feeling more positive following lots of posts regarding pregnancy after multiple miscarriages. Although my experience is much more limited than yours (only one mc) I have also always conceived quickly. I conceived twice in three months at the start of the year.

Ivy I?m sorry that you are feeling so lousy. Hopefully you will start to pick up in the next few weeks. My morning sickness didn?t fully pass until 16 weeks and then it was very gradual. Are you getting support from your midwife/doctor?

Toomuchteaching Your ante-natal class sounds fab! We went to NCT ones which were excellent but were very long. 7.30 ? 10pm on a Monday for four weeks and two Saturdays. I hadn?t stayed up ?til 10pm in months before we started them! I was always amazed at how little they talked about pain. It was very biologically correct and pain relief was discussed but no-one actually said ?It really hurts?. Maybe it won?t this time Grin.

Happygirl Hope you got on ok at the doctors this morning.

Thank you everyone for your positive birth vibes, I do really appreciate your support. I can?t wait for the moment when I can finally post and say that I?ve done it (wipes tears from her face in anticipation)! Things are all a bit odd here at the moment. I had a bad night Saturday and kept waking up with horrible cramps and backache. Turns out that I had hideous diarrhea. Now I know that it is a sign, but I think usually it?s more of a clear out rather than an avalanche Blush. Yesterday I felt terrible and couldn?t keep anything inside me at all ? and overnight last night too. I have had some contractions through the whole episode but not very close together. Now I just feel totally wasted and have no energy at all. I?ve been eating really interesting foods like crackers which so far have stayed in. I spoke to the midwife who said it sounded like early labour (really???) but could just be a bug that I?ve picked up. She said if I got worse or was still the same in the morning I should call the labour ward. All I?ve done this morning is sleep and I do feel a tiny bit better. I have a consultant appointment tomorrow so I can get it all checked out then. The baby has been moving well so I?m mainly worried about my energy levels more than anything else. Ooof. This baby making malarkey is everso tiresome..!

Thanks BUNNY thats a lovely poem.

Good luck SAMB theres nothing to be in awe in of me i m a crumbling wreck.Don t see the point in getting up at the moment its only cos my mum and dad are here i m getting out of bed.Rowing with my DH [even though i know i shouldn t ].Don t see the point to anything. All our future plans were around Georgie[my 40th bday in DEC,xmas, new year etc...] Now a big fat fuc**ng zero.....Guess i m hitting the anger stage of grieving.Everything just seems soo pointless.Just been to the post office and even that reminds me we should have been pushing Georgie there for the first time.Sad

Thanks GOODLUCKBEAR hi to all

SamanthaB123 · 18/10/2010 13:45

Louise, everything you are feeling is totally normal and it's really important to get it out. All of the 'normal' things that you do will seem horrid at first. How long are your parents staying?

OP posts:
AlbaDeTamble · 18/10/2010 14:06

Louise it does sound like everything you're going through is normal, though I don't suppose that knowledge makes it any easier. I hope you're able to get everything out, rowing with your DH is quite understandable, probably going through the anger stage together, but dealing with it differently, hence the rows. I'm so so sorry, it really is so unfair.

On the looming 40... probably feels most unwelcome just now, but if you can, try to remember it's just a number (I'm 42, on paper, in my head still in my mid-30's!). When you're up to TTC again, there is a fantastic feisty and fabulous 40+ thread in the conception section. They really helped me and are all extremely understanding, welcoming and supportive, I still pop back, can't quite leave the thread completely.

Happy, hope you got some reassurance this morning?

Sam hopefully your sweep tomorrow will get things moving?

banana I hope the fertility clinic people were helpful today

HappyGirl1 · 18/10/2010 14:23

Hi Ladies,

Louise I think it must be totally normal and natural for you to be at the anger stage, keep posting here, i hope we can help in some small way.

SamB you sound exhausted you poor thing, really hope you manage to get some rest today and that your consultant appointment tomorrow goes well. Excited to hear your news!

Bunnybaby that was such a lovely poem thanks for posting that. It's my MC baby due date this weekend, was just lovely to read your poem.

Doc appointment went well girls thanks for all your messages. Basically got this blood under skin on both my ankles which is spreading, can be a sign of increased liver enzymes so she has sent off for a blood test which I'll hopefully get the results of this afternoon fingers crossed. Have to wear support stockings in the meantime. Then got sent to the hospital for fetal monitoring which I wasn't expecting. All was okay, all be it extremely nerve wracking but baby in there is heart beating away. So thankful. Feel totally exhausted, hopefully baby will stay in there another while.

x

Unbuffy · 18/10/2010 14:49

Best wishes to Banana. That's so unfair after the past week of ups and downs for you, and not the result anybody wants. I hope you find some answers and get your little one soon.

Louise hang in there. It's going to take a while, and you will feel totally broken for a long time because it's NOT fair but you can heal. Just take a day at a time and take care of yourself. And although this is probably entirely the wrong thing to say, don't forget your dh is greiving too, but men have a strange way of dealing with it which seems to come out in anger first. It's not personal that things are tough for the pair of you just now, but it will get better in time. That all sounds so trite and useless rereading it, but there. Take care.

Carimoof, how are you?

Happy, what news?

SamB, hope it all sorts itself out very soon for you. The end IS in sight. Hit the lucozade whenever you need to and sleep all you can!

I seem to have lost a day, and I have ressurrected (dammit I canNOT spell today, sorry) part of the list that had vanished. If the consensus is to let it go again, then we can. It's just a thought.

As for me, I'm getting to that 'bored of being fat and unable to do anything and having no energy and not sleeping and being pummelled and being unneccessarily emotional' stage. But having had a major reality check (as we all have) I am currently treasuring every kick and punch.

Hope everyone else is well.

x

digitalgirl · 18/10/2010 15:49

Hello,
Wondered if I could join the ? Just had a scan at 6 weeks and there's a baby with a heartbeat in there!! Measures exactly as I'd calculated (was charting temps as had long cycles).

This will hopefully be baby #2, have had 2 early mc's whilst ttc#2, so still a way to go before I can relax.
Having a repeat scan in 2 weeks to make sure all is well. Trying to be positive now.

My heart goes out to Louise have read your story and wish you all the strength to get through this painful time.

Sorry for banana's loss too. Hopefully I can be another one of those successful pg after 2 mc's examples to inspire you not to give up hope.

Sending labour vibes sam's way.

Unbuffy · 18/10/2010 15:53

Hi Digi, recognise you from The Other Siiide, congrats on your bfp/scan results! Welcome to the mad rollercoaster...

HappyGirl1 · 18/10/2010 15:56

Digi congrats and welcome! It's a great thread here.. the ladies are just fab and so strong

thefatladyscreams · 18/10/2010 15:57

Louisesh - I guess arguing is a shit but inevitable stage you are going through. Last thing you need at the moment though when getting through each day must seem hard enough. Hope the lady tomorrow can bring you some little bit of comfort. I'm 42 next month so please don't let the turning 40 thing stick too much in your mind. Alba is right - there is a great bunch of nutters ladies on the ttc at 40 thread when you're ready. I don't think going to 41 weeks had anything to do with it - in some parts of Europe 42 weeks is considered full term. Just a horrible unfair thing that happened. But hope you get some answers soon. Do you want to talk about Georgie or is that too raw?

Sam - sounds like your body is definitely switched to amber. Trust you've got your bags packed and ready!

Happy - glad your appointment went well and they could tell you what is happening.

Unbuffy - yes, it's a glamourous stage isn't it!

Oh crossed threads - welecome and congratulations digi. Lots of hand holding available here!

hairytriangle · 18/10/2010 17:56

Hey Digi :) I have a second scan on Friday as it was too early to see heartbeat at five plus five, and I'll be seven plus five for this one.

I'm not properly joining this thread yet though! ;)

banana87 · 18/10/2010 18:22

I called my GP today and I have a double appt booked tomorrow to discuss referral and things. I told him I am worried about bleeding on the pill AND in pregnancy and how I think the two are related. He did say the practice WILL do some basic hormone tests for me which is a relief. Also been in touch with the fertility clinic and a nurse is calling me back Wed to discuss their tests. So I think I am making steps. Just need to get BUPA to cover it all (under the guise of gynecological issues) so I get answers WITHOUT having a 6 month NHS wait.

Sorry for a me me me post :(

louisesh · 18/10/2010 18:31

Thanks all for your kind words.....No TFLS i love talking about Georgie, can t get enough of her.Good news HAPPY

anyone else just long to take their pants off at the end of the day? or just me?!

digi good to see you here - hope you're here too soon Hairy!

bunny that was lovely x

banana glad your GP is being supportive. FWIW I also had breakthrough bleeding on the pill, no matter which type I tried. I was given all sorts of tests to find the cause of it, and along the way had some pre-cancerous cells zapped. But in the end it turned out simply to be the pill, which was why I wasn't suprised in my first pg to have some bleeding. The pill and pg both make my cervix become friable and therefore prone to bleed.

louise scream and shout and rant and rail at the world all you like. Did the hospital offer you and DH any bereavement counselling? that may help you share how you're feeling and help you cope with things together? I think you're doing so well. As someone said to me once - however you're feeling during this time is normal and you should go with it, so if you want to cry, cry, if you want to shout shout, and if you feel angry be angry. Big hug to you x

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 18/10/2010 20:41

louise - hugs, honey. talk about her all you want. I am sure we would all love to listen.
It's normal to feel the way you are feeling. My mum had 6 MCs and 2 stillbirths (neither at full term, though) trying to have another baby before my youngest brother, I was 14. A lot of pain, anger, frustration, bit also SO much love...

banana I'm glad you have your GPs support.

Happy Great news :)

digital yay and welcome!

clareanna I love taking my bra off at the end of the day. But generally I just look forward to DS's bedtime these days.. (7:30!!)

sam - labour vibes. Unfortunately, no real support from anyone. haven't been to see my GP about this because when we were living in Bath, the GP and midwives were utterly rubbish and left me with undiagnosed HG until 13 weeks, by which time I was a physical wreck. Kinda put me off.
And I haven't seen my own midwife yet during this pregnancy. Saw her cover for my booking because she went on holiday and they lost my info for a while. Hate the cover midwife with a passion and grudge only a once-wronged first time mum can hold on to. She did my day 3 PN visit with DS and basically told me he was probably going to suffer liver failure and other grizzly things because I'm a young mum (23!), and he was soo tiny (6lb9 Hmm) and had physiological jaundice (that's right, physiological. Read my notes, woman!) Basically made me feel like crap.

Right, epic post.
I'm exhausted, but I managed to keep something other than toast with butter or instant mash down tonight (bit of roast chicken with boiled potatoes, exciting!) so I feel a bit more alive.
Going to see my best friend tomorrow, but I don't really know what to say to her. MS is pretty much a life sentence as far as I understand it, and she has a little 12 month old. So devastating.

big hugs for everyone. Would anyone like some of the cake I baked earlier but couldn't stomach? Apple and cinnamon.

Muser · 18/10/2010 21:16

Ivy sorry you've been so sick and about your friend. MS has different forms and some are manageable than others. If your friend hasn't already I'd recommend she take a look at the MS Society for info and advice.

batteryhen · 18/10/2010 22:26

hello everyone :)

Just a quick post to say welcome to digi - good to see you on hereGrin Hello hairy lurker- I am glad you are ok, and good news about your scan this week. louise my thoughts are still with you and your family xx
banana so so sorry for you :( I hope you get some answers this week. Just as a thought I saw a programme about a lady who miscarried 7 or 8 times - and then was recomended to take 5mg of folic acid instead of the normal 400mcg. She went on to have a little girl. Maybe something you can ask your Dr about?
ivy glad your food is staying down, horrible news about your friend, but it is nice that she has someone like you looking out for herxx
clareanna I don't know about pants, I can't wait to get my bra off!!

Hello to everyone else - sending labour vibes to all that want and need them.

I have my 12 week scan on friday - which was my original due date for my MC. Strange how things workout.I thought I had had all my screening bloods ready for the scan but the midwife told me they will take screening bloods on friday - so I won't get the results for another week which is a bit crap - but thats the way it is.
I have an impending feeling of doom:( I hope that I can report back to you all with good news xxx

Night for nowxx

Muser · 18/10/2010 22:35

Good luck for Friday battery, weird timing, it must add to the worries a bit. I hope you get some good memories for the day.

I had a repeat anomaly scan today and it was just wonderful. This time we were talked through the whole thing so we knew what was going on. And we got to see some 3D/4D images as well. I have been smiling ever since. I really feel excited now and enormously lucky.

lia66 · 18/10/2010 22:47

Hi all,

banana please stay strong, I've had 4 mc at various stages, the last 2 straight after each other and I'm coming up to 18 wks Thursday, hopefully nice and straight forward from now on and ndearing the homeward stretch, there is hope. Also, I too was throwing folic acid down my neck at the rate of 4 average tablets, (just boots/tesco own) a day as I read somewher, (can't remember) it helps.

louise my great nices was born sleeping after a concealed abruption in 2006 and we still miss her each and every day, I know what you mean when you say "even though I never really knew her" but you did didn't you? You knew what she liked to listen to, how she liked to be touched, what tastes and sounds made her active or peacful. She listened and reponded to the sound fo yours and your partners voice. You did know her, she was and always will be your daughter.

My niece has gone on to have 2 healthy little boys following her loss, and as you have been, was told, whenever you are ready, just go for it. Some say you won't conceive until you are ready to deal with it, for some thats sooner than others, but when you feel ready is the time for you.

Someone has posted Sands website please go there and say hello, there's alot of support to be found there. Some days you may find yourself there more often than not. Also please stay amongst us, we care about you, there isn't a person on here who's heart didn't break for you last week. It's good for the sole to unload and sometimes there are things you simply can't put into spoken words. We will always be here to listen.

For me, I had amnio last week and we got our good results back today so we are very relived. We also found out that we are having another little girl, making our girls up to 4 :)

muser I'm glad you had a better scan, the technology these days is amazing and it makes such a difference when the people actually seem like they care.

lia66 · 18/10/2010 22:48

sole ?? Hmm Soul
