Sorry for not popping back sooner, Louise I have been trying to think of something appropriate to say but just end up deleting whatever I write. Please stay in touch on the thread and talk about Georgie as much as you like. I would love to hear you talk about her x Everything you are experiencing is completely normal, from the feelings down to the arguing with DH, give yourselves time to grieve and be kind to each other (which is so hard especially as men grieve in a totally different way). Each day as it comes is my only piece of advice really. I am really glad that you are seeing the Bereavement Midwife. Mine was/is (as she is looking after me through this pregnancy) my life and sanity saver. My DD2 was only with me for 21 weeks but I knew her for those weeks, gave birth to her and held her and she is my daughter, who will always be with me in my heart, as will Georgie for you. My thoughts are with you Louise xxxx

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 19/10/2010 12:37

Banana I am sorry for what has happened to you. Many of us on here have been there so we know how you are feeling. Good that positive steps are being taken through your GP. Keep us posted x

Magic8ballhastheanswers · 19/10/2010 13:23

Lovely news about your scan Muser and amnio results Lia66 [hsmile]

Good luck for Friday Battery, weird shit always works out like that, it happened to me too, I had to go in for bloods and ALL the blood clinics were closed except for the one in antenatal where I was wheeled in from the ambulance not in a good way on exactly the same date and almost the same time of day 1 year later....

Hope you are feeling better Ivy

Clare I am with you on the whipping pants off!

Not much to report here except HEARTBURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Angry

I did it Grin!!!

At last, the post I've been waiting nine months to write! Ruby Mae was born at 5.50am this morning and we have been back at home since about 10.30am. This is our story... I couldn't sleep due to randon contractions yesterday evening, so got up and they were about 6/7 minutes apart but not very painful. At about 11.30 I woke DH up and we timed contractions for a while, set up the tens and, at 2ish decided to call the delivery suite. We sorted DD's out and arrived at the hospital at 3ish. When I was examined at about 3.20am I was 3cm dilated. Two hours later it was all a bit much and on examination I was 8cm. My waters went during the examination and Ruby was born half an hour later. There was a bit of shouting (by me) and a bit of swearing (also by me) and a lot of being cute (by Ruby). I am very tired after all the tummy upset yesterday but feel fine when just sitting down. Feeding is going ok, a little uncomfortable but ok. We are just overwhelmed by how lovely she is and what a miracle baby making actually is. These moments are so precious and we are so lucky.

Smile Welcome to the world Ruby Mae! And congratulations to the proud mummy Sam, also very impressed at your short hospital stay and logging on within hours of the birth! Hope feeding continues to go well and that Ruby settles into her place in the family.

Oh my goodness, where to start?? I've just caught up with all the news after a week away. What a roller coaster... I'm sitting here with sad tear and happy tears running down my face. You ladies are incredible!

Sam - WOW! Congratulations on little Ruby Mae! You must be elated.

Oh Louise and Banana, I'm so, so sorry. Sending huge virtual hugs to you both. You are both so brave. Please stay on this thread if you feel up to it (but we totally understand if you don't feel up to it). Do whatever helps. I know nothing can make things better at this awful time, but know that we're all here for you.

Sorry not to name check everyone, but special welcome to Digital.

Well, after my manic week last week, am trying to get back to normal. I didn't go for a scan at the EPU in the end, as I didn't think I'd be able to cope if it was bad news, with such a crazy week ahead. The bleeding stopped after a day, and as it happens, I've received an appointment date to have my 12 week scan. Its next Tuesday, and as you can all imagine all too well, I'm absolutely terrified that there won't be a heart beat or that something else is wrong. I think because I've had 2 early scans which were obviously ok, I'm scared that this one won't be because I still haven't had any symptoms at all. Also, would be devastated for DH if it all went wrong at this scan - this is supposed to be the nice bit everyone remembers when people are pregnant in films, where the couple see the little bean on the screen and cry with happiness. I couldn't bear it for DH if it's bad news - at least I had the joy of seeing the heart beat on the two earlier scans.

Sorry to ramble on.
Also, I haven't had any blood tests done yet - should I have done? Or do they get done at the actual 12 week scan?

sparklyrainbow · 19/10/2010 17:15

Congrats Sam and well done, welcome to Ruby [hgrin]

Banana, sorry it hasn't worked out and hope you are getting the support you need. Stay strong and I hope you manage to get some answers.

Battery good luck on Friday and hope you have some more good news to share.

Too tired to do much more name checking and have to catch up properly before I can, but still thinking of Louise.

waves (and chocolate) to all x

tigerbear · 19/10/2010 17:18

Hello Sparkly!
Talking of chocolate, I was going to share some round, but realised that I've eaten about 15 pieces of Toffifee, so um, there's not much left. Sorry! Blush

randomimposter · 19/10/2010 17:19

Well done Sam - hope your babymoon is lovely, and all settles down well. Love the name Ruby btw.

Special wave for Lia, great news after your down posts a while back. Hope everything brighter in your world.

Muser · 19/10/2010 17:32

Lovely to see you!

AlbaDeTamble · 19/10/2010 17:57

Huge congratulations Sam! I want a labour like yours please [hgrin]

batteryhen · 19/10/2010 18:18

sam fab news - welcome to the world little ruby, and well done to her mummy :)

tigerI have my scan on friday so a few days before you - I have almost convinced myself that it will be bad news. DP can't come with me so I am taking a friend. I am really nervous too - so I know how you feel xxx Have you seen your MW yet? I saw her around 10 weeks, and I had bloods for HIV, Syphillis, anaemia etc,the bloods for downs screening are done on the same day as my scan. It may be different in your area, but I would have thought you should have had some initial bloods done? Will keep my FX for you on Monday.

Hello to everyone else.....ummmmmmmm actually going to confess now....... I am only 12&2 but at work today I got the old doppler out of the cupboard to see if I could hear the baby heartbeat. I couldn't so that has done nothing for my anxiety levels. I am just being stupid aren't I ?

Sorry for the long post, but just to say congrats again to sam xxx

toomuchteaching · 19/10/2010 18:23

Massive congratulations Sam, I'm so thrilled for you, and that it went so smoothly. You have felt like my "teacher who's a bit further down the road" advisor, if that makes sense, so I'm super pleased for you.

I slept so well last night... and then woke up and forgot I was pregnant for a moment, and then totally freaked out checking for a bump! But I had a growth scan today, and it was fab.. bambino gave us a little thumbs up, it was so cute [hgrin].

Lots of love to louise... thinking of you again today.

clareanna · 19/10/2010 18:50

Woo hoo congratulations sam* lovely baby Ruby Mae has certainly kept you on your toes these last few weeks - I'm delighted she's finally here and you're back at home.
