Magic8 - huge congrats!! Great news Smile

SamanthaB123 · 12/10/2010 15:43

Sorry guys, there might be baby news but it's not mine. I had a decent 'clear out' (ahem...) earlier so if I go into labour today I shouldn't be having any nasty 'accidents' when I'm pushing! Blush I don't really want to eat now just in case Grin. The discomfort is broadly the same and I've been really tired, just woken up in fact. As before, things are definately getting ready. They just aren't actually ready yet. Can I just say that I am so touched by all your well wishes this morning, it's lovely to know that you're all rooting for me. Thanks Grin.

Magic Really glad that your scan was good and I'm delighted that you feel less anxious. I love your story and the fact that you are having twins. It makes me feel warm all over!

Wonderful news Magic8!

It does sound positive Sam, I think you might exit this week with a baby!

penguin I'd have a really good chat with the consultant when the time comes, and maybe some midwives as well for an alternative view. One thing I'd want to know is long-term issues. You might take longer to recover with a c-section, but what sort of long-term troubles might tearing create? I'd rather have 6 weeks limited movement then a lifetime of toilet troubles!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 12/10/2010 20:07

magic8 that's brilliant :)

penguin I got given the same EDD today! 12+5//21/04/2011.

sam fx things start moving soon.

scan went pretty well, NT came back as 1.7 so ok, just waiting for the bloods now.
Spent the 45 minute drive back puking into my bounty pack bag, hoping the seal was waterproof. It is. Biscuit.
DS was with a friend all day and passed out asleep at 7, 2 hours before his normal bedtime. time for me to catch up on some sleep.

Gi1da · 12/10/2010 20:45

Checking in on the SamB cam for news Smile hope you get a good night's sleep if not busy making a baby!

Congrats PenguinMum great scan news. Sorry had to stick my fingers in my eyes ears re the tearing. La la la. Didn't hear a thing. Nope. In total denial.

Oh dear Ivy but 50 gold stars for your research into the liquid holding capabilities of bounty pack folders! Hope you're feeling better!

Double super news Magic, ps, how's Magic Sis doing?

oops, dinner being served, must dash. Bless DH! Happy duffer vibes to all xx

AlbaDeTamble · 12/10/2010 21:12

Penguin and Ivy, I was browsing the thread re health in pregnancy grants... if the posters on there are right, it seems you're both qualifying on the last possible due date! good effort on timings Smile -- saw the date and thought of you both!

Great news on good scans too

Sam, hope you have a nice easy labour tonight -- looking forward to logging on in the morning and seeing your usual daily list with you down the bottom, graduated, with all the details! Wink

Muser · 12/10/2010 21:18

Wonderful news on the scan Ivy. Lovely.

I am actually having another scan next Monday. Yesterday's scan was a really unpleasant experience for a whole bunch of reasons. I was so upset by it that MrM declared we should pay for a private scan. I am very excited, this time we should actually be told what's going on while it happens, instead of worrying that something is wrong because it's taking so long and we're not getting any explanation.

toomuchteaching · 12/10/2010 21:33

Keep logging on for news from sam, louise and effilump, sending cervix opening vibes your way!!!

Woop woop for scan news from muser, magic16, penguin and ivy... hooray to you all.

Haha alba, I too looked away from the screen at third and fourth Shock degree comments... us first timers try not to think about such things.

Bounce bounce bounce on the balls ladies, good night.

(PS Can I confess I just polished off a whole thing of angel delight... something I would never have considered eating before, haha!!)

toomuchteaching · 12/10/2010 21:36

Oh, cross posted muser... sorry it was rubbish. Sometimes they are weirdly quiet, I don't think they realise how much it freaks us out. Like mine where she said "I'm just having a detailed look at the heart, I don't think there's anything wrong I'm just interested"... well now I think there's something wrong, why would you say that, why!? Hope the next one is much better.

Muser · 12/10/2010 21:43

Thanks toomuchteaching. A certain amount of quiet I could accept, and I can take the medicalness of it because it's a very serious scan. But they didn't explain anything, including the internal exam I had. And the scan lasted a good hour and a bit due to difficult positioning. It was really not a nice experience.

Morning Grin,

Not a baby in sight...was awake half the night having been to the loo at 2am. Kept getting woken up by contractions but then dozing off in between. I figured I should get all the rest I could just in case. This morning I feel totally exhausted and sick. I'm being a bit grumpy with everyone too. I have the same niggly pains, backache mainly, but the contractions have stopped for a bit. The baby is very low down this morning too.

Alba I have two birthing balls so I can throw them at you continually!

I'm pretty sure that Louise must have had her baby by now.

Loopsy aren't you having your scan today? Hope I haven't got it wrong and if it is today, good luck!

Has anyone heard from Tigerbear since the scan? I hope that everything is ok with her.

Hope everyone else has a lovely day!

AlbaDeTamble · 13/10/2010 08:35

Gosh, Sam, well impressed with list updating after the night you've had! I'd be in bed still feeling sorry for myself, though it does sound like you're making progress... fx for baby soon for you!

Loopy, good luck!

PenguinsMummy · 13/10/2010 08:41

Morning Ladies.

Loopy good luck for today - hope it all goes well and fx for you.

Sorry to Gi1da and TooMuchTeaching Blush - I'm sure that you will be just fine and not a tear in sight!!! On the positive side though both my labours were really quick - 6hrs for DD1 and 1h50m for DD2 - she arrived 10 mins after we got to hospital, no time for pain relief here! And both were big babies 8'11 and 8'15 so no doubt all of that contributed as well.

Think I will just chat to MW's and to Consultant again and see then but think that risking a third tear isn't a recommended option.

Anyway enough talks of tears!!

Sam hope that the baby makes an appearance today or that you feel a little better.

Special wave to Ivy my EDD buddy!!!

banana87 · 13/10/2010 09:46

Good luck to loopy today. And Louise hope your baby gets moving!

Great news on your scan Ivy and Magic8.

Why isn't eating making me feel better? I eat, I feel the same. I get up, I go blind for about 30 seconds and then feel really sick until I lay down again. Why?????

Debating on when to do next scan. I have been googling my 3mm measurement and such varied results of whether that was a good measurement or not for 6 weeks. So panicking. Of course.

HappyGirl1 · 13/10/2010 09:48

Loopy Good luck today - thinking of you

SamB sounds like you are definitely progressing.. hope baby makes an appearance shortly..

No news here, in a bit of a bad mood for no apparant reason. Feel bad that I am but can't help it, think I might burst into tears at any second! ignore me just being silly today.

Muser · 13/10/2010 10:23

banana eating made me feel worse, not better. I lost quite a lot of weight in the first trimester as a result. Don't force yourself to eat lots of food if you don't want it, but do try and make sure you get something.

I also found ice lollies helped a tiny bit, or at least were quite nice to eat and a way to get liquids.

SamanthaB123 · 13/10/2010 11:40

Alba I had to get up to take DD2 to school. I did come home and go straight to bed. A couple of hours sleep has helped a bit but I'm just a bit fed up. This is quite a long run in to labour...
